Thank you Neomorph for the timeline. Now for more of my next questions: If the xenomorphs and other creatures were already on Earth, why didn't anyone know about them? Why was Ripley's crew sent to that planet when the company already knew about those creatures? Who was that astronaut they discoverd and why did he have eggs in his ship? How did Ripley know he wasn't from that planet? What about the predators hunting expedition with the xenomorphs down in the ground underneath the pyramid? I wish they would just tie all the movies together. I have a gazillion questions and I would enjoy the movies and tv show more if they wer answered.

AVP is never going to be canon, not with Ridley Scott around. You can let that one go

I think she's a good actress btw. More of her and less of the other adult childroids who aren't nearly as interesting as Wendy.

@Neomporph, That timeline is incorrect, they have changed it since. Alien Earth is set in 2120, 2 years before the events of the original Alien. (To be fair to you, the timeline has changed a few times)

SvanyaAlien: Earth ForumWeyland-Yutani employs Cybrogs? Since when. Should have kept their tech exclusively Synthetics
Potentially old tech arguments, but the Cyborg seems quite advanced compared to the David 8 model developed 35 years AFTER the Maginot left Earth. You would think David would have been an advanced Cyborg as well if it was the “tech of the day”. This is why continuity matters and why I’m sad continuity doesn’t seem to matter for this series. 😔

Well, no Morrow is not more advanced than David. Morrow is just a human with some tech implants/upgrades and a cybernetic limb, David is a full on android and is completely artificial in construct.

There have been some cyborgs in the comics i'm pretty sure, though the comics are not considered canon.

SvanyaAlien: Earth ForumCan Wendy communicate with the Xenomorph?

I think she can, yes. At first I thought her wincing in pain and holding her ears was a sign she's rejecting her Synth body, like in Westworld, but now I believe she can communicate with the Xenomorph. It's something that was in the comics, I know they're not canon, but still, it's been done before.

Love SciFiAlien: Romulus 2 NewsDavid's drawings of Shaw and his experiments now online!

Hated Shaw and her boyfriend. She was responsible for the deaths of her crewmates which she clearly thought were way beneath her. Her stupidity and demands that no weapons or security be brought on the trip were the reason 2 men died. Hope they don't bring her back.

Would like to see a Covenant 2 movie so we can find out what happened to David, the 2 crew members, the people literally hanging out in the other room, and the frozen human embryos. Would also like to see the engineers, find out who and what they are, and why they wanted to end life on earth with the black goo that got them instead.

Indoraptor1++Alien: Earth ForumWhy did the xenomorph leak on two different individuals without causing any burns?

The drool is probably not acid. Dallas found some drool in teh first movie and was ok and also some marien found drool in Aliens and was fine. The monsters probably vomit the hive secretion but its not acid either but very sticky.

Previously I would have said this: AVP doesn't exist in the same continuity as Alien now largely due to Prometheus. With Predator Badlands now...who knows. I'd still say avp doesn't count towards Alien. Continuity in Alien is fickle. Romulus made sure Scott's prequels mattered but Noah Hawley wants nothing to do with them. There was nothing explicit in the first two Earth episodes that made Prometheus and Covenant obsolete but there was this promo video from Yutani that said the Maginot's mission has been active for 65 years meaning well before Prometheus...which just doesn't match with Prometheus. But it also seems she's in Control of WY almost as if there's no Weyland around to run the company.                                             Hell it seems Alien 3 and Resurrection are largely ignored by recent games, books and comics. Neomorph is right, loads of contradictions already exist.

Closest to an actual canon comes from the Alien rpg. The guy that runs it separates Alien, predator, and AVP into three separate continuities. Here's a link

check this.                                                                                                                     This image is also helpful uploaded image

Ultimately canon is what you make it in my opinion. Some people consider Colonial Marines canon. It's not but you absolutely can if you care about it. Don't care about Alien 3? By all means consider William Gibson's Alien 3 your canon 3. It has a graphic novel, book, and Audio drama now. And yes if you consider AVP canon by all means do so

ninXeno426Alien ForumNew Member? Introduce yourself & tell us what made you an Alien fan?

I honestly don't recall. I'm 35 years old. I grew up with Alien in the 90's with Kenner figures. Aliens was always a rental fave along with Star Wars. If we'd rent Alien I'd always want to rent Aliens even if we just rented it. I'd refer to Aliens as the "first one" because I'm certain it was the first one I saw. I remember getting the blue Kenner Warrior Alien which I still have and the guy checking us out at Kmart said where were these when he was a kid.                                                                                                                     I remember the first time i knew about Alien Resurrection was seeing the novelization at an Albertsons. I had seen all three movies and knew Ripley died. I then got to see Alien Resurrection in theaters at 7 years old. My first R rated movie in theaters followed close by Starship Troopers lol. The 90s were different. 27 year old me was flagged for ID when I saw Alien Covenant opening weekend because I looked young. Times have changed for sure. I've seen every Alien movie in theaters since Resurrection except for AVP Requiem. Was there for AVP opening weekend at 14. Saw Prometheus a month late at 22. Covenant opening weekend at 27 (already mentioned i know) and Romulus opening day at 34. Finally got to see ALIEN on the big screen last year too for its 45th(!) Anniversary. Hoping Aliens goes back to theaters next year for it's 40th and you can guarantee I'll be there. It's my favorite movie in my favorite franchise.                                                                                                                     I still play every game, read comics (though I just can't anymore with the current Marvel entries) and finally getting caught up with the Titan novels.                                                    I'll just quote Ripley on this one "You've been in my life so I can't remember anything else."

Avp is not the same universe as Alien franchise and Blade Runner and Alien are NOT same universe regardless how much you want it to be that way no matter how many connections you think you're making, you're being fooled by Easter Eggs left by an  Easter Hare, Juan.

I wonder if they are aiming for a more light-hearted approach for this show, as compared to those Alien films. The tone and tempo somewhat gives me Alien Resurrection vibe.

Yeah, I get Resurrection vibes as well. Not sure it’s intentional, given the pre-release interviews and sentiments but who knows.

Funny you mention this - YES! I am currently working on a SSO (Single Sign On) functionality across all of our hosted communities. It’s quite an intricate system to build and security is a top priority. But the short answer is - yes this is coming - and soon! Been working on it behind the scenes for some time now. 😎

Very true, we don’t really understand how Xenomorphs communicate, except for their Hive Mind connection. It’s very possible she’s able to tap into a form of sonar, I pray the explanation is an interesting and thought provoking one when it’s finally revealed. 😂

Don't think about "logic" too much as there are already contradicting factors in the timeline.

Neomorph Alien: Earth ForumCan Wendy communicate with the Xenomorph?

Maybe the upcoming episodes will shed more light on this. This is something I could definitely imagine Ripley 8 doing as she was a human xeno hybrid after all. Wendy is an android/synth whatever though so someone might've programmed her auditory sensors or "sonar" if you will to pick up a wider array of echoing wavelengths than any human could possibly detect. Not necessarily for the purpose of hearing xenos but maybe that's one of her unknown traits.

No, Morrow is a Cyborg - slightly different machine than the Synthetic Android seen in Alien and the rest of the films.

how could you guys not loving the show. The chasing and killing scenes are all incredible lol

I do enjoy the Xenomorph kill shots, the attack on the soldier outside the costume party was my personal favorite so far. The attacks are vicious as they should be and I applaud the show for keeping the Xenomorph aggressive and bloodthirsty. It certainly balances things out and keeps me eager to watch the next episode.

Agree somewhat. I couldn't find it but I recall a topic here years back where I mentioned Tool is a good match for Alien but hearing them in the show is different than saying they have the same vibe

Perhaps if the timing was chosen differently it would work better. Like make it part of a montage for marines gearing up or some assembling shot. It comes off corny to me to have a rock-laced intro to a climactic duel with a Xenomorph and a stand-alone child-brained robot wielding a paper cutter as a sword. I’m all for taking risks and trying something new but I feel like they could’ve matched the music selection better with the specific scene it’s used for. Maybe it’s a Television thing, who knows 😂 or maybe I’m just getting older and more opinionated. Lol

how could you guys not loving the show. The chasing and killing scenes are all incredible lol. They are indeed, and one of the few things I like about the series, especially the xenomorph. It's ultra vicious, lightning quick and the VFX crew and sound designer/s did a great job with the animations and heavy thumping sound effects respectively.

Because, that's not what I really liked about Alien, I liked the slow burn and psychological horror in Alien, not over the top gore. Also, I much prefer the Androids over the Xeno, I have for sometime. My biggest issue with this series is the two storylines don't seem to mesh well, imo. Feels like there's here's a disconnect. This amount of killing reminds me more of AVP, which isn't my fave, though I am looking forward to Predator: Badlands (because of the Androids, lol). Ironically, I enjoyed Alien Romulus more than this series so far (and before you say it, yes I know AR is violent).

Anyways, I don't hate the show, I have only seen 2 episodes, but right now the series is only a 6 or 7 out of 10 for me.

ChrisAlien: Earth ForumIs Weyland-Yutani run by a Robot? What the Xenomorph really is... My huge Alien Conspiracy theory!
Wait the Engineers wanted to prevent A.I. technology from developing on Earth back during the Iron Age? That doesn't make a lick of sense.

Not necessarily by OUR timeline, we have no idea if Mankind has cyclically repeated the same destiny over and over and over again. Civilizations have risen and fallen many times over. Who’s to say the Engineers already wiped out the last few batches of Humans once they reached that critical point in development where they could develop an A.I. to overtake the other biological dependent species in the universe. But cause of the outbreak on LV-223, the Engineers “slept through their alarm” and missed their mission to destroy this batch of Humanity. It could make sense!

Not a fan of the practical version though but that could've been fixed with shadows, more gloss and slime I guess. It reminds me of the runner from A3.

The eye absorbing jellyfish thing was creepy but it's only there for quick shock value like those grasshopper things, unless they flesh them out with some backstory expeditions.

Why is Peter Pan all over the place in this series? We already know the boy genius will never grow up. Wendy was very, very special according to him. The youth must have amazing strength now or they would not have been sent to the ship.
