if you could destroy the AVP movies...

the coming
MemberOvomorphApril 01, 20122923 Views33 Repliesif there was a theoretical red button which would erase all prints, blurays and dvds of the movie everywhere on earth, would you press it?
and which of the below would you choose for eternal termination:
1)AVP
2)AVP:2 Requiem
3)Ressurection
4)Alien 3 (bonus)

Well Snorkelbottom, I think me and you are the only ones on here that would like to see AVP stay in the canon somehow and don't disown the films. I've said before in other threads sbout AVP thst I own both on Blu-Ray and give them a watch once in a while. Heck, i even have My digital copy of Requiem sitting in my iPad. The rest of you guys suck LOL. Really? Nuke them out of existence? Cant you guys show some love for the franchise? Haha (Jk, I respect your opinions, I don't like them but I respect them LoL)
Seriously.? Nobody felt some joy when the Blonde chick got pinned to the wall by the Predator shuriken in the hospital? So much for getting the girl at the end of the movie.

If you can substitute ALIENS for Alien 3 (the assembly or original cut, either-or) then I'm in!

Funny, I thought Alien3's remastered and extended cut was absolutely stunning !!! A Masterpiece even. I also LOVE what Cameron said to Fincher... at dinner with Weaver and Scott..."Dude, You Killed Hicks & Newt" ????????????? LMFAO !!!

If he hadn't killed them I don't think there would be so many people complaining about the film. I think Cameron summed up what eveybody was thinking. I haven't seen the remastered 3. Is it comparable to Highlander 2 and the Renegade Version of that movie, it's a totally different film and experience.

There are some brutal scenes in A3 (Newt's autopsy, Hick's smashed face from the EEV and the dog and/or ox chestbursters). Fincher's Zodiac film makes me lock the doors...creepy as hell.

@Alien DNA
It is a very well polished and expanded edition of the original film that when viewed on a decent enough system will leave you breathless in just how beautiful a film it is. It explains so much, they filled in all the holes, made some fantastically wonderful changes and actually did it as a tribute to what Finchers original vision was in respect for the man and in light of the theatrical release which he refused to attach his name to and The suits at Fox did anyways.

I saw it on HBO when I was a kid back in the day, it's the first in the series that I saw. I liked it and had no complaints. I've seen it a few more times, but not as many times as the first two. Is the remastered version on the blu-ray set of the quadrilogy?
April 03, 2012
Btw when you say decent enough system what are you referring too? 1080p, surround sound?
April 03, 2012
its so well made that if you have a copy from the Quadrilogy set and play it in surround sound with a good LCD you will be amazed...The Death scenes were expanded and enhanced and contain some of the best footage IMO from all 4 films! The camera work in the tunnels is awe inspiring, and the story is much more complete so the entire experience is far superior to that of the theatrical release and the better your system the more you will notice.

I wouldn't destroy any of them (as much as I despise AVP:R). They should be left there as an eternal mark of shame (especially for the Strause Bros).
But in order to do justice to the orginal canon and creatures, it would be awesome if the red button replaced the aliens in the AVP movies with Freddy Krueger clones, Edward Cullens or Gummi Bears, as it would make much more sense.
My greatest desire, though, would be for the red button to turn Alien 3 into what Fincher was envisioning.
Ridley Scott will eventually tell us how the Queen was born.
Right now we have the Deacon; coming soon the Mercury, the May and the Taylor.
