As the 'Chiar' accends upwards and outwards from the depths of the ships 'central hub' , it recedes back upon itself in a spiraling outwards pattern much-like, yet I say, exactly-like the air ducts opening outwards and closing inwards such as the Nostromo's air Intake ducts and vents.
