@IRaptus: If auximenes is right, what the hell did it inject in Fifield that animated him into a zombie;)
"Hammerpedes look like an anus with wings"
auximenes lol damn those mental images hahaha
VivisectedEngineer flocculant is used to separate dirt and sediment from water., used alot in the mining/metallurgy industry. All quite innocent...unless you want a really hardcore laxative lol
It takes place on earth
@Gavin: Thanks for the vote of confidence:)
The Engineers did not create humans because they themselves are human.
In Prometheus' opening scene we do see them seed life on a desolate world, but it ain't human life they are seeding - answer to what kind of life they are seeding is in the movie.
@ BigDave - it ain't no misquote. Ridley is actually giving fans one hell of a big clue here, a big piece of the jigsaw. Same with Lindelof's recent statement that "paradise" is not the Engineer Homeworld.
Anybody have the HD picture of all the engineers w/o the red circle?
These competitions are legit. I personally delivered the prize to the winner who confirmed receiving the prize. I am giving a heads up now since AC has come and gone. We will need something fresh to devour later and these competitions could keep the site alive and fun.
Fun is why I am here. If it was not fun I would bailed months ago.
What I really do hope that RS and crew will "ressurect" ( in a nonsadistic way) Shaw (so they can have a Jesus figure in there, because they wanted one in Prometheus). At least, that is would pay to see (and well in could help Ms Rapace's career, as it is in a rut).
Do you really believe the mercy kill stuff? Did you not see how many eggs David has? Do you think that could have been generated with that tissue. He tortured her for years and that's that.
i absolutely loved this movie. it's definitely a strange one and by far the best Scarlet Johansson sci-fi film.
Hmm.......Someone might just win one of these later on heh heh! He/she will have to work for it though. Preordered. Task for winning pending. Stay frosty!
@sherris
"This also means there is no fossilisation at all in the SJ. The SJ will of been there under 20yrs.
That part is known really from Prometheus when it turned out it was the look of a suit and not fossilisation"
Yeah that makes sense now with Prometheus' & A:C's showcase of the Engineers space/bio suits.
But we will see.
joylitt Good point. Glad I only watched it 1.5 times.
dk What about all those brain cells that died while watching the damn movie. Requiem gets the job done in that regard: it makes you more stupid.
Sounds like RS is either trolling or senile at this point.
TBH, I am okay with some things like these remain unexplained mysteries.
Back to OT- A positive thing thing was seeing a bunch of hapless stupid kids die ensuring a cleaner gene pool in the future. MWHAAAAA! Good riddance!
There is a much simpler way of explaining the pathogen...
Pathogen = Xenomorph
Xenomorph = Pathogen
They are one and the same, the variants are just the result of the host(s) used.
Or another way of putting it a Xenomorph is the embodiment of the pathogen formed used the hosts DNA, and the pathogen is a viral form of the Xenomorph awaiting a viable host.
Barf The Mog Agree. I just hate buying something knowing other better versions are coming to milk my wallet.
I think the OP is valid. I would honestly like to see BigDave weigh in on this one.
Rather than make an entire game I suggest instead you create a "mod" for the PC version of either Colonial Marines or Isolation, because what you are describing sounds more like a handicap game mode somewhat similar to Left for Deads multiplayer or Halo's Infection game type. In all honesty, I suspect a game type already exists within the modding community for either of these games for what you have so passionately described.
However, if you are more serious and truly intend to create an actual game you are gonna need a lot more than hastily written post, especially if you are looking for financial support or looking to hire people - you will need a detailed proposal, with well thought and explained details about all aspects of your game that would appeal to both fellow players and any prospective investors. For a start, you would need to consider...
- # How many people do you have/need to develop the game?
- # How long would it take to develop?
- # What software and hardware would be needed to develop the game?
- # How much money do you need to develop the game and cover your development teams expenses?
- # What platforms are you developing for - console, PC, mobile, VR, browser, stream-play?
- # Does your game have a viable long-term income plan via DLC, Microtransactions, seasonal updates etc.?
I get that you may just be excited at a possible game you have realized would work well with the Alien franchise, but as such you should post it as just an idea. But if you are serious about pursuing your idea, then as a level designer/"modder" myself I would suggest looking into creating a mod before even contemplating starting the development of a video game.
@auximenes: Sphincterpedes;) Or given there's some ancient Egyptian influence there, Sphinxorpedes;)
I think the other parties are the Engineers and Weyland-Yutani, but Ridley talked about the plot being written now as having to do with the colony disintegrating and religion, so I'm pretty sure David will be taking them to Origai 6. Perhaps he sets himself up as their ruler and God. He will need a certain amount of sacrifices to experiment on weekly, for the greater good of course :)
Here is what RS has said recently about Covenant 2:
"I always thought the journey would be very much embedded, at least 50% in religion. Security blanket. You can go there next. When I get there, I'm looking at the colonies and what happens, and how it disintegrates…it's being written now."
"Whether we bring Daniels back or not in the next one…she has to come back..I'm not sure that's the right thing".
dk - Nothing wrong with owning two versions on disc.
@BlackGooDrinker - David saying "Fortunately with thousands of examples from which to choose, I was able to practice on as many as I wished before finally getting this one right" pretty much says it all.
I guess the thousands he sliced and diced are in a dumpster out back :) The real question is, how did he kill or subdue the ones who were not infected and get them back to his lab. There's a whole other movie there. I can see David in 'I Am Legend', going out daily to hunt Engineers hiding in deep deep underground dwellings, tranq darting them, and rolling them back to his lab on a giant body cart. On the side of the cart he has painted "Black Goo Express" :)
@IRaptus - No, nothing about the deacon in the book, but that's just another form of the organism grown from the parasitic version. If the giant face hugger that impregnated the Engineer had impregnated Shaw or another human instead, we would have yet another variant. It all depends of who infected who and in what order. It's just a wild, sick, and twisted orgy, as Lindeloff once said :) The only commonality seems to be the elongated head and tail.
I don't think that something-morph in the mural art would be a deacon since that mural was from thousands of years earlier. It could be a very early version of the organism, or just some stylized art representational of the general features of the organism.
Prometheus is so so. At least looks good. Covenant doesn't.
While the Facehuggers look like they're sporting vaginas, the Hammerpedes look like an anus with wings.
joylitt I guess we will have to agree to disagree. If you liked Prometheus- great. I was expecting something different and will leave it at that. I cannot honestly say until I see AC though to be fair.
auximenes I saw it in the theatre as a youngin! I couldn't watch the dog scene and my older brother teased me afterward saying that I didn't see The Thing- I saw The Palm (of my hand when it got scary) lol! I can't get enough of that 82 version now though!
dk Prometheus is a masterpiece compared to Covenant. I would go to a hypnotist before watching it if I were you.
Kethol this is outstanding work!!! Great job! Especially clarifying the 4 variants of the pathogen. Upvoted.
Im still confused as to whether the Deacon in Prometheus was the result of chance though despite the mural depicting what looks like a Deacon.
In another thread we were discussing the amount of variables involved to produce the Deacon-morph http://www.alien-covenant.com/topic/45584 most notably the multiple species and transmission vectors.
Does your info from the book help at all??
Barf The Mog I did this with Prometheus and am sure I will like AC better. I feel like a schmuck though since I know I will buy the director cut when/if it gets released.
joylitt I doubt it. I am a bit of a pack rat though- I still haven't gotten around to throwing away AVPR- I am unsure which vault I stored it in.
I love The Thing ('82). I saw that movie new at the theater when I was 5, my mom had no idea how intense a movie it was going to be. I was absolutely terrified, but I've always loved it.
joylitt - Yes, only a few, but I liked it. The novel is superb, so far.
dk - The DVD/Blu-Ray will hopefully have some nice features, definitely looking forward to that release.
AVP & AVPR are painful to watch.
MonsterZero The best way to deal with temptation is to yield to it! Trust me- you will feel much better ;)
dk I hope the trade value on Amazon is good
So if there were/are thousands of engineers as David stated to use for his practice...where are they? Are they asleep? Chillin on the planet?
Blackwinter-witch The implications seem staggering on different levels. I am not a fear monger, but I could easily see the rich elite funding R&D to their advantage. I am glad I have more years behind me instead of ahead of me.
