Dear Frantz,
You have a much more idealistic outlook and opinion regarding governments than I do. Personally, I wish you were right...and that I could agree with you. Unfortunately, I do not. Our shape-shifting Aliens, Graduate from law school, pass the Bar exam, and sometimes even hold office for 4 to 8 years. I like your world better than the one I believe we live in. Lets pray for that.

im not that idealistic ...i think that 80% of people are basically dumb ...so 80% of our governants are dumb ... plus add a 15% of criminals .
the difference is that i dont see difference ..they lie , they steal , the do good things no more and no less than us ...they arent a different breed .

If nothing else, lol, I truly respect your candidness Neurion.
At least you are a transparent hold nothing back No B.S. kind of guy.
You speak what's in your heart and I have great respect for that even when I do not agree with it.
Cheers.

I'm sorry but who asked for Political discussion here to begin with? This is a forum about Alien and things associated with those films. If I wanted to hear toilet talk, boo hooing and whining about how Young White Males are being disrespected in the U.S, I'll go to a KKK Rally or maybe a GOP Convention.

Is it? or Isn't it? We were just getting to the answers...of why they will make the first gay sex androids, that service the Outer Rim colonies, white."

Hey Miser42,
I think the White guy you want to point your finger at is me. I’m the one who brought up traditional male and female film roles in films…in regard to “THE THING” prequel. Then it just sort of evolved…or devolved into this. Sorry about that folks.
In my experience, the most stimulating and interesting conversations often include multiple subjects…especially subjects that tend to be taboo. So, I guess I may have stepped on a dick or two. Sorry about that. God forbid the conversation expand into different frontiers. Whew...now I realize not everybody’s ready to discuss social-political attitudes that affect and influence the arts. Funny thing is, according to Ridley Scott…the “PROMETHEUS” film is not an ALIEN film, but a “new, grand mythology and universe in which this original story takes place.” So there you go “Miser”…This website is not really for an ALIEN movie/prequel either (as much as we’d all like it to be). You know…I actually thought of posting my original statements in a more appropriate form on this same website…if there is one, but “The Thing” prequel, and it’s trailers were being discussed on this thread. I’ll try to manage it better next time.
Just go ahead and swallow that blue pill, Ahhhhh…ignorance is bliss!

Oooh! Ya got me Biomechanic! That’s what I’m after…attention. Ya know…I agree with a lot of what you’re sayin.’ None of this stuff is new. It’s all very old…ancient even. And I agree that my post was too long winded, and that the Protocols of Zion were, and are racist. However, I think it’s possible you may have that in reverse.
I have made no personal attacks on this thread, whereas as you seem to be getting very personal, didactic, and mean-hearted in regard to my views, theories, and assessing my mental stability. My post mentioned “groups” and “ideas”, your messages regarding my perspectives and mental state have been vindictive and personally disparaging. I originally sought only to use a macro vs. a microscope on the modern Science fiction/Horror film genre.
In spite of our possible differences in opinion, your writing is intelligent, and in fact you seem like a very sharp person. I mean that sincerely…not sarcastically like before. Perhaps we just got off on the wrong foot. Let’s not continue this…and try to find an area of the O’Bannon/Giger/Scott universe, that we enjoy in common. Sorry about the smart-ass sarcasm before.

Biomechanic,
Thank you for all your copying and pasting…nothing like a little “free press.” I think it’s pretty obvious that I’ve stepped on a personal nerve here, and I would apologize for that, except you’ll probably just reject it any way. I wish you luck in your vexation.

Intresting post, frankly i'm delighted the ripley character is not in Prometheus .
I think they pushed it with the 3rd and fourth to such ridiculous levels that the franchise was ruined for me after the second film.
The whole gnosis of the alien film never for me centred on the ripley character although of course she was the original films eventual heroine and this was capitalised to a grander point in the second, but for me the star of the film was always giger's alien and the sense of a genuine alien atmosphere and surreal forboding uncertainty the film so well portrayed.
I guess its hard for those not around in 1979 to fully appreciate just how ground breaking and totally new that kind of film making was in those days, although its well documented on those points.. still it was hard to put into words just how it felt seeing it at that time and the witnessing the response to the films impact.
I always felt that the film had so much scope for some remarkable sequels and that the very nature of the films set and setting was open to the imagination to really go to town with whatever direction you cared to take it in .
By the time we got to the thIrd film the whole thing had become so Convoluted and predictable it lost all of its mystic and for me it was like watching a film about a space lizard on the rampage.
I look at Giger's original artwork and their lies the answer why was'nt that world more exploited and replicated into the stories even the alien became like an extra from Spielbergs Jurassic park . I wanted the insect ultra intelligent demonesque creature with those giant black eyes and mushroom coloured skin that communicates its intentions like a sociopathic octopus that can assimilate its environment by Camouflage. The Necronomicon painting fires the imagination of what could have been.

Mmmmmmmim i'm thinking sucker punch as a prime example lol . (Fucking spice girls )
Well i don't have a problem with female gender roles being portrayed in an unrealistic fashion after all cinema is escapism and not a literal fact of life, especially in the sc fi fantasy genre.
The one thing I did get tired of was the over reliance of the Sigourney weaver character in the sequels to alien and aliens , i'm so glad they are having a complete change of direction on that front .
After the second film it just got ridiculous that the subsequent films were determined to include the Ripley character. For me the alien films were never grounded by the ripley character or the appeal of the films it has and will always remain the artwork and world of Giger's creation that drew me to the stories but after the second film i felt they became parody's of themselves (even though i understand David Fincher was undermined by fox to deliver the story he wanted to tell) i still think there were a multitude of directions the films could have explored that were not related in any way to Ripley's character.
I for one wanted a return to the Necronomicon original alien design where the alien resembled an ultra intelligent insectoid, bio-mechanical creature, and the world in which it inhabits so eerie and bizarre.
The look of the creatures were so integral to the appeal that I was anticipating something that truly resembled that original artwork , those huge bug eyes, and that mushroom coloured skin, the enormous head and tail, a creature that had super senses, and could possibly Camouflage it self like some sociopathic instinct driven merciless octopus.
Some may argue that the majority of the creature effects represented some of those ideas but for me the creature became more and more like an extra from Spielberg's Jurassic park.
Given the budget of the first film and the nature of the effects industry's infancy at that time the creature effects were remarkable, but James Cameron took it to another level again especially with the alien queen designs, Still i believe that the essence of the surreal and totally bizarre world of the alien creature and the alien itself are yet to be fulfilled and i'm hoping that this film in some way goes towards correcting that or at least opens the door for future franchise film makers to deliver the Xenomorph experience we were all hoping for in the first place after the initial two films.

I blame the spice girls lol.... or sucker punch NOW THAT WAS CRAP.
I do have some sympathy and can relate to what neurion is saying even though i'm on the fringes of what he believes to be the case .
Another point in question is Samuel L Jackson's role in iron man totally inappropriate for the role of Nick Fury .
All in all though we're essentially debating the merits of pigment and DNA , history and Hollywood can't erase the achievements of white males or any other creed for that matter its all to well documented.
As for the Jews running Hollywood well there simply wouldn't be a Hollywood without them metro Goldwyn mare etc to numerous to mention .
Independence day was a real Jew Fest and will smith and Jeff Goldblum save the world Single-handedly but hey that's why these films are labelled fantasy lol.
No one with an ounce of common sense takes Hollywood or tv media seriously and no matter how history is distorted through these mediums you have to be pretty dense to take it on face value .
Its not new that TV dumb's down its output for mass consumption and Hollywood is no different i suggest viewing more independent films and as for T V just throw the thing away lol. Same goes for most newspapers.
Tv or heroin what's your drug of choice.
