You should, I truly recommend it. It is of course largely similar to the movie, but there is so much more in there that fans would appreciate. Things also just make a lot more sense.

There now and big news) Level for a demo is completely finished. (now to show everything, naturally I won't be) More we aren't distracted by it) there will be not so many Place, but nevertheless: About twenty rooms, apart from the small rooms adjoining to big, corridors (two and a half floors), tunnels, ventilyation, etc.

The report on work in a week.
The most part of time was occupied by the test of operability of colony. What everything correctly would work, a door hasn't pinched anywhere, Through textures didn't pass, etc.

Work with a sound, at each room the soundtrack is carried out (Pipes hoot, steam rustles, computers click, etc.). On the general background noise of the winds Acheron.

In some places the atmosphere of colony is finished, different recognizable objects, etc. are added.

At the moment all forces go and cutscenes and smoother of animation of NPS.

All thanks for attention, I hope to be pleasant to monitor to you the project, and all of you will wait for the full first act)

dkAlien: Covenant ForumLimits of gore

I am in the medical field. Seeing pus and such is actually a good thing- it is often a sign of healing, if that makes sense. Yeah- real stuff desensitizes many to movie stuff in many ways. The smells of gangrene is my only weakness though. Nothing can hide it. All you can really do is breathe through the mouth and even that doesn't quite cut it.

The little things in movies get to me the most:

1. I just re watched American History X and the prison rape scene was powerful. All you saw was some blood going down the drain with shower water. The kicker was knowing how that trauma happened without seeing it. You only hear it and imagination fills in the rest.

2. For Alien movies, the only gore that creeps me out is in AR, when Ripley 8 stabs her hand- slowly- and it bleeds. I always cringe at that scene but nothing else in the franchise bothers me.

I think for movies that a combination of imagination and a film using a less is more approach is best.

Nevermind my posts, thanks for the share, you are doing a great research job.

I am just deeply frustrated by not getting any news from Disney about our beloved franchise. And I feel Ridley Scott is frustrated too. He seemed to really want to continue the prequels as soon as possible.

The title chosen for that film Galaxy of Terror is totally uninspired, more suitable for a parody.

I don't like the path Cameron took with Aliens. On the other hand I think his films are dated, predictable and full of clichés. It is true they bring some novelty that can be assimilated better with a bag of popcorn. So I'm not a fan of the Cameron - the director.

I don't know about pyramids in alien films. They were replaced by those gigeresque domes in Prometheus,  it was a better choice in my opinion. Pyramids are associated with graves on earth and we haven't seen engineers burial grounds yet, only one of their city. And their city on planet 4 did not have a biomechanical look at all, it looked more like a blend of ancient egyptian,  roman and greek architecture. But also the engineers on planet 4 look more human than those on LV 223. So must be something more out there.

We need to know why those differences and how the thousands of eggs got on the derelict ship from Alien if they were on the ship at all and not in some silo underneath the ship.

We need to know who made the xenomorph.

We need to know who the SJ was.

I think most of the fans are now waiting for these answers rather than for another Ripley story or just some meaningless adventures in the alien universe.

But the ship lift of on January the 1st 2094, with David still being just a head. For me this clearly indicates that Shaw was already knowledgeable about Engineer tech by the time of the Crossing, where she is show operating a console of sorts if I remember correctly...

You could say however that images where David's lies, but that for me is not working.

Inconsistencies made br2049 much less enjoying for me than for others.

Great insights everyone! It makes me wonder if the Engineers were more involved in humans' history than just maybe seeding their planet. It could give strength to the idea that an Engineer was crucified by people and was why the Engineers got bent towards us.

OhioDude25 To get that far, humans would have had to learn warfare and how to kill to be able to develop the way to find the Engineers. Sort of a litmus test. Not a popular idea but fun to ponder.

Some Fantastic Work here... thanks for the Share ;)

I think with RS and his War of the Worlds comment, when we are looking at the scope of Prometheus Plot, we see the Xenomorph is but a small part, a Bio-Weapon..   what Prometheus shows us is Creation and the Engineers may have seeded other worlds.

What RS has opened up with Prometheus is the potential for multiple Races, which indeed opens up the Alien Franchise to be more like a Star Trek/Star Wars Franchise with multiple Alien Races.

I love many of those designs you shared, they show a varied design from various races.

BigDaveAlien: Covenant ForumWhy would the Engineers point humans to their military installation?

Which brings me to Planet 4....

These Engineers look different, they also have Females so why create Mankind?  This is a Topic for another debate i feel.

But if we look at the Reaction of those Engineers to the arrival of the Juggernaught, we see the Engineers Flock towards the Center of the Plaza where the Hanger is located.

We hear a Horn to notify the Engineers of the Return of a Ship, and these Engineers have NO FEAR for this ship..  Are they welcoming their Heros back from WAR?  Do they know one Target was Earth, if the only Target was Earth would they not Question how long the mission took, if the Targets are many Worlds maybe we can make sense of this..

Do these Engineers in their naivety and arrogance, feel that NO Engineer would turn their Weapon against their own kind, and that no Seeded Worlds or Creations would ever Evolve enough to make it to one of their worlds and steal the Juggernauts?

Again i think not.....

Again these are Genetic Space Gardeners, they hold Sacrificial Rituals to Seed Worlds....

The Hanger is surrounded by what look similar to Budha Offering Statues, that are holding like a Bowl..  I think the Engineers have EVOLVED their Seeding Technology... no longer do they use the Teardrop Ship and drop off a Lone Engineer to be Sacrificed.

They instead created/use the Juggernauts, they created a way to Sacrifice a Engineer and collect their DNA/Broken down Material and place this inside those URNS  If we took a Engineer placed him in a Shower Cubicle, maybe ran the shower? but give him the Sacrificial Goo and have his broken down material COLLECTED down the Hole and into some containers....   Then would not pouring these Containers into the Water Fall not give the same affect as the Sacrificial Scene?

If we consider this is what the Urns are and Juggernaught, if we consider a Sacrifice or Sacrifices are Chosen from the most Superior Genetics of their kind,  and these Chosen Engineers see this as a Great Honor, where they are IMMORTALIZED because their DNA will be passed on to create LIFE and also they then get a Statue Erected in the Courtyard to represent their Sacrifice thus becoming IMMORTALIZED  again.

Then this would make sense to WHY those Engineers had NO FEAR regarding the returning Juggernaught, this world is where the Engineers come and choose their STOCK for Seeding Worlds.

Having maybe a number of Engineers Sacrificed into a Substance that contains their DNA, would give them Diversity of DNA over the Lone Engineer Sacrifice.... and dropping the DNA from the Skies is more efficient than sending a Engineer to the Surface.

THIS is how i view Planet 4, it also backs up my theory regarding what LV-223 is and WHAT the Mural was in Prometheus... which is that they Sacrificed something related to the Xenomorph to make the Black Goo they intended to use on Earth,.. because at some point those Engineers came across a Parasitic Organism, they saw the Results as a way for maybe those LV-223 Engineers to Procreate and they WORSHIPED IT as being a Perfect Evolution/Offspring of those Engineers and they chose to Seed Earth with its DNA...  "

"Sometimes to create, one must first Destroy"

Jon Spaights Alien Engineers (original Alien Prequel concept) shows us similar, the Engineer took a Sacrificial Pose as he was broken down by the Sacrificial (Scarabs)....   Thus the Mural in Sacrificial Pose maybe means they Sacrificed the Deacon to make what ever is in the Urns on LV-223.  Originally the ALTAR in front of the Mural had the Sacrificial Bowl on it...  Replaced by Green Crystal for the movie.

BigDaveAlien: Covenant ForumWhy would the Engineers point humans to their military installation?

This is a Question thats been covered a number of times and one thats always interesting....  I think we get a lot of conflicting clues....

A number would come to conclude, as Janek said that this is a Bio-Weapons Facility, and RS had said the Black Goo was a Bio-Weapon.....

I TOTALLY disagree with this 100%

What does Prometheus show us, including comments by RS?  This is that the Engineers are Genetic Space Gardeners, and RS has mentioned this even after Alien Covenant.. The opening Scene in Prometheus is to show us a Seeding of DNA event that leads to the Creation of Life, but this process is not a ONE OFF.  the Engineers do this on many worlds...

Ridley Scott also mentioned in the run up and after Prometheus that the Engineers had came to Earth at Regular Intervals where they EVOLVED us both Genetically and Technologically.   We have no clear reason WHY we was created, but Prometheus certainly shows this is a IMPORTANT event and one that takes a lot of time before we get to Mankind, its a MASSIVE investment of time by the Engineers.

The Premise was that all of our Ancient Cultures, Mythos and Religions are actually based of Actual Interactions with these Engineers in the past, we viewed them as the GOD's they Genetically are connected to us, and came to teach us stuff over thousands of years.

The Archeological Finds by Dr Shaw and Holloway provided clues to what appears to be a Star Map, we can assume it was a grouping of Stars that fitted that pattern... this is a flaw as the Stars in the Sky could move about over thousands of years.

Some Stars will appear similar over time though, but if we look at the Orion's Belt and Imagine if the Star Map was this... for a moment....    The Problem here is that while from Earth these may look close together, they are in fact separated by GREAT distances, if we assume the Star Map was Orion's Belt, then the Question then would be ok... so which of these Stars are the Engineers pointing too...  so from you point about "pointing at the same Galaxy " i assume you mean same area of space as in Constellation that Matches..   The Problem we have is indeed we can see Constelations from Earth, but in reality each Star is separated by Vast Distances, so that in many cases the TWO Stars that seem closer together could actually be further apart than one of the other stars that appear further.

So then, are we looking at a System Map... so it shows say a collection of Planets?

But then Planets will move around its Sun and never be in the same place years apart.... so finding a system based on how Planets were laid out in a System at those Star Maps would be more than a Needle in a Haystack....  And more so if we say the Star Map is a Planet and its Moons.

so its likely to have been a Star Constellation..

Errors aside.. we are shown that these Star Maps are appearing at different stages on Earth, dating 35'000 years ago, and across many Cultures who had little or no contact with each other.

QUESTION? Why build a Military Outpost 35'000 plus years ago and leave Clues to it to early Mankind, and continue to show these Clues over thousands of years?

A Warning?  but why Warn us about it 35'000 years ago, and if it was a Military Outpost, or they planned to make one in future but felt they would show us where this place would be built 35'000 years ago?

If they had the Outpost 35'000 years ago, then why wait thousands of years to use the Weapon on us?  Would it make a difference if the Weapon was used on 19th century man, 100AD man, 500 BC Man or even Caveman?

Why visit us over and over and develop and interact with our Civilizations?

If the intention is to use the Bio-Weapon on us, and why show us a Map?  A Trap if we do Evolve to much and so we turn up and get infected?   A Warning like to say "if you dont follow our rules and worship us then we will bring death from here!"

Why build a Bio-Weapons Facility 35'000 years plus ago?  As a just in case our Creation get unruly precaution?

And HOW do they not seem to loose control of the Bio-Weapons for 33'000 years until about 2000 years ago?

Why Terra-form the Outpost? maybe so they can test how the Black Goo works in a Environment that is breathable to Humans?

All very much Flaws if you ask me....

So back to the Space Gardeners..

If you are a Normal Gardener/Farmer, with Plots of Land where you are seeding and growing and harvesting Fruit and Veg, or even Flowers.....    You aim is then to Perfect these Plant Life, you maybe are going to attempt experiments on them, hybridize them to create something NEW and Perfect.

Would you not want to experiment on New Versions and Hybrids and upgrades, in some kind of Green House/Nursery, and then when you are pleased with the results and feel that seeding them will not affect the Crop/Harvest you all ready have.  Then you seed these evolved/new Crops to the Gardens... Would that not make sense?

Now the Engineers are Genetic Gardeners, and if LV-223 was a Watchers Outpost to Watch over us from, and to take their Creations for Testing and then Reseed/bring back the favoured results to the Garden (Earth) then it makes more sense to what LV-223 was... and why it was Tera-formed so that Humans (other Life) on Earth can survive in this place?

I believe this is what LV-223 WAS.. until some point much latter, some point when something happened, that caused them to instead Engineer those Deacon like Organisms....

The Star Maps were THUS saying this is WHERE YOU CAME FROM.

BigDaveAlien: Covenant ForumDo you think the technology was unrealistic for 2093?

Here is another interesting video..

As far as ships in the year 2100, i would assume we would be looking Internally at a Prometheus meets Nostromo, and so the Covenant i feel is a good reflection... but again a lot depends on how far we are from moving people to Mars in large numbers (100's) and if we utilize some kind of Artificial Gravity, then the Necessity for Ships to be more advanced internally would be like the Covenant.

If not, i would say the internals of the Nostromo, but with Flat Screen TV Technology or even Hologram Glass Type Technology would be very plausible.

Reply
BigDaveAlien: Covenant ForumDo you think the technology was unrealistic for 2093?

As far as AI and Realistic Androids i think this depends on investment which depends on what value they put on the needs for it.

If the world Invests as much on Robotics, as it does on the Pursuit, Obtaining and  Refining of Fuel, be it Fossil Fuel or Nuclear.

Then that kind of money and investment i think we would see a rabid growth in Robots, where they would certainly become life-like but only limited to how real looking the Technology would be and how Advanced the AI would be.

Androids

The above video is from 2012 and bare in mind this is from a low budget company with Budgets like the Worlds Top Military spends and 5 years then we would get Robots with more real skin and movements... but certainly would still look not Human.

But with continued high Budget Spending and urgence then in 50 years who knows and i would say its not beyond us on high spending budgets to make a real robot that looks as real (or not so) and moves similar to the Terminator Special Effects shown HERE

As of right now..

If we look at THIS VIDEO

I would say Aesthetically, if we had the last 5 years invested Billions into Robotics, then Skin Wise etc we would be at this level now, but with much more fluid movements like this  FAKE ANDROID

so i think the movement of that FAKE Human acting as a Robot with the Aesthetic look of the other video or this ONE

Is something we could be capable of now... as far basic movement, but as far as being able to WALK, SIT, and LAY down... i think we would be about 10-15 years off..   So i do think if Science puts its mind and financial might to it, that in 25 years we would surely have Synthetics who would be hard to tell from Human, apart from the AI aspect..

The AI aspect is interesting, its hard to Gauge when you consider the Processing Power and AI of our most Powerful Computers compared to the even 25 years ago, never mind 40... then i think indeed who knows how Advanced they could be in 25-50 years.

I would certainly say Robots like in I-Robot, or Working Joe from Alien Isolation are not to far off, maybe 20-30 years and again a lot depends no the Urgence that is placed on the need for them, investments such as USA Military Budgets would certainly give us at least I-Robot levels of Robots in 25 years.

So in the year 2100...  i do think we could be close to Androids from Alien Franchise, i think at least we would be at the Half-Way point between a Walter, and those Basic Androids shown in the videos above.

Reply
BigDaveAlien: Covenant ForumDo you think the technology was unrealistic for 2093?

I think you would be surprised by Technology if its allowed to advance, there are a lot of restrictions of Technology and Medical/Genetic Science in regards to if such things are needed compared to what most Mega Corps/Powers deem are needed.

The Technological Layout of the Covenants Ship as far as its Input Technologies, Controls etc are something that we could realistically see in even 50 years, as far as the Control Functions of Standard Earth Sea Vessels of the Future.

I think if we went to Mars, then things would be more basic and simplistic, but certainly feel movies like the Martian, Gravity even those like Life and Cloverfield Paradox do represent what i feel Ships/Missions to the Moon, Mars and Space Stations would look like in say 50 years.

But not quite like in Covenant, until we have at least managed to start colonization on Mars/Moon to the degree we would be sending ships there regularly like every few years, AND once we manage to find a efficient way to have Gravity on these Ships.

I think its not beyond our means to see Ships Internally and maybe externally looking like the Covenant in 100 years, certainly in 150 years.

But not as far as Cryo-sleep, and more so FTL Travel, i thik Cryo-sleep to a degree could be reality in 50-100 years, maybe not as effective as in Alien Franchise.... but the Faster Than Light Speeds really depends on IF and WHEN we ever break those Laws of Psychics.

"But what do I know, I am just ignorant..."

Ha ha  ;)

But very good Questions indeed, i think a lot of problems regarding the Franchise, are a lot of inconsistencies, a trend to not pay attention to details and what happened in prior movies... Aliens got it kind of right...

But every little error, every oversight does offer for debates which Aliens continuation from Alien does not too much, but Alien 3 and the Eggs does ;)

A lot of times its down to simply not paying attention to details, one example is "where did Shaw get the Photo of her and Holloway from, that Daniels discovered?" was it by pure luck in the wreckage?  if not then why would it have ended up in Vickers Lifeboat..

So its little things like this, that have no explanations that we can just try our best to find some.

"wouldn't that infirm the theory that she was still infected"

Its something debated for sure, something we dont have no evidence really of if she was or was not suffering from some kind of infection.  some point out to her not looking too well in The Crossing which indeed could be down to her being ill, she looked it but then if it was the Black Goo, we have to really ask what kind of infection has she got, would it not act fast or does she only have minor residue left?   The other way to look at it would be having to Survive for Months on Rations of Food/Drink or even having to make do with Nutrition that simply was not good enough.

"I could understand that it has in the head some emergency batteries in his head, but how long can they last"

Maybe he uses the UK Brand Duracell lol  but seriously the Power Source is a good Question, he would have to have TWO Power Sources because being in TWO Halves had no effect as both his Body and Head were still moving... but maybe the body would eventually had ran out of power if it was sourced from the Head.  i am sure the Weyland Industries Website had information on the Technology in David and mentioned Power Source but as of Alien Covenant this site re-directs to Alien Universe site now, with no such information.

We do have to wonder how was David Charged up and Powered, and what Technology is needed to Re-charge him if needed?  This is just a Oversight, because we can see David has survived on Planet 4 for 10 years too..   He also was consuming that White Fluid in Prometheus, and we have to ask, what purpose was this for and how would he have access to any after Prometheus.  So indeed he has had no Maintenance in over 10 years.  With no explanations to how this effects him, it simply is a oversight.  (a question we should not be asking or deemed one that does not matter).

"why did he complain the he would be alone again"

I think it depends how we look at this statement, being alone again could be something you could say for even a short period, so its like your partner works 4 days away then is home for 4 days, and when they leave you could be saying "you are alone again" and so with David he spent some of his time alone studying the Engineers Ways.

"She wanted to ask questions but why didn't she study the ship's archive?"

Excellent point, i think we maybe need to look at the whole Crossing from the Point of Dr Shaw and David... they would be playing a Game of Cat and Mouse, a Game of Chess...

David would have his Agenda, he surely would not be pleased at remaining as a corpse with a separate head, because we find out David  actually is  quite a sentient being, more than a Machine.  And so he knows without Dr Shaws Help, he will remain in TWO pieces, and so he has to play a good game to make sure he can persuade Dr Shaw to put him together but also to make her realize or even mislead her that in order for her to get her Answers, and arrive at Paradise she would need David all the way.

Dr Shaw however is not fully aware of how Sentient David is, she would indeed however have seen what he was like in Prometheus and would have concerns about him and trusting him,  but she realizes she needs David to get off that Rock and take her to meet her Makers....     Its a case of really how much is David needed? I am sure David holds all the cards in this case and his objective would be to lure Dr Shaw to realize he is needed.   David would not reveal to Dr Shaw anything about the Engineers if he could find out from the computer, i think he would be playing to mislead her, because if She could get her Answers from the Ship, then she would not need David so much.

Shaw would know once David is put together he could be a massive threat, and once she is in Cryo-sleep he could go where ever he wanted to go...   Shaw is powerless but to eventually either Trust David, or Stay stranded on LV-223.

i think its likely David played this game with her, persuaded her to have trust in him.... but i think during this process he actually became quite fond of her...  But Ultimately he would have his own Agenda more over hers.

David would have known a bit about the Engineers already, he would know they maybe would not see the arrival of a Human and a Sub-Created Android as something to welcome with open arms.

Davids interest would be Survival, and also making sure that Dr Shaw survives,  he would not maybe risk meeting these Engineers on the chance they would welcome them...  for Dr Shaw she would be prepared for that risk, if its the only slim chance of Answers, she has NOTHING else.

so for David he would want to Study More about the Engineers so he can gauge what is the likely outcome of meeting them, which seems that David concluded he would be better off to Destroy them, knowing that in the aftermath he could venture down through their City, take a look at any of their Technology, Writtings and any other information he could gain from the Ruins of their Society and maybe piece together some Answers for Dr Shaw, or at least something he could propose as answers and you could maybe be sure he would have told her he had no choice to bombard the Engineers, or it was a accident etc.

But again this is really just how i see things, and so its not to say this is what went down...   I think its something open to debate, where each can take what they can from any clues, because the only real information we have is that David had been there for about 10 years so thats 9.5-10.5 Ball Park (providing he has not lied to the Covenant Crew) and we know the Earliest the Juggernaught would have set off would be Jan 1st 2094 and so that means we have a 10-11 year period of time prior to the Covenant arrival, from when David and Shaw reached Planet 4.

Its case of the 0-1.5 years year approx from Jan 1st 2094 to when they arrived at Planet 4 and how much of this time was spent Traveling, how long was spent for her to Put David Together and Dr Shaw go into Cryo-sleep and a IF David then directly headed to Planet 4.

I think the BIGGEST Question would have to be "what would David logically do" once Dr Shaw was in Cryo-sleep he could go any place, and could have gone any place....

Where did he learn the Engineers Ways?  From the Juggernaught?, did he already know enough from LV-223 or could he had gone back down to LV-223?
