I like your attitude!
seriously though, you didn't have moments in that film watching it for the first time, where all you wanted...was MORE HEATH...?...
my g-d that was one of the first times I have ever felt that in a movie theater...wanting to see ONLY one actor appear over and over because it was just so g-d damned exciting to watch him/her do what they were doing !!!

I am lost, how did we get on Batman? I disliked all of them except the Tim Burton versions. I found the Dark Knight's story uninteresting, ledger's acting severely lacking and Christian Bale's performance one dimensional and irritating. I'll probably walk out if the Prometheus story is told similarly.

Did i a miss dark knight reference or something lol
love that movie and of course heath ledgers take on the joker but he did not die from playing the character. He died months later after filming wrapped on dark knight. He died while making that weird terry gilliam movie.

it is my opinion that he was already dead {technically}while he was working on that last film you mentioned.

It's not personal Spartacus. I'm just saying I think Prometheus will be a movie I will enjoy unlike The Dark Knight and I don't understand how the Batman movie fits into this discussion.
EDIT: Okay well now I see you edited your response a little. I appreciate the respect then Sparacus thanks.

I agree completely, am not gay, not that there's anything wrong with that, did not like anything else Ledger did, but IMO that performance was something special, at least 3/4's of it, beyond anything I'd ever seen , and I completely respect how people can say they didn't like it at all. For me tough a film like "BATMAN:ANYTHING" can never really be taken serious to the point of what Ledger was trying to do, it's a comic book, after all, and for that reason will never go down as some important piece of film history, but MAN
DO I EVER AGREE WITH YOU
P R O M E T H E U S can and probabaly will...
I believe in my heart it will
Because Giger and Scott Are two of my favorite men in this whole wide world !!!
They are both so creatively brilliant !!!!!
T H I S F I L M C A N N O T F A I L !!!

Spartacus
I see what you mean, and I agree his performance was mind blowing, he overshadowed the whole cast,

Hey Spartacus a debate about what movies are similar or that gave us a chill like Prometheus would definitely be an interesting topic for a new thread. ;)

Hey Stargazers,
Personally I think this teaser poster is fairly good…but not a worthy compliment piece to the original 1979 ALIEN poster. The original successfully communicated such a simple, basic, and visual message. The images were not even those used in the actual film, i.e. the cracked egg and bio-grid below it. But, the IDEA…and its implication was powerful…and pervasive. This new PROMETHEUS poster lacks that visual PUNCH.
The tagline: THE SEARCH FOR OUR BEGINNING COULD LEAD TO OUR END, is also pretty stale…especially in comparison to: IN SPACE NO ONE CAN HEAR YOU SCREAM. Now that’s a great tag! This new one is just…well…kind of boring. No nouns, verbs or adjectives that really pack a PUNCH…like: In SPACE NO ONE can hear YOU SCREAM. I do like the colours, tone, and atmosphere though. Hopefully, the actual release poster will be better…have more impact…and most importantly…be terrifying. After all…Scott did say he wanted to scare us. Come on Ridley…I dare ya…SCARE ME!

So this is a pretty cool teaser poster. I do like how there is a nod to alien and aliens with the small flare of light in the middle of the poster. At least thats the message I got from this.

I so want to agree with you Spartacus, and for that reason I will!
But when you said this film can not fail, I hope you knocked on wood:
Let's not forget other movies that people said that about, heck they said the Titanic could not sink... But it did. Ridley is a genius, Giger is a genius, but those film company exects are plain down right mentally challenged. Let's pray that they left Ridley alone to do his work, cause if they put thier hands in it for even the smallest thing we the fans are going to suffer. I literally pray every night about this, I'm so worried about this.

"the cracked egg and bio-grid below it. But, the IDEA…and its implication was powerful…and pervasive. This new PROMETHEUS poster lacks that visual PUNCH."

Looks quite cool to me......Less is better. I like the plain dark look. Alien and Blade runner go down as one of my top 5 fave films.
Head kinda looks like Brando from Apocalypse Now....
The Horror..........The Horror.........

I think that Prometheus may enlighten some people to the Alien franchise. More exposure to the xenomorph legacy. And to Dark Horse Comics...
This installment of the Alien legacy is very interesting... a "new insight" to what was given to us in the first Alien comic Book from Dark Horse. Actually, maybe it was the second.
I was hoping there would be some connection to "Aliens : Earth War" comics when I initially heard about this movie. However, I think that AVP took that and ruined it. Well, not ruined it, rather made it impossible to bring another installment of the xenomorph on Earth. Hmmm....

Good poster. I like it. Just like Scott and Rothman said this is not an Alien movie merely in the same universe as Alien. So it will be liked to Alien. I reckon the less it's tied to Alien the better it will be because Scott wont be chained with past movies. mind you I'm disappointed too as I need to know how it all started. You can see more man detail and it looks like a construct like Frankinstein. So if this is real and I bet it is, the core of the movie is about our creation.
