Prometheus Revealed?

You know that feeling you get when something is one the tip of your tongue that you've been trying to remember/solve, well I'm getting it with Prometheus. Here's the pieces of the puzzle...
1. At least 5 Harkonnen Castle inspired temples, presumably each one with a big head and lots and lots of mysterious ampules.
2. A big pile of dead Space Jockey's

3. The Derelict, underground in a purpose built hangar.
4. Shaw giving birth to an unknown organism.
5. The Xenomorph depicting mural.
6. A big, blue humanoid inside the Derelict and attacking the crew.
7. A mutated crew member attacking the crew.
8. An Eel/worm based organism infecting Holloway.
9. The crashing of the Derelict.
10. The invitations left behind on Earth.
11. The UFO at the waterfall.
12. And finally, Ridleys comments in Empire magazine about an intelligent race on Earth before the fossil record.
I have all/most of the pieces of the jigsaw, but its just a hairs breadth out of reach, I know if I can just find the common thread I can figure this out...

"reaching"...?...seriously man, that, with all due respect, I think this means one thing, you're way off...and I think I got it pretty tight, I guess time will tell...no disrespect at all, just disagree with your disagreeing with me their... and calling it "reaching"...I think there is Direct evidence I am right!!!

@ Sparky - no offence was intended, in the "king" scene in the trailer the atmosphere, the ambience seems to be one of wonder not of death, we have only seen this guy for a couple of seconds, which suggests importance to me, but he also looks primitive... my guess is the UFO did something to him that changed him beneficially in some way, but why?

so what trailer shows an umbilical cord/swelling belly? I either missed it or haven't seen this trailer yet.

The squidbilly is like a proto facehugger.
We haven't seen it, but I think it is reasonable to assume that THAT "facesquidbilly" is then going to attach itself to another crewmembers face... Not sure which one.
A Chestburst of that crewmember is then going to result in the "gray EEL".. (Dont all chestbursts from the Alien stories we now initially result in a slimy eel/or serpent like thing with teeth?)
However, what THAT "gray EEL" will quickly grow into is another thing... Could it be a new BLUE GUY, but a new BLUE GUY who is a little shorter in stature to what we think it should really be... because it gestated in a man???

I am in the camp of two races as well. If the film is based on Greek mythology as it is said to be, than two God types seems feasible. The Titans (the originals) and the Olympians (the newbies) have it out, with the Olympians seizing power. I think the Prometheus crew stumble upon the aftermath of their war when they go exploring. They find corpses of what I believe to the be SJ's, and also a head. We see the head being examined. One of Weyland's patents is the ability to reactivate brain function, postmortem. I think they use this on the SJ head, and then discovered what happened. They proceed to stick there nose in deeper, and perhaps release the SJ DNA (much like Hercules releasing Prometheus from the rock) that was contained or trapped by the Blues. But here's the kicker. Maybe the SJ's aren't benevolent. Maybe them being trapped was a good thing. Maybe the Blue guys winning was a good thing. Maybe, this is where the line "We were wrong, we were so wrong..." comes from. The Prometheus crew feels like there doing the right thing, the moral thing by trying to help this trapped being, but they were wrong, so wrong. And I do think the Blues are pissed that we interfered and want to teach us a lesson. And then Hell really breaks loose.

@ Betterducks - Titans and Gods, a def possibility, falters out a little towards the end IMO but it fits with the races idea, I think the liver element has an analogy also.
@ canadaphil - def don't think we gonna see a proto-xeno in this, Ridley wants something new, something fresh, but that tentacle/tail that hits the door seems the same color as the blue guy!
April 04, 2012
Yeah.. I really dont think there are going to be ANY Xeno's as we think of them from 79.. but the we will see the DNA as I think Ridley said... by that I think he means a process of what we are sort of familiar with...
- An initial face capture/implantation/gestation in LIVING host*
- A "birth" via violent escape resulting in death of host.
- That serpent like offspring growing VERY rapidly into what its intended lifeform is.
* I put an asterisk on that for a Reason. You need a FULLY LIVING HOST for this process. DAVID cannot act as a host in the true sense... Nor do I think DAVID can fully morph into a BLUE MEANIE as some are saying.... I think thats nonsense.
However, I think DAVID will play a pivotal role in messing with the bioformer that results in Shaw getting "infected" so to speak.

@ Snorky...Could be...I just think the black stuff running all the way up the right side of his body and arm are too revealing. I am trying to keep it simple and follow a logical progression...maybe I am wrong and that's not the same goo but I doubt it. Think the little pre-amble makes it clear he dies, and I think in that image he is determining what is wrong with himself, if you examine it closely enough. Just My humble opinion, I agree to disagree. I love ya bro, just saying, I'm sticking with my theory.

I think betterduck is on to something with the head examination theory. Perhaps I am not looking closely enough at the Weyland timeline. Maybe other clues are there.

^^^^
Thats what I liked about it. That is obviously something meant for humans, but I wonder.
I think the inference was that the process could only work on someone/thing that had been placed in some kind of stasis but who knows?
April 04, 2012
Speaking of the timeline.. I will bring up this point that I mentioned in other topics again....
There was a prior space expedition with Weylands FIRST FTL capable science vessel, the HELIADES over 30 years prior !!!
What became of that?? I think that notation is VERY intriguing... given that I think I have seen some posts saying that PROMETHEUS actually finds a cocooned HUMAN !!?!?!?

Snorkelbottom i believe the markings left on the wall were of a peaceful nature, but in the thousands of years since they were written some other beings landed on their planet killing them off. That or they are trying to create another species then the new lifeforms take over. Of the two im thinking the first scenario. The race that created life on earth being the craft over the water fall, the derelict being the blue dudes, the first ship being our creators obviously know where earth is and that could explane why the blue guy waited till humans came before heading off to earth
Also has anyone touched on the point that no one might be even close to what the storyline could be? From how many minutes of trailers there are compared to hours of film time?? its fun guessing tho just saying
April 04, 2012
In all honesty I have said that we could all be completely wrong many many times we are all just speculating wildly...great point man...sorry if my passion for this stuff is overwhelming or put you off in any way. Having too much fun and taking too many quick liberties lately I guess.
April 04, 2012
didn't mean it in a harsh way just saying there's a world (lv 426) of possibilities :)
April 04, 2012
Another way to look at the possible scope of this thing:
What if in the trailers for 2001:ASO they only showed scenes from the David-HAL act? That would be a considerable amount of crucial story they're not revealing. What if in Prometheus trailers we are mostly seeing scenes from one act, the crew vs. danger act? The disc over the waterfall could be a whole other act that takes place in pre-history; the blue guy and the jockey chair could be another act that takes place a few years after the Prometheus.

Biehn_Bandit i get the different time zones idea. What if the derelict seen in alien is different from the one in prometheus? the fossilized one seen in alien could of crashed thousands of years ago when something burst through his chest. other SJ's have to follow on a clean up mission to sort out the mess he left. then somehow whatever being is left in the end of prometheus lays its eggs in the old derelict?
