Zzzzzz.... Zzzzzz... Zzzzzz....

1. David having tea with a corpse(sitting at a table...or surrounded by corpses in a pinwheel design on the floor of the Covenant ). Then another one:A graveyard in space(floating sleep chambers)

1. Dead silence.....no music...pulsing images...black and white photos….then fading to red photos…Then a normal trailer. Not revealing much though.

1. 30-60 male

1. No CGI. Again..No CGI...selling point.

1. Characters and story...Thriller less gore.

1. NO CGI...OLD school filmmaking 70mm...What you see is what you get.

1. One of the Covenant sleep chambers is inhabited by a half android/synth,  a modified human…..sympathetic character.

1. Shot entirely on the Covenant..Deep space...Low budget...most money to the actors.

David is having problems….visited by ghosts of his father and Shaw.

Mother is seeing David as a threat to the crew. She releases Daniels and Tennessee...they hide from David who has locked all ship commands. Mother still has control of life support and she can override for seconds at a time many subsystems(airlocks, sleep chambers, etc)

David has replaced his blood with the Black Death/plague(black goo) A scene shows him draining some goo from his arm into a vial....He has released some colonists and is injecting them with the pathogen...all under the supervision of Peter Weyland. “Good David. Excellent work”

Mother routes Daniels and Tee through ductwork to a wing of colonists she has revived. The colonists have skills mother thinks may help, one is half synth.

David finds Daniels and Tee missing! Gets mad and destroys much of the laboratory. Threatens Mother.

Cat and mouse action.

..Mother helps in cornering David in an airlock...but it’s a stalemate, he has the plague and they don’t dare kill him...The colonists, who David infected, start to turn into monsters(fifield like….again NO CGI)swarm the ship.

Zombie crunching action(Mother vents some into space, smashes some with airlocks, etc…)

David has attached himself to a junction box...Partially uploads himself into Mother, able to control her. He terminates life support and vents the ship….They find David and his plague infested body(moldy David)...the synth/human hybrid sacrifices his/her life to battle David and sever his connection to Mother.

She/He(not sure yet...make the studio decide male or female part)kills David...rips him apart...the hero/heroine dies of the plague and injuries suffered in the battle...Mother vents her into space.

Survivors are worried about Mother, Mother says the David virus has been terminated...the movie ends as they wonder if the nightmare is over...can they trust Mother...Is David really gone from her?

Lilly (Svanya) - Oh, Lilly, I have just realised that Walter does not step back in that scene. Walter wanted that kiss, too. :D

Ati Your ads are just like the commercials for Ubik in the PKD novel of the same name. They are hilarious really :-)

JOHNNYMORPH - Yes, I think you're right, David looked fatter, but I think that was intentional since they wanted to show that he hasn't had access to spare parts, etc. But it was a mistake, because in this way Walter looked fat as well. Making of Assassin Creed was very close to Covenant's, Fassbender looks in that movie OK... better than OK. More training, more muscles, you look more... :) So he looked more in Covenant as well, but his face was not OK, I agree with you.

Starlogger Yes. The Engineers' and the xenomorphs' evolutions are intertwined, that is obvious to me. And David does not have anything to do with it. It is time to stop the android psychodrama and think about delivering some real sc-fi.

 Ati It is becoming difficult to tell if you are just enthusiastic or starting to spam with that message- again- a fine line since it supports the franchise.........;)

The FOCUS on David as a main character is what I didn't like. He is merely PART of the evolution of a magnificent being that was a threat to the Engy's at least 2000 + years prior. NOW, it is time to expand the story and explore THEIR point of view and part(s) in the story...

AND finally to REALLY show who the "Space Jockey" on that derelict REALLY is. NO ONE buys that it was a 9 foot engineer. No one. I will not accept that. So, I'm ready for an "Uber" Engineer or something of the sort. I can accept the "suit" concept, but not the size differential. We HAVE to have THAT story.

Giger is art. Period. Art is freely consumable and should not be censored. It's up to parents to control access if they choose to do so.

Probably we should have a restricted, password enabled section :-) And not everybody thinks porn cannot be art. Even Stanley Kubrick wanted to make a porn movie.

David8 didn't ruin Alien Covenant, the negative issues with the movie are much more varied.

Michael Fassbender did a great job playing David8/Walter, he's in my opinion, maybe the best actor in the World if we consider his performances over the last 5 years.

One thing I noticed about Alien Covenant, David8 seemed to have put weight on, looked bigger. In Prometheus, David8 was very thin.

However, there is still hope future installments will move away from the mad scientist plot and go back to the real marrow of this franchise, which is cosmic horror.

Hope you get feeling better BigDave, we need you strong to carry us forward. Trying not to lose faith in Fox but how they didn't see some of these problems coming with AC is beyond me. They could lower budget and finish the prequels without paying Scott big money or Fassbinder if he requires it. Just throw in a few answers that linger about Prometheus and deal with the leftovers + tie in from Covenant to A1. The hardcore fans will show for opening weekend and if it uses smart writing and believable dialogue like the first 3 films and is generally entertaining = word of mouth will help make the box office a success for the following weeks. Why cant the studio go back to its roots of picking first time directors to carry each new installment. Why is RS the self appointed king of the alien sandbox. Very disappointed in everybody involved with AC. Really could have been special. Hope your facehugger in your a-box gets delivered dk. Its a bummer paying for something only to never recieve it as they are usually experts at taking your ! money. That would make such a charming stuffed companion for all occasions and fashions!

That said, we need to be careful with imagery that is posted. It can be a fine line between art with sexual connotations vs overt pornography. I am reminded of a time when some one hacked BigDave somehow and had a Japanese style Hentai (I think that is what it's called) image of fellatio posted as his sig.

definitely not! David needs a really strong Engineer and/or human counterpart someone capable of opposing him. He has sort of been flying under the radar so far. With his transmission to W-Y at the end of Covenant I think he has signalled his intention to become a true antagonist.

dk - Oh, yes, I hope it's not too adult, I like it very much, it was created by Luis Royo, the same artist whose concept art image you like so much from my 'Visual Ideas' post.

As for me, it would be good to see something similar in a future Alien movie, I like traditional robots very much.

Everybody jumped the gun before even knowing that the OP wrote... :-) Because, in a way, the exaggerated focus on David together with the neglect of the human element of the story did ruin the movie.

He was the best part aside from all the cool set pieces and aliens. Also the themes were awesome.

Starlogger Yes. There is a story in that pic. It makes me wonder if the just got done doing some killing? Is he awaiting an inevitable attack? The image is small enough that I cannot actually decide what gender the person is. At any rate, I agree that the image is very striking.
