ninXeno426Alien: Romulus 2 NewsFede Alvarez is no longer directing the Alien: Romulus sequel!

I'm surprised by this but fine with it. I had enough issues with Romulus as is. I just can't think of who they could actually get. My dream pick has always been Alex Garland but he's doing the Elden Ring movie.

Love SciFiAlien 5 Movie ForumWhat If... Ripley, Hicks, and Newt didn't die on Fiorina 161?
Cloning make little sense....rnWhen were they cloned?rnA plot line could be:rn rnReal Ripley goes to sleep just like the end of Aliens....Sulaco begins it's journey home...rnThe atomic blast on LV426 has awakened/alerted the Engineers(or something else)...they come to investigate.rn...The Engineers find the Queen floating in orbit above LV426...good start to the movie....rnSulaco is tracked down(leaking engines....easy trail to follow) Real Ripley gets abducted by Engineers/Elders/ cloned many times....dipped in vats of black goo? Lots of screams and fetuses....Engineers clone victims(and space suits/ships/etc...) and use them for experiments. rnBig adventure ensues(Alien 5)rnReal Ripley dies doing something(saving Newt..etc..)rnEngineers defeated....rnClone Ripley/Clone Newt/Clone Hicks want to return to Earth on the Sulaco..they want to get away from all this madness......Begin Alien 3.rn?...probably work?

The Queen was already found for the TV show. Just watched Alien3 and it's just as bad as Alien Resurrection. Someone suggested that Ripley had a dream and she looks like she's dreaming in the beginning of Alien3. Hope they write off 3 and Resurrection as nightmares by Ripley and reunite her with Hicks and Newt. The cryochambers could have broken which will age them and the original stars can come back. Does anyone remember when Michael Biehn played  Johnny Ringo in the movie Tombstone?

It is an enjoyable show, but don't like some of the stuff they are messing with in the lore, like how can the android communicate with the Alien ?

I bet they go down the road that the Alien is just misunderstood and not that bad after all.

Like they did with Orcs in rings of power.

I had to quit half way through this episode. I agree it was the most "alien" this series felt so far but the writing is just unbearably bad. too many dumb characters doing dumb things. im done with this show.

The writing definitely leaves much to be desired, but we've got 3 more episodes to go! Aren't you curious how it ends?

I don't think that's the intended goal, but more so a potential consequence for their inability to handle containment of these organisms. No one would knowingly or intentionally poison their own home unless its thoroughly infested.

Love SciFiAlien: Romulus 2 NewsRidley Scott says he will for sure make a third Alien prequel if he gets the right idea!
I have a hankering to watch Alien: Covenant today, myself 😂 I find the more often I rewatch Prometheus and Covenant the more I appreciate them. People were so critical of these two films when they first came out but honestly, Scott did a great job with them. Prometheus will always have those subtle issues with the writing, Charlize Theron (my least favorite character) and the matching heart rates but it really was a decent film. Both Prometheus and Covenant have vastly more unsettling and scary "Alien" moments than anything that's come since. The Hammerpede attack, the Trilobite, the Deacon bursting scene in Prometheus. The Backburster scene in Covenant. And - Michael Fassbender as David - can't beat David and Fassbender's performance.Agreed. My unpopular opinion would be that I prefer both Prometheus and Covenant over Romulus. Watched Prometheus and Covenant back to back the other night. Alien was last night.

Tonight I'm going to watch Alien3. Each night I watch the movies and then the last episode in the TV series. I've observed some things I never saw before thanks to some of you. I just hate the movies, Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection but I want to see if I can figure some things out now that some of you have enlightened me.

Found this, from the creator himself, re: T.Ocellus being 'good':"I think it was creating a distraction to allow the creature to do its thing,” Hawley says. “As you keep watching in the season, one might begin to suspect that this one [species] is smarter than the other ones, and that it thinks in a longer-term way."

By the sounds of it, the Ocellus has no alignment or allies with any other organism but is able to calculate and anticipate events to preserve its own self interests. Not good, not evil, just a survivor in any environment. Of course us as Humans will try to find reason to adapt Human traits to it, but ultimately it’s just another sentient being trying to avoid death. I’m liking the Ocellus more and more as the series goes on, however I would have liked the Xenomorph to have been given a little more respect for it’s intelligence but Hawley wanted it to be more like a “bug” again. 🙄

The Ticks don't need a living victim, that was shown twice in this episode, first with the dead rat and second with the freshly-dead crew member Clem (AKA Chlamydia!).

First time I heard their name I was like - wait what? 💀😂 But yeah, very true. These ticks will feast on anything, making them a major hazard to any ecosystem.

The xenomorph patiently stood right in front of the captain yet does not kill her (!) trips her with its tail (?) allows her to get back up on her feet (!!) and she successfully runs away in the worst Disney chase scene since Leia and the bandits in the terrible Obi-Wan series.  The xenomorph charges after her way faster than any human could possibly run yet she outruns it. I get that some characters have plot armor but this is ridiculous. First Hermit and now this captain avoid getting killed in encounters with the xeno despite being served on a silver plate. Who writes this?? Yes she does get killed at the end so I guess the xenomorph realized it's a killing machine after all. Also in the beginning of the episode no one seems to react a lot to the fact that two of their crew members were facehugged and one of them (previous captain) having his whole throat melted by acid. That young kid even made jokes in this inappropriate situation. It's so off-putting and unrealistic despite that I really try my best to suspend my disbelief at all times but this is Idiocracy-level idiotic.Morrow singlehandedly carried this episode and just barely saved it from being almost unwatchable. Nitpicks (and there are many) include the "perfect organism" xenomorph (well not anymore thanks to Disney) struggling in a fight against a possessed human, the editing with occasional scene fade outs killing any ounce of suspense, Ikea-quality glass cylinders that are supposed to contain highly dangerous organisms, hentai tentacle monster tapping the glass to warn the scientist (lol), a junior/trainee engineer so shockingly stupid I'm surprised he even manages basic daily routines, and so many throwbacks to Alien that even Fede Alvarez' love letter Romulus fade in comparison. The good parts were the scenes with Morrow, some impressive CGI (especially the facehuggers and the xenomorph) the shootout scene against the traitor and the appearance of the infected senior engineer, looking like he came straight from The Thing. This series is like a high-budget YouTube fan film. Severely flawed yet occasionally entertaining.

Nothing will ever be worse than the Leia / bandits chase scene 🤣

But yeahhhhh I'm still confused why the Xenomorph was so selective with who it killed and who it toyed with. Is there a reason? The Xenomorph has often been an inquisitive organism as much as it is aggressive. My speculation is that it's simply playing with its food, so to speak.

I just watched Aliens again and when Bishop was in the lab with the marines, he mentioned an embryo. So, if it's an embryo, shouldn't the xenomorph be completely alien? I always thought that the face hugger impregnated whatever it came in contact with. That's why I don't understand why the brother in the show Alien Earth wasn't attacked and killed. The xenomorph killed the pilot and co pilot. Also, the eggs were smaller than David's eggs.

Oh, true that is quite possible, the acid burn being from when they tried removing the Facehugger off the captain. That makes sense. The tick aliens though – they do pose a serious risk, if they get to a body of water, no telling how aggressive they could multiply and spread. They were in the water bottle and didn't grow.

The baby ticks were put in the water bottle to infect a host rather than to grow.   The real danger is in enough of these babies get into a water supply source on earth (New Siam or Neverland most likely) to infect other species.   The ticks feed on blood but it doesn't have to be human and maybe doesn't have to be from a living organism.  Then those babies grow and probably make more babies and infect more hosts and so on and so on.  That's when you get a disaster level event.

^ that's hilarious 😆

Agree that the captain should not have been able to outrun the xenomorph. The xenomorph doesn't have eyes so the T. Ocellus couldn't get into his head.

I think that while ALIEN was a Masterpiece it maybe could have become one of those CULT Movies...like The Thing and Blade Runner etc....rnAnd so i would AGREE that ALIENS was the Movie that made the Franchise more Familiar, by that if you Showed EVERYONE on the Planet and Asked or Talked about the Franchise....rnI think MORE would be Familiar with ALIENS over ALIEN. To the General Population then YES that does Stand Out more.  The Alien Franchise which Includes the Video Games. Comics, Novels and Cross-Overs (AVP) do seem to be more Synonymous and Connected to Camerons Aliens... rather than Ridley Scotts Original.rnFor me and maybe for Many i was Younger when i saw ALIENS... and the Action and Bravado was more my Cuppa Tea but i also LOVED the First Movie and was Disapointed with the 3rd.....  But as i Grew Older then Alien 3 had Grown on me, and Aliens started to NOT be as Great... but still Good.....rnOverall then ALIEN was my Favorite and i think as RS had said for me i became Unsensitised to the Franchise as FAR as the Xenomorph because i had seen it OVER and OVER in Various Mediums.... what KEPT the First ALIEN Movie as Enigmatic for me was the MYSTERY....rnThat First Time we see the Derelict, the Pilot Chamber and Pilot, the Egg Cargo Hold.... this to me is ONE of the GREATEST Set of Scenes in Sci-Fi History.rnThe Xenomorph was something we had NEVER really seen it was Unique, it was Iconic...it was a ENIGMA.... but then when you have something that is SHOWN in Mass and Too Many Times then it LOOSES that Sparkle/Enigma it once had.rnThis is NOT to say that Aliens had Killed it Off.....  i think the Downfall Started with Alien Resurrection and then AVPR basically made a Mockery of Sorts of it.rnI cant Blame JC for the Queen.... he had Free Reign to Explore the Idea as the Egg Morph Scene was NOT a Part of the Original (DC Cut aside).  But when you look at Eggs.... then you think well they have to be LAID by something.rnAnd if that Something can LAY MANY EGGS... then your Conclusion would be that maybe they have to be like a Ant, Bee or Termite and so you can Understand as to HOW the Hive/Queen came to be.rnThe Existence of the Queen did OPEN the Debate about the Origins of the Xenomorph as FAR as to give some Credit to the Idea that the Xenomorph was NOT a Creation but a Ancient Organism.....rnIt seems that THIS would have been something that JC would have Touched On had he MADE the Sequel to ALIENS... This would make the Xenomorph become more Closer to the Original Starbeast.rnRidley Scott had however thought the Xenomorph as a Engineered Killing Machine that the Space Jockey had Created....But this does-not make the Queen as something that does-not FIT with a Engineered Weapon... the Queen actually Offers some Benefit as a Weapon.... but also Offers some Flaws.rnBut even if ALIENS had Never Existed and the Egg Morph was shown in ALIEN then IF the Notion was the Xenomorph was a Creation by the Space Jockey then it would STILL have Flaws as well as Pros to being a Bio-Weapon.rnI think EVERYONE has a Different Take well can have a Varied Take on the Franchise and likes and Dislikes and Everyone is Entitled to that.  There may even be some who like AVRP ;)  (I actually think the Pred-Alien and Procreation was Interesting but a BIT RAPID).

That's why I wish they would connect the movie and answer the questions everyone has.

They never will. The LV 426 derelict, the space jockey, the cargo of eggs, whether they were on board or beneath ship should never have an answer. Like I said no one will ever be satisfied. Is that a human? Is that David? Is that Daniels? Some random person? None of this will be satisfactory. Even worse its been there for less than 20 years before Alien? So much for it being ancient. Just leave it alone.

Just finished Ep.5. Wow what a ride and nostalgia overflow. I especially love the full Nostromo replica and throwback. This is 1979 ALIEN on steroids + Alien Isolation vibe, especially the captain running and hiding scene. Just wtf how could the captain outrun the alien lol.

The bug and eye ball escaping scene is pretty intense. Very creepy to see them finding ways to escape.

Not sure if it is my most favorite so far (I really like Ep3), but definitely in my Top 2.

Neomorph Alien: Earth ForumWatch the T. Ocellus take control of Morrow to battle the Xenomorph

That does awesome and something I'd actually like to see but please not yet another "get away from her you (son-) of a bitch!"

Have Morrow be infected by Mr. Eyeball but still be moderately in control of his own body due to his cybernetics and in immense pain. Then a dramatic fight where he sacrifices and also redeems himself to save someone defenseless, and when the xeno is dead and Morrow is sliced and burnt by acid he gets flashbacks of his daughter before succumbing to his injuries. RIP real and actually interesting protagonist of Alien Earth.

I really enjoyed the episode. When the T. Ocellus got a hold of one of the crewmembers, I was just thinking "Oh please don't speak", and thankfully it didn't; instead, it made a demonic guttural sound. The fight with the Xenomorph was also pretty nice. But the part where Xenomorph runs away after Ocellus jumps at him killed me.

Well this is the OP own Opinion.rnI think ALIENS is FAR from the Worst Movie in the Franchise, it is POPCORN but it shows you have to do Popcorn Action Well....  I had a Good Amount of Good Characters, Story, Execution, Pacing was Good the Effects were Good.  Its Hard to Fault about from it is merely Popcorn Action and maybe JC had Evolved the Xenomorph to what RS would NOT have.rn"The end was supposed to be clear, Ripley was killed by Alien"rnThis was NOT Part of the Drafts, the Drafts from 1st we had a Single Survivor a Male called ROBY..... this was Changed to Female called RIPLEY for the other Drafts and the ENDING has always been they Survive and the ALIEN gets Blown out of the Shuttle/Airlock.rnRidley Scott had Proposed that the ALIEN should KILL the Survivor Ripley and then Imitate her Voice.... but to be Fair that would have been a Bit Silly and MOST Movies have Survivors.  And so this Idea was thrown out.rn"But the worst of all is Cameron's Ripley-Rambo"rnRipley seemed a Tough Character a Female who takes NO BS! Her Experiences/Trauma  did make her into that Rambo Ripley, but the Story Arc seemed OK... i think YEAH was a BIT of a Rambo in HOW she Managed to get to Newt and See Off the Xenomorphs on her OWN that the Marines had Struggled and Most Died trying to do (Face the Xenomorph Threat).  So yeah i think that Scene was a bit OT.rn"An indestructible monster has changed into a weird beetle, which can be shot with a shotgun"rnIts Hard to say, as the Xenomorph has Acid Blood and this is WHY the Nostromo Crew would DARE NOT to Wound it.... and some Shotguns can PUT A BIG HOLE in any kind of Organism at Close Range!   The Xenomorph did seem more Fodder in ALIENS but we are Dealing with more Open Field of Battle than the Confines of the Nostromo, and the Marines are WELL TRAINED and Armed with Weapons with Explosive Rounds.rnThe Xenomorph in ALIEN was Tough but we NEVER saw it Attacked Really, so its HARD TO SAY.... but i Doubt it was NO TERMINATOR..... it did seem to NOT be Wounded by Fire though... same we saw in Alien Covenant too.rn"a planetoid of 1200 km is a great planet"rnThis came from ALIEN as well as a 2 Hour Rotation, which makes LV-426 Tiny and also with that Rotation to Size Ratio.... well the Gravity would be Immense... maybe they should have said it was 12'000 KM with a 8 Hour Rotation that would make more Sense.  But this Nonsense came from ALIEN inc the Earlier Drafts.rn"That's why no film from this "Alien Universe", either AvP or A: Covenant, is a problem for me. After that awful nonsense, "Aliens" rnI would go and Watch say ALIENS and then AVPR back to back and then see how you Feel ;)

Aliens is my favorite movie. After rewatching Alien again the other night, I find it boring compared to Aliens. Tonight I am going to watch Aliens again to try and see why some of you don't like it. Loved the crew.

My take on the crews indifference to the facehuggers is that i think they're pretty used to death. 65 years. I'm certain there's been casualties. I'm guessing at intervals there have been crew replacements

There were casualties. The old man who got eyed in the last episode said a lot of good men died trying to imprison those creepy space things.

I also enjoyed episode 5 as it was the most "alien" so far.   I think T ocellus is highly aggressive and even tried unsuccessfully to take over the xeno. I also wonder if it has hypnotic or telekinetic powers as I think it may have messed with the lady scientist's mind while she was feeding the "space ticks" and made her forget to put the seal back on the containment jar.   We only saw two of those ticks in the earlier episodes but it sure looked like there were a lot more on the loose after the engineering apprentice died.   I also don't recall seeing what caused the hole in the floor in the lab.  That seems to have been created before the advent of the xeno that we see creating havoc on the ship. So was there another xeno that we haven't seen yet or did I miss something?I too thought the Ocellus was trying to warn her. I think it was smart enough to perceive that the crew were vital for its safe transport to wherever it was going and then dying or letting other hostile organisms loose would pose a problem. I’m fully convinced it was trying to warn her but also convinced the Ocellus only cares about itself and its own self interests. It’s calculated so Xeno poses bigger threat than Humans. Had it won the battle with the Xeno, I wonder how it would have acted. But you bring up a very good point – how did the acid hole get there. You’re right, no Aliens had got injured or loose or cocooned there as far as we know… Plot “hole”… 😂

Lots of plot holes, starting with the first movie. They all need to be addressed.
