Although we've known Alien: Romulus will take place between the original Alien and James Cameron's sequel Aliens for some time now, actress Cailee Spaeny who stars in Fede Alvarez's upcoming Alien sequel, has confirmed the timelime in a recent interview with Variety! She also mentions how the team at Legacy Effects and Studio Gillis were involved and were the ones responsible for building the film's Xenomorph suits, which we reported on earlier this year!
It’s supposed to slot in between the first movie and the second movie,” Spaeny tells Variety’s Michaela Zee. “They brought the same team from ‘Aliens,’ the James Cameron film. The same people who built those xenomorphs actually came on and built ours. So getting to see the original design with the original people who have been working on these films for 45-plus years and has been so much of their life has been really incredible.
