@Ati  Yeah those are my boys, haha. But what does that have to do with the beginning of March, haha. We shall rip this movie to shreds again and again and again and again. I think it's all just a coincidence really and truly aside from after I saw the garbage that is Covenant and had to rant. I could give two shits when this crap is released on digital HD. Beware of so called trolls which equals people with a different opinion which by the box office and reaction from the general public us trolls are actually in the majority except on this site.

'Yeah go away trolls who are on this site like a couple times a month or so which somehow equals all the time. Go through my history last time I was on here since last night was the end of June, the 29th and 30th and the first of July, haha. And before that it was over a month when I was on the 18th, 19th and 20th of May and then before that it was the beginning of March, somehow that makes me on here all the time, hahahahaha.' - by Curt Connors

So this comment reveals that the user/the user name is here on the site when there is an event around Covenant when the similar negative and destructive comments can be used against the success of the movie with the highest efficiency.

Namely, right after the movie release, and now right before the digital HD release: August 1.

Similarly to the comments made against the movie and Scott by the user names joylitt, phallic jaw, capt torgo, and colonialsoldier...

ALIEN1979Alien: Romulus 2 NewsRumor Control: The Alien franchises future is assured!

I see there are people defending Ridley and AC a lot.

I must say that some people should open their eyes and mind that we have to admit that Ridley lost his touch. While his visuals are still great (except of the cheap CGI scenes of the xeno), the way the story is being narrated in thw movie (unlike in the AC novel) is below acceptaple standards for a block buster movie. It's only ok for cheap b movies where all characters act like dummies and cannon fodder.

Too many scenes were too predictable.

Dr. Curt ConnorsAlien: Covenant ForumHey, raise your hands - who has NOT seen Alien:Covenant?

The perfect example of that is Spider-Man: Poopcoming that somehow has a 92% but if you are a Spider-Man purist is pure garbage. No reasons necessary except for he pretty much has to be bailed out in every fight, never really wins one, doesn't need a suit that tells him what to do, Aunt May is a milf, they have stupid Michelle say call me MJ which is by far the biggest sin in that movie which means there will be no actual Mary Jane Watson and Holland is a whiny bitch, etc. Oh wait there are plenty of reasons just like people who don't like the almighty Covenant.

I wonder about Rotten Tomatoes sometimes. It seems like a movie could get a 90% or above score and some troll will come along and rate at a 10% with a comment stating that it sucks with no details- seemingly to just drag the overall score down.

What gets to me is the release day got bumped to August when it was supposed to ship last week.

I hope you are correct. I know myself and many members helped the BR be listed as a best seller.

Haha, good joke (Rorschach voice). The key thing here is #1 best seller in Blu Ray science fiction as this thread says. I'm sure the terrible looking Geostorm will be a #1 best seller in Blu Ray science fiction when it comes out, haha. Don't get your hopes up people.

It is quite the decent movie, and MOST people think the same. Do not let the negative nancies who didn't see the movie that THEY wrote, apparently, get you down. You'll enjoy it if you like good movies. There's a reason why it has a 65%+ rating on Rotten Tomatoes from agglomerated reviews. It is most certainly not a "bad" movie.

I honestly think A:C is going to smash it with BR / DVD / HD sales. I really think it is something a whole multitude gonna go for. This will guarantee us another prequel, then when the dust settles on it we go again.....

ALIEN 5 ? REBOOT ? Sequel to Aliens ? Spin off ?

If Aliens never happened the Alien franchise would not exist. As much as I'm not a fan of Cameron, aside from Aliens and the first two Terminator movies, you wouldn't be getting these crappy new movies if it wasn't for Aliens. That movie made this franchise even more successful and changed sci-fi even more than Alien. You might say Blade Runner but Blade Runner was not received well initially, it got a following long after it came out in theaters. Aliens changed sci-fi whether you like the movie or not, Sigourney Weaver was nominated for an Academy Award for best actress in the 80s for a sci-fi movie, that's insane. Aliens brought sci-fi into a whole other level for the general audience and is why Alien movies kept getting made and still continue to. They're hoping to catch that lightning in a bottle again but it ain't gonna happen.

VivisectedEngineerAlien: Covenant ForumCheck Out My Xeno Cake!!!

@dk

Thanks! He didn't give any indication of it, but I do sort of hope the baker is a fan...otherwise I may have coerced an imaginative artist who's accustomed to sculpting flower bouquets and peaceful sleeping fawns into studying and recreating something just a tinsy bit disturbing.

He didn't have any like material on his website, but I chose him because he had a lot of really realistic looking sculpture cakes. Maybe my request inspired him to watch the movie and he became a fan?? I can dream, right?

@IRaptus

Thanks!! (I didn't make the cake though, I just commissioned it from a local bakery. So, good job to the baker! :) Actually, when my husband and I went to the bakery to pick it up, I started jumping up and down and shouted "Oh my God! It looks just like the PERFECT ORGANISM!")

@Something Real

Yes! Inside the cake was chocolate, and had several layers with white vegan "butter-cream" icing in between them.

The cake itself tasted good, and the icing inside the cake tasted very good. However, the layer of fondant around the outside of the cake and the xeno itself tasted a little bland.

I cut off a few slices of the xeno's head saying "I'm going to eat him and gain his strength!" But when I ate them, they were not very sweet and were a little tough. So, I left the rest of the mutilated xeno on a plate in the fridge, to startle people every time the fridge door was opened, until I threw it out :)

@ali81  Thanks   @hox   I thought the hahahaha's would've made it known that I was making a joke and yes I am serious about my dislike for this movie but I also like to joke around. Some people take things way too seriously on here, if you like the movie great the thing is everybody doesn't and I am one of those who doesn't. I have taken my dislike and turned it into humor which was not the case when I initially saw Covenant I was furious but I got over it pretty fast and turned anger into laughter. In my opinion this "work is dumb and stupid", it's an opinion.

I think as a film A:C is very entertaining and a pretty decent action/horror and if you love the franchise you should enjoy it.

IMO The only reason A:C let down is when you take it as a direct sequel to Prometheus (as they told us it was) It is lacking as a sequel. Not as a stand alone movie.

This all goes down to the pathogen and what it is

A:C David said the pathogen takes many forms which is confusing things now.

So if the pathogen was not protected then you assume it is not for a warring purpose. Now the pathogen David released in A:C was brought from LV 223. In fact it was on a Jugganaut ship that they took from LV 223 to Planet 4/Paradise. Well that is what we were told.

This causes the destruction we see in A:C to the Engineers on Planet 4

I have a quote from an earlier script which we cant consider canon but is a very interesting conversation between The Sacrificial Engineer and The Elders where they explain the Black Goo is the blood of the lord amongst other things.

Ali81 - Yes. Why not ?  The Engineers may have won a terrible, possibly centuries long war in which they destroyed a longstanding rival beings. The universe is so open at the minute we have endless possibilities

like all movies each is open to everyones opinion. I rank it as my 2nd favourite alien movie in the franchise and although I certainly prefer the egg morphing method, I don't discount the queen given the right set of circumstances

would def point to the engineer either not wearing the suit or that the suit is removable

Reply
KetholAlien: Covenant ForumShedding Some Light on David's Lab

If you are referring to the Engineer posed in David's lab, it had no biomechanical skin "suit". The entire body was not skinned, just just most of the front. The rest was just white skin, including the skin held in its hand. Look closely at the picture posted near the bottom of the previous page.

James Cameron nearly ruined Alien. The Queen and all that. That movie didn't really happen in the Alien Universe. You'd do good to forget it.

Mutual Assured Destruction (MAD) works as a nuclear deterrent, but you still have to ensure there is a whole lot of security and safety measures in place.

If your nuclear missiles easily malfunction or your bio-warhead leaks like an old tap, then any terrorist can easily activate it, and the whole point of deterrent fails.

For example, if some terrorist can easily walk into a facility and shoot a nuclear missile into Russian airspace, then you immediately get total annihilation for everyone. Weak security will inadvertently lead to the end result which the deterrent was meant to avoid in the first place.

Unless contrary facts arise, I still contend that those leaky vials of black goo does not conform to weaponry or warheads given their lousy security and safety design and storage measures.

From sources, the Scorpion ship had fought back on the Juggernaut.  Here is a better question, where are the pilots from the Scorpion after it was shot down?  Past threads have shown the screenshot of the Scorpion crashed near the circle.

challenging is one thing, its part of what makes the site great. everyone giving their opinions and debating different ideas. but ur challenging in a different manner in ur response to his opinion. by all means u may disagree and have the right to voice that, hell we cant all agree on everything. but at least challenge in a respectful way and give everyone the respect ud like to be shown urself. im not looking for an argument, iv just seen several, and it is only a very very small minority, people being condescending in their tone and get quite personal in their replies towards others views and opinions and that's not what this site is for imo.

ali81Alien: Covenant ForumThere is no way David could escape from Walter

his point is as valid as anyone elses about the timeline when david is meant to switch with walter. the ship isn't that far from the survivors, at most about 10 minutes away when they start running, while they r running, david and walter r still fighting so they have a head start. so david has to stab walter, change his clothes which isn't easy as walter will weight more than a human and be a dead weight and that includes dressing walter in case he is discovered, chop his arm off, obtain the relevant codes from walter required to access the various areas of the ship and no doubt access the computer/ MUTHUR AND repair his voice? AND catch up with the survivors before they get to the ship. and u don't see a hole in this? Ridley has stated david takes walters place which is fine but there is a serious over sight in authenticity here. its not much to ask for some believability after all its the paying public who pay their wages at the end of the day.

@ali81, everyone is indeed entitled to an opinion. But when those opinions extend to declaring that a body of work is dumb and stupid when it clearly isn't should be challenged. By the same token, I expect any assertion I make to be challenged if it is in error.

I'm a recent poster to this site, so I don't know of the reincarnated know it all you mention.
