Beautiful fan art poster depicting Vincent Ward's Alien 3 by artist diamonddead. Without undermining Alien 3 as it is (assembly cut is a good film by all means) I hope Ward's bold vision will come to life on the screen in a future film or mini series š¤Agreed. I've been wanting at least a book or comic adaptation so long as it fairs better than the William Gibson adaptation. The comic was pretty underwhelming in my opinion. While we're on Alien 3 here's one fromĀ Barry Ballaran
Oh for sure I'm down with a comic book that captures those huge and beautiful interiors on the wooden planet.Ā

I thought the same and this one looks better . I got the impression that the xeno in episode 5 also looked a little different than the roidmorph.
Also, interestingly enough the cgi xenos' body frame look noticably different than the practical versions (i.e way lankier) imo which is a bit of a blunder.Ā
Why was that black goo coming out of his head?
Lightened up for a closer look at the differences:
I found the Xenomorph looked a bit better in this episode.

Glad to hear the director confirmed this. Hope we will get the 2nd season next year and I agree there are still much more to explore before heading to 2122.I think Noah Hawley intentionally avoid confirming his show linking to Prometheus & Covenant because Ridley Scott may already have plan for his third prequel, and also we may have Romulus 2 so it's good Hawley only focuses on the uncharted 57 years for now. Once a third prequel and Romulus 2 are released maybe we will see more characters appearing in all timelines.
I will forever argue there could have very easily been a way for Hawley to mold his story around Ridley's prequels and tie everything together. I could come up with several storylines myself and I probably will try my hand at a few in the future just for fun. The problem is everyone wants to have their "own" spin on things, they want all the credit which is why they change things and ignore source material. I dunno, I just always had this fear Disney's acquisition of the IP would lead to this kind of continuity confusion and it seems I was right.
There is a connection: "
Alien: Earth timeline confusion: Noah Hawley talks connecting the series to ALIENS as well!"

Again make a topic about your issues please. You bring these comments everywhere. This doesn't have a whole to do with theĀ story above. As for Aliens special edition it goes like this. Burke after hearing Ripley's story sent a message to Hadleys Hope to "go look at a grid reference". The Jordan family are indeed the ones that found the derelict. They waited to call it in until they investigated so they knew what to call it in as. Russ Jordan got facehugged and is likely patient zero for the Hadleys Hope hive. Burke attempted to absolve himself of responsibility what happened to the colony by saying what if the ship didn't exist and he didn't know if it did. The Jordan's made a mistake entering but it didn't matter because with the ship found the company would have investigated anyway.Ā
There is a version of Aliens that starts with Newt's family, how her parents wanted to claim the ship they were told was safe, how the father brought the first one back with him on his face while Newt and Timmy waited in the vehicle, and the facility where they wereĀ trying to remove the facehugger. Would love to see some consistency with these movies and the new tv show. Wendy/Marcy's face just making clicking sounds for what seemed like an eternity was boring and made me want to shut the TV off.
He can say that but he's still disregarded Prometheus and Covenant. No denying that really. There's an interview where he says the only movies that are canon to his series are Alien and to a major degree Aliens. At most those two matter to him
I know, it really annoys me that show creators or even new film directors can come in and just disregard the canon chronology that's been established. It's just laziness, in my opinion. Stories don't matter as much if they just change on a whim based on someone else's opinion. There's plenty of room creatively to build in the Alien sandbox without erasing valuable lore in the process. Just makes things messy for no reason.
Here's a highlight, DarfreZilla Arts and their Offspring Xenomorph crossover piece:

I feel this episode a little bit dragged during the first half, but the second half is getting much better. The sheep is really the G.O.A.T. lol.
Love the look of this! Thanks for sharing Nebula! I'll be keeping a close eye on this one!
I wanted to love this series so much, but i'm honestly just not super excited about it anymore. It's ok but it's nothing special, imo. Wendy talking to the xeno was stupid, it's been done in the comics and should have stayed there.Ā I'll finish the series and fully judge then, but I enjoyed Fargo and Legion much more than this.
Ā
I pretty much only like Kirsh and Morrow at this point, but Kirsh turning out to be a villain is sorta boring, the hostile to humanity synth has already been done to perfection by Fassbender (and to a certain extent Hauer), it feels a bit tired going down that route again. A synth that has disdain for humanity just doesn't work for me, they're machines at the end of the day, David was a unique situation. The reason Aliens, Romulus, Isolation and other media in the franchise is so loved is because the Synths in those stories were so lovable and pure of heart. I can't believe a Predator (Badlands) movie will probably have Synths I care about more than the ones in an Alien series....
Ā
Speaking of Synths, I am sure Atom Eins is one, this is the most obvious foreshadowing ever.

Ā
Side note, I better see that mf plant creature do something, it's the one I was always the most interested in, lol.

Episode 6: The FartAs if the series' couldn't get any worse it digs itself through rock bottom. Wendy (who has one more expression than a bird nesting box) worrying about the xenos and their emotions (when she mentions how they'd "feel" being captured as if it was ever important in the franchise) is about as shockingly stupid as it could possibly get. This show doesn't do the franchise any favors except spitting acid in its face just like Disney did with Star Wars. The most terrifying space monster in cinema history is reduced to a confused gender affirmed animal we're supposed to feel sympathy for.Two episodes left, I don't know if I can do this anymore.Looking forward to Aliens Rogue Incursion Evolved Edition so I can wash away the puke taste in my mouth. I might do a review of in in the games forum.
Agree with neomorph. When they show Wendy/Marcy making clicking sounds at the "baby alien", close up and endlessly, I want to throw something at my TV. It's long, drawn out, and boring. I hope the monsters put all of them out of their misery, except the boy genius and Kirsh. Then start over in season 2 with the monsters trying to take over earth.
I hope Kirsh assumed the Xeno was a male based on the creature's phallus-shaped head. I was wondering what was going to happen with Nibs since she was clearly traumatised from what she saw in the USCSS Maginot wreckage, thinking she might eventually snap. But they erased her memory, and it's all goodie now. The flying insects look cool tho. The eyeball thing, Ocellus is plotting something. Hopefully, all the creatures break containment and wreak havoc.
Hawley se do toho radÅ”i nepleÅ„, už je dost zniÄený! NemĆ”m pro nÄj sluÅ”nĆ© jmĆ©no..

I don't know yet. I'll wait until the season is over to share my opinion. I will say both have their pluses and negatives. The negatives are enough to put both at the back end of my rankingĀ
For me, I enjoyed Romulus but hating Earth
If they get rid of the lost boys, it will be better.
A lot of Disney era content like books comics and games seemingly ignore Alien 3 and Resurrection but I honestly don't think they'll do Ripley. They would have likely started with a Ripley movie before Romulus if they wanted to use her. Blomkamp's 5 is as close as they were likely to get when it comes to bringing Ripley back. That ship has sailed.
For me, I enjoyed Romulus but hating EarthĀ

The two pictures above:
Is that the husband of the doctor? Boy did he propose to the wrong woman.
I already commented on that boring, never ending scene with Wendy, who is now Marcy again, where she made stupid mouth sounds at the creature that seem to go on forever. Writers please.
The scene of her making stupid mouth sounds with the "baby alien" was long, drawn out, and boring. I wanted to scream. Come on writers.
š¤£š¤£ I hardly represent the whole of Earth lol
The grand jury has reached a unanimous decision: everyone on Earth agrees that Alien Romulus is better!
I wouldn't be surprised maybe like after 10 years where AI is phenomenally advanced and we may see a very believable Ripley comeback or make a cameo.Ā
