Imagine if David's experiments on poor Dr. Elizabeth Shaw had resulted in her becoming a Xenomorph / Human hybrid of sorts - a combining of ancient Alien DNA and the seeded life of the Engineer race. We know from interviews that the Xenomorph was not created by David alone, but was a tweaking of an existing genetic makeup previously exploited by the Engineers. We also know that David did mutilate Shaw and use her body as a vessel for his attempts at modifying and splicing the Alien genome with Human / Engineer DNA - essentially creating the perfect organism... to hunt and kill Humans and Engineers. Unfortunately despite the intriguing backstory, Shaw's screentime was relatively nonexistent, with a brief shot of her corpse being shown near the end of the film. Many fans complained that Shaw was killed off too soon and that her role in Covenant could have and should have been far more prominent.
One fan, Alien-Covenant.com forum member Pred'Alex recently joined up and shared a ton of unique artwork he created, inspired by Alien: Covenant and its sequel (potentially titled Alien: Awakening), giving Shaw a more redeeming and fascinating role. He titled his piece "Xeno-Shaw", for obvious reasons and the quality of his work is something that would have made the late H.R. Giger proud. Blending the biomechanical aspects of the Xenomorph, he created various designs and rough storyboards involving the birth and functionality of the Alien-Human hybrid abomination, if it were to ever be realized on film. Check out some of his concepts below:
He also created a pretty sweet concept for an Engineer vehicle:
He has created two forum topics so far which house his artwork. You can check them out here and here.
