I think that is our sun and the planets orbiting it in the center of the holographic astrological chart. This must be in the Space Jockey's ship, where the chair rises up out of the floor.

David seems to appear in lots of pics. He must be a pivotal part of this story.

Looks like David to me. What the heck are those pink things by the sides of the chair? They're round and ooo-shaped...?

agreed, in proper 3D, this particular scene along with the red-laser orbs must be awesome... well, that and the rest of the film. something to look forward to! can NOT wait....

There were other topics about the chart and who is in the middle but It's getting harder and harder to find the original conversations easily. Clearly it looks like it is David in the high resolution pictures though.

here's my take. somehow, david becomes part SJ. Kind of like Vickus in Disctrict 9, who, once "infected" begins to biologically change and can power/access alien technology. I thought initially this scene might have been on earth, in the supposed "terraforming" phase But, as we all can see David is in some sort of space suit. Also, judging by size, it looks as if there are maybe 3 to 4(maximum) sj cryo-chambers visible. Who knows, but like everyone else.....I'm realllllllllllly interested.

Awesome image. Now if only there was one without the Prometheus title......like in the title-less trailer released a while back, except if I tried to get a screencap of it, the quality wouldn't be as grand as the image in the OP. For a while I thought that was Ms. Vickers operating the star-map, but that's gotta be David (the android). Perhaps David becomes capable of accessing this technology somehow and some way later on in the movie.....though I assume this based on the recent leak, stating that the Space Jockey so happens to like David. Keep in mind that we've no way of knowing if the leak is legit. As for those pink-ish things in the image.....I think those are lights.

I've heard about the David character being in this pic when it was released last year, but now with this hi-res version I can finally see him, lol. Yes, he's tiny in the middle there and that fact puts into perspective just how big that rotunda is along with those giant sarcophagi/capsules. That 'Bazooka Joe' bubble gum stuff is more detailed and intriguing now and looks like some sort of organic matter - maybe instrumental in conjunction with the stuff in the ampules? Cheers Nephilim.

Maybe that pink stuff is brains - required for finding worm holes and plotting jumps into hyper space. The Space Jockey ship is biomechanical after all.

There's a whole thread about that somewhere, someone mentioned that earlier last month I think.

At first I was thinking it was Vickers because the body looks kinda feminine to me, but now it does look more like David. Unless Vickers just has her hair slicked back :)
