While news on the still-untitled online shooter Alien game by Cold Iron Studios remains stagnant as Disney figures out what to do with their newly acquired Fox assets, a new leak may offer some promising insight to what fans and players can expect when this game finally gets released!
According to a new anonymous leakster on 4Chan, the online Alien shooter will reportedly take place several years after the events of Hadley's Hope in James Cameron's ALIENS and players will once again assume the roles of Colonial Marines who are sent out to combat a fast-growing Xenomorph threat on a Colony planet. Check out the leaked quote:
The timeline is set several years after Aliens, and immediately follows Alien: Infiltrator. You play as one of several Colonial Marines aboard the USS Henley-in-Arden (acting as the main hub world) with Destiny/Borderlands-style character presets. You’re tasked with making regular trips onto a backwater planet after Pala Station crashes into the surface, unleashing Aliens which wreak havoc on the local Colonies and crossbreed with wildlife.
Monetization for cosmetics, such as skins, armor decals, weapons, allow for plenty customization options. Plenty of Easter eggs from the franchise too.
Alien: Infiltrator is an upcoming novel writtedn by Weston Ochse which will act as a prequel to Cold Iron's Alien game and is currently set for a December 29th release date (the release was originally slated for June 2020, but was pushed back).
If this leak is true, it will be rather interesting to see a variety of new Xenomorph incarnations as the hostile alien spore infects native wildlife on the new planet.
Unfortunately, beyond this leak we have no other sources to confirm or deny the validity of its claims, so we urge readers to take the information shared in this post with a grain of salt until we know more.
