MemberOvomorphApr-10-2012 8:33 AM@Shane -> I do, they have to end up there, the Derelict Has to be there, it's where they found it originally.

MemberOvomorphApr-10-2012 8:36 AMi am just so disappointed because I believe WE/I know the entire plot and story right now and it bothers me to no end this does going into any film to no end.

MemberOvomorphApr-10-2012 8:37 AMIm with Gem.... Never thought this place was LV426 all along.
The intriguing bits now, are what is the actual implication of WEYLAND's role in all of this. I had always figured it was David who would be the one to upset the apple cart... but Im now thinking its something Weyland does.
I now think that Weyland has actually preceeded the Prometheus on the HELIADES.... but the Prometheus crew find him 30 years later.. and he has either found a way of prolonging himself a little longer, or he is cocooned or in some form of stasis and in revived... Let the mayhem begin.
PS: This talk of the "Fake Leaked" plotline and it now being just like it? What does that mean. I never looked at the supposed "leaked" script... How is this 100% like it without getting into a long winded talk over a "fake" script. Is 100% just like it a slight exaggeration?... The Q&A only showed about 15 total minutes of the movie which is probably going to be 150+ minutes long!

MemberOvomorphApr-10-2012 8:39 AMit explains how he got on Prometheus too...you guys can do your calculation, i know for sure, and come up with it the way I have...we know the entire story now, big bad company rides yet again.

MemberOvomorphApr-10-2012 8:41 AMThe moon was once a part of Earth. What if LV-426 was once a part of LV-223? Something displaced a large chunk where the derelict is and threw it in the air. The derelict seems to be indestructible so could it have survived and formed on the surface of this new planetoid.
Also I read somewhere that the Zeta 2 Reticuli system appears to be moving. Zeta Herculis Moving Group If the Spacejockeys are controling the movements of an entire system they are working on maybe loosing control of that could be catastrophic in many ways.
Just some out of the box thinking. : )

I read the title of this post, which I didn't read the content...and then I saw below your post NoX's post...
Why couldn't you show the class NoX did and leave out a real possible spoiler? Why put that in the header? I put the 2 together and realized an event had gone down and more info was in the wild, but do really think everyone wants hard info?
Conjecture and theory...fine. Being the first little weenie on the block....MAJOR FAIL

MemberOvomorphApr-10-2012 8:44 AMgreat stuff, this thing just got way way crazy and some of those whacked out theories you guys were throwing around may even be a part of all this...but one thing is certain now and it's that WEYLAND and their TED web site just got a Massive Kick In The Pants.

CanadaPhil
MemberOvomorphApr-10-2012 8:48 AMFurther on new "whacked out" theories...
That sort of human sized, but diffinately NOT human thing attacking Shaw and her now well known... D I E E E E E E E EE E !!!
Well, thats NOT David, or Holloway, or another crew member... but what happens to the old bastard himself... That is Peter Weyland attacking Shaw.

MemberOvomorphApr-10-2012 8:50 AMGrrrr.... typos! hahaha.
Whats up with this interface.. Sometimes when I try to go back in to correct something, I only see a box full of html coding with no way to fix the text??

MemberOvomorphApr-10-2012 8:50 AMI to am worried about the flight school of the Spacey Jockey's. To be a Superior Race, they can't seem to fly there own equipment. Derelicts all over the Universe.

This.
If there is one known constant in the entire history of the human race, it is that we "DO IT TO OURSELVES".

MemberOvomorphApr-10-2012 9:05 AMSo were back to 2 earth ship theory again? The 2 david [one a earlier generation then the other one] theory?

MemberOvomorphApr-10-2012 9:15 AMHonestly - why don´t we wait until the whole plot is revealed right in front of our eyes - i think there is a twist in the story which projects the whole movie towards the derelict from alien - scott always referred to the fact that the last minutes of the movie will make the connection....
on the other hand - he never held back that prometheus is a movie rather telling a very own story - fine with me - i´m looking forward to something new - a very unique ride - otherwise i would be disappointed - i guess we will be stunned nonetheless the connection to alien is rather small....
regards - chris

ridley s
MemberOvomorphApr-10-2012 9:17 AMsorry - should read: nonetheless the connection to alien seems to be rather subtle....

Early in product someone took a photo that got taken down called "magellan kitchen set". It was unknown if they named it this to throw people off the trail or, the more popular one on some forums, that it was a earlier ship with Weyland and a previous generation of David that has been crashed there since.
Some people think the shaw birthing takes place there since the technology looks so primitive to the other shots on the prometheus. Some thing that it is what you see in the background when the Jockey and the Prometheus crash. here I will find a pic:
http://www.avpgalaxy.net/gallery/albums/movies/prometheus/setpics/normal_setpic31.jpg
People have speculated that this is a piece of that ship. One of the tv spots or trailers has a quick shot of it on the ground while the derelict and prometheus collide. You can see vickers escape pod shooting in that scene. Might be some truth to it...

MemberOvomorphApr-10-2012 9:52 AMOK Thanks...
But that is sort of what I have thought all along after reading the cryptic entry in the timeline.
I think the HELIADES had already made it to this world, and that Weyland is NOT on the Prometheus, but was already there as an old man... still alive.. or in stasis.
But Weyland was in fact on the FIRST VESSEL to travel far out beyond the stars. He was part of the crew of the HELIADES. That "mystery" ship is in fact the H.

Shane
MemberOvomorphApr-10-2012 9:54 AMYeah same idea different Name. The earlier generation of david taking care of status Weyland.

MemberOvomorphApr-10-2012 10:00 AMI think it is a good idea to have the story take place on another planet (LV 223 or whatever) . I would like to think the engineers being so advanced would have the ability to have outposts or bases on other moons and planets. The United States has military installations everywhere in the world and when man gets to the far reaches of our galaxy I'm sure we'll have outposts on moons and other planets if possible.
Also if things do look a bit like the 2nd draft of the supposed leaked script ( i personally think it's fake) the writers have said it's changed mulitple times so they have probably improved as rewrites have been done.
My only concern now is I don't want people to steal the movie and it get on the internet way before it's release because it sounds like it looks beautiful and I don't want to hear people complaining about the film before it's seen in the format it is intended to be viewed. I'm still stoked and the more info we get my interests is that much more peaked.

MemberOvomorphApr-10-2012 10:01 AMSpartacus:
SORRY MAN, I AM GENUINELY PISSED AND CANNOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME UNDERSTAND WHY THEY WOULD RUIN THINGS LIKE THIS.
I'm sorry...what's ruined? Your're acting like a child having throwning his toys out of the pram, because your little mind can't take in a plot line that lends a strand to that of the Alien franchise.
The plot of Prometheus is before the events of Alien, it is going to be different in stark contrast...and all the better for it I say. I personally don't want to see another Alien spin-off, it died after the first 2 films, but ressurrected with the turgid Predator v Alien fairytales.
Ridley is bringing a whole new ball game to the park, and I for one can't wait to see how it unfolds.
The concept is spot on. In this film there is no knowledge (let alone existence) of the Xenomorph, and no requirement for it. The events in Prometheus will simply provide the 'causes' of the future events depicted in Alien...ON A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT PLANET! IN A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT STORY!
So, do you want your toys back, or are you going to continue to sit in the pram with a trembling bottom lip, screaming..."I want! I want! I want!"...throwing out everything offered to you?
Grow up.

MemberOvomorphApr-10-2012 10:01 AM@ Shane...
Its almost as if, he could have been marooned there, yet had ideas in his head that would be required in order to accomplish whatever it turns out his "REAL" goal was all along.
Perhaps, he had been transmitting secret directives back to Weyland Industries on Earth and this is what causes them to develop what seems to be VERY SPECIFIC technologies??
Only, YEARS are going to go by before these transmissions can be received and acted upon??

MemberOvomorphApr-10-2012 10:09 AMI've been wondering if Vickers is related to Weyland. Meredith means "warlord" or something like that, and Vickers means "son of priest/vicar". I don't know how they chose her name, but I wondered if the meaning of her name really told us something. I was also wondering of Vickers may have been male at one time (was it Lambert who was inherently male but changed to female? And vice-versa for Dallas?). I don't know...just an idea I had.

MemberOvomorphApr-10-2012 10:11 AMalso
do not really know you and really couldn't care less what you think but you obviously do not know what you are talking about
The Dereelict is PART OF THIS and that's a massive connection to the alien film.,
AND THIS...WTF DOES THIS EVEN MEAN....
in a plot line that lends a strand to that of the Alien franchise.
My Mind INSISTS ON IT...
and then the kicker is this comment you made which is so far out in outer space and so far out of touch wiht reality that it;s the last time i am going to adress yo even or anything you say...

that quote is 100% completely wrong!!!
100% COMPLETELY F'ING WRONG !!!
IN FACT IT IS 100% SPOT OFF !!!
THERE IS 100% DEFINITVE KNOWLEDGE OF THE XENOMORPH
AND YOU HAVE A SERIOIUS PROBLEM PERSONALLY ATTACKING SOMEONE LET ALONE ME LIKE THAT!!!
BUT IT IS SIMPLY AMAZING HOW MISGUIDED AND MISPLACED AND ILL INTENDED JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING YOU SAID WAS !!!

MemberOvomorphApr-10-2012 10:13 AMThe only way this would piss anybody off is if they wanted "Prometheus" to be a direct prequel to "Alien" (which we've been told over and over it's NOT - Maybe it's time we started listening).
So it's confirmed now that it takes place on a different planet than "Alien" did, and thus it's a different "derelict" ship, and a different crew of "space jockeys," etc. etc. etc.
All of which serves to prove that Ridley Scott and Damien Lindelof were telling the truth when they said this was not a prequel to "Alien," and that this story does indeed go off on a tangent of its own - one which may not even lead to the events of the original film.
To quote the late Chris Hitchens:
SO-BLOODY-WHAT?!?
It's still a new film from Ridley Scott set in the fictional universe of "Alien" and featuring some of the same thematic elements as that film. And I'll take that over the obscene garbage that was "AvP" and "AvPR" ANY day of the week.
Anybody who thinks that this is grounds for throwing some kind of absurd tantrum needs to really, really get over it.

MemberOvomorphApr-10-2012 10:19 AMHAHAHAHAHA
SOMEONE ELSE WHO DID NOT READ THIS THREAD PROPERLY
I CAME IN HERE AND THERE IS 15 THREADS AND 100 POSTS PROCLAIMING THIS ENTIRE FILM TAKES PLACE ON LV-423
SO I LOOK THROUGH ALL THE MATERIAL AND DISCOVER IT IS
I AM SUGGESTING THAT IF THERE IS NO TRIP TO LV-426 THEN THE DERELICT IS ON LV-423 WHICH WOULD MAKE NO SENSE...AND SAID THE CREW AND THIS WHOLE THING WOULD HAVE TO MOVE TO LV-426 BEFORE THE END OF THE FILM OR THE WHOLE THING WOULD MAKE ZERO SENSE AND I AM 100% RIGHT IN MY MIND ABOUT THIS.
SO GO LEARN TO READ!!!
