It strikes me as plausible that David plays a central role in the creation of a New Man or new human life form. His serial number 8 comes after the 7 days of creation. He is the one who examines genetic samples from the ampules. And the blue-veined Frankenstein-type man who appears in the beginning also looks suspiciously like Fassbender. Of course, the 8 could be just clever branding.

??? kind of lost on the androids being named in order, lets not forget this film is a prequel ....so to speak!!

Yeah doesn't quite add up but it is funny that the sequence we have come to know the androids in the films do follow in order alphabetically except cal has a first name i'm told annalee.

@alteredstate; Bishop has a first name too. I forget what it is but it is on his dog tags and you can see it on the computer as it writes out the names of the crew members to be woken up from hypersleep on the Sulaco.
