Sorry fanboys, no xenomorphs for you...

I just don't care about the "Derelict" anymore. Some poor Sj bought it, when there was a mishap on his ship....unless it was sabotage and not a simple accident, there really isn't much else left to tell. I'm getting an entirely new movie about the Sjs and their culture, with monsters that haven't been reduced to being plastered on lunch-boxes.......not yet, anyway. Works for me.

Thats why Ridley could be playing Russian Roulette, and going with what ever Lindelof had ideas for....
Ridley did say the last 11 mins would explain or link to Alien, if he is not going to do that in any of the 3 ways i explained in my thread then how is he?
You see if the only link to Alien is some creature that develops from Shaws Baby, then unless that creature is killed off and no offspring survives from this movie, then that would mean Weyland Corp would have optained a Xeno DNA related Organism as a specimen or indeed that Prometheus 2 would cover such new creature..... so why then in Alien and Aliens would they want to bring back the Xeno on LV 426.....
Lets hope that its the same as with Ash, that they deem the Promethus Xeno as a bit Twitchy and that they search for another improved Xeno like Bishop.
Because no way can this movie be considered Cannon to Alien if they are not carefull. Well especially to Aliens.
I fear we would get more questions than answers from this movie...
Unless Ridley is going for a reboot........
Thus this movie shares with Alien Franchise what little Batman Dark Knight Trilogy does with the Batman 90's movies....

this movie was very costly and has some mega movies coming out around the same time, so it could go either way. Even if it makes money for Fox, that still doesnt guarantee a sequel considering the numb nuts who runs Fox. It would ultimately be up to Ridely. He wanted more money for this film and got his way. Fox will try and make him happy so it will be in his court.

Thats right, and i dont want a Prometheus to be a direct Prequel, because there would be little scope for a part 2 because thats Alien, only thing would be a Prequel to the Prequel....
I think this movie started because Ridley wanted to answer the questions about The Space Jockey, he said he was suprised no one ever answered that in any of the Alien movies, who was he, what was he doing there, how did he get there and why carry those Eggs.....
Then Lindelof came on board and well decided to change things... i mean if he did Transformers 4 he would make it so that it then becomes fact that the Transformers was actually just Space Smurfs in Suits like how the Little Aliens was in Independance day.... lol.
I dont think years ago when Ridley had the ideas of doing a movie in Alien universe he had the idea " why dont we make a movie about some big humans who created us, who are the Space Jockeys who have Derelict ships but dont have nothing to do with Alien and Lv 426" nope i dont see that being the case.
As i said i hope and think Ridley would give some vague explanation as to a back ground story of how those Xeno Eggs got from A-B with B being landed on LV 426....
It does not have to show that happening, it does not have to go into detail.. it only has to explain or say "yep the Engineers encountered a Organism years ago, that was bad and nearly wiped them out and they just about managed to get rid of it off their planet/outpost"
That would do....
Fans would then go.... ohhh i see, yes the Xeno has to be the culprit and i guess they used another Derelict like the one they tried to take off with in this movie, only the other Derelict must had been used to get rid of that nasty pest Xeno and take it as far away from LV 223 as they could...
Job done..... Derelicts mission to LV 426 explained enough to give us our answers and thus shut the door on the subject for ever.....

I think you're going to get the explanation you want. It would seem that the figure on the ceiling will play a part in it.

The Question is what potential does the Sequel have well that depends on the end of this movie, well what becomes of LV 223, that ship, and what ever Crew are left.
The Alien Universe has a lot more to give, than just the Xeno.
We could explore Weyland Yutani merger and its terraforming of planets, who is to say a sequel would even have anything to do with LV 223 or what they find?
We dont know if the Engineers are all dead after this movie, then again if people can be changed into them, then that leaves the door open. If one Engineer escapes the planet that leaves the door open... And even if not maybe Ridley can explore more of the Chariots of the Gods aspect and visit the Engineers in the far past and follow what they did after they came to Earth and before the Xeno was ever around....
Its going to be very interesting as thier is much more posibilities to how Prometheus 2 could go, compared to Prometheus.

lol hope so....
I would prefer my first 2 ideas on how to explain it....
I hope we dont see that Shaws Baby ends up growing up, getting on the Derelict where a Weyland in a Jockey Suit is pilot and then implant something in his throat then go lay a load of Eggs......
Nope a more suptle aproach explaining the Xeno do had been something that happend years in the past is better, this avoids a direct prequel route...
We really dont know with Lindelof on board....
Maybe its not Henriksen maybe its Weaver.....
Shaws Baby mates with David and makes a Andriod that is part Alien, and also looks a little like Shaw and thus Ripley is born....
Shes a Andriod, and part Xeno and she lays the Eggs, and thats why they could clone her in Alien Resurection and have Alien DNA lol
Well i would not put that past Lindeolf.....

@BigDave
You seem unaware that Ridley Scott requested Damon Lindelof specifically to remove most familiar "Alien" elements from Jon Spaihts script, because Scott wanted it to have as little to do with "Alien" as possible.
Also, tell us how you really feel about Lindelof. Did he run over your dog or something? Jeeze.
