Yeah, sounds like it is really taking shape.The big thing for me is that he hints the Space Jockeys are not the engineers, or there are good and bad Jockeys.Also, the Prometheus link becomes more apparent, much more than just the name of the ship.It is now starting to come together for me,good and bad Jockeys/higher beings, uncivilized behaviour, the Prometheus angle, all starting to make sense :). [i]Mr. Scott's just-completed film "Prometheus" represents his first sci-fi release in nearly three decades. The movie, he said, is about "a higher being who challenges the gods" and is punished for his temerity. The screenplay for "Prometheus" was written by Damon Lindelof and Jon Spaihts. While Mr. Scott refrains from calling it a prequel to "Alien," the last eight minutes of the "Prometheus" story evolve into "a pretty good DNA of the 'Alien' one," he said. Nonetheless, Mr. Scott said computerized effects don't mean much without a strong story, which is why he has worked for years to develop the scripts for his current projects, and why he has such respect for sci-fi writers. "The hardest single thing to do is write a screenplay or book," he said. "I'm not a writer, really. I get on very well with writers because I know they're my best friend."[/i][b][/b]

so the higher being can be really that poor space jockey fused on the chair ..chestbusting every night :p

Fitting theory for the new movie, the space jockey being the challenger and eventually being punished..hmmm...sounds good guys.

So when we go to their homeworld, we stole something there(stole fire from the god), and they start to punish us in horrible ways !!!

I hope they release a trailer soon! I understand that they are not wanting to reveal too much, but that does not mean they can't put up some form of teaser.

Start a "Occupy Fox" until they give in and place out a trailer...might work or might not.

Pretty much that is what we will get...I suppose that is why he shot footage for the trailer so the real footage is not shown and keeps the story in the darkness.... but to the peeps getting kicks faking things...to the gallows with them.

All of the little comments being dropped by Ridley & Co. are making me think that we will see [i]very[/i] little of the "Alien" itself in this movie. In fact, I don't think we'll see recognizable Space Jockeys either, until the end. Ridley already hinted that the Space Jockey may have been wearing some kind of bio-mechanical suit, so the actual creature itself may look different. I believe those creatures - the original engineers/terraformers of Earth - will figure prominently in the second/third act of the story. I also think "Prometheus" will indeed refer to one of these engineers, who breaks from the rules of his own society to share their terraforming/life-creating technology with the human crew that finds them. I wouldn't be surprised if, at the end, "Prometheus" will be punished by being subjected to the very technology he tried to share - a xenomorph. Perhaps he's impregnated with it, escapes in a ship, but crashes on LV-426, where he ultimately perishes from a chestburster (but only after initiating a warning signal). The eggs on the ship all came from that creature (open to debate, since there are many variants on the alien's lifecycle). Since I expect some of the human crew to survive, perhaps the information they share is the catalyst for interest of Weyland-Yutani in the Zeti Reticuli system. Maybe that's why ships passing through that area of space are listening for distress signals in the first place. If the story followed such an arc, it indeed has links to Alien but would truly be a standalone film. That makes it pretty interesting as a prequel, in my book. Any thoughts?

Where's Wierzbowski, how did you get that name?? lol Yes I couldnt agree with you more on the plot; I always thought the name Prometheus will refer to one of these giant creatures.

Lets just waith, after all this expectation, tath prometheus fullfils what has promised to be.

Spacejock, It's from Aliens when they first make contact and he disappears and the gun bag is on fire. Hick's asks where's Wierzbowski? Damn.....I think I have that whole movie memorized that's scary. Regards, Rick

You've gotta admit that it's funny that Wierzbowski never shows up anywhere in that film. The poor actor is in the credits ... but I have no idea what he looks like because he has no screen time! And I've seen Aliens more times than I can count!

Lmao that is funny, im gonna watch that movie now again lol.

I think we all have Alien and Aliens down in memory..lol.
