@ Windood - I agree with your statement- So many people are jumping the gun before even seeing the final cut. I really hope that all questions are left unanswered. In fact, I am starting to beleive that maybe these questions are actually, unanswered.....Making this whole idea really, really weird. :) Peace

Well i had a lot of hope after some of the tracks... I asked that person 2 questions.... and to be vague so mainly yes and no... i am not going to say much about the questions or answers... i do advice you that if you ask him, you will get spoilers and if you do that, i think he would want you to be carefull how you go about with what he says as to not spoil it..... So here is a SPOILER.... but not as such.... SPOILER SPOILER - - - - I was hopping for some answers as see my thread before, well 1+2 seem out but 3 theory seems pretty much the deal... Link to Alien.... yes, more of a link that passing then potentially yes a direct link but we wont find that out in this movie, but Prometheus 2...... By link to Alien well if you remember the questions Ridley felt left unanswered we will find out in this movie 3 of them.... 1) Who the Jockey/Engineer are.... but maybe not massive detail who knows. 2) That the Derelict is a ship they pilot and yes it seems same type as in Alien. And we get one more question answered, but maybe not all of what we want answered. Note these are not what that person has said, this is just now with a simple answer he has given me, i know have ruled out two parts of the puzzle that leaves another left. In essence this movie will be either...... 1) A Prequel to the Prequel, so if the Thing it would be how that Organism got on that Ship and who its last victims was before it crashed to Earth. Or 2) The movie could go for either a reboot or something new but simular and not answer some of the burning questions from Alien..... Now the answer i got left me a tad disapointed..... on one aspect but excited by another which led to the above 2 scenerios of how a Prometheus 2 would go.... All i can say is biggest clue would apear to be when they said "How Mommy, Meets Daddy" So yes its not going to be the Noahs Ark Prequel to how Jesus was Born, but it looks like its the Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden prequel to Noahs Ark if you catch my drift? - - - - - END SPOILER END SPOILER.

Starting to think that we are going to have a wild ride of the unexepcted in this film!!!

I'm not really convinced by this one - it doesn't seem to confirm or deny anything that isn't muddy elsewhere... I don't think I'll believe anything til I see a ticket stub!

@BigDave, i have no idea what you meant in your post above, could you just post the questions and answers. This thread is called spoilers so if anyone reads it its because they're ok with spoilers and can't complain.

@orangecat depends on what you asked him.... I think he could be telling truth, as what he said about one scene, well its not what can be made from what we see in Trailers... So its either a complete made up story that is not what we see in that scene, or indeed it is what happens in that scene only the trailers are mish mashed to fool us.... which it seems is the case.

@Windood I already explained it..... lol Its not for me to pass on any info and i wont, you can ask him yourself... but yes someone else asked same question got same answer, part of what he got as some details i never, part of what i got have some details he never got. I will just say that said scene, is a mish mash the trailers dont even touch what goes on.... think that we saw Face Smoke Guy in Trailers and then some thing gets in suit.... Then that got expanded in new 3 min trailer to be Copraxeno scene.... oh so he gets in suit.... and we see Face Smoke Guy and must become Face Melt.... ermmmm... We also see Face Buster Then we see the latest one of Milburn downing a snake in his mouth.... Well its not quite as it seems....... Just look at the Fifield trailers of mutant man...... then we saw burt mask guy facing up to Mechanic guy and we all tought.... oh i get it now..... Then that Vickers with Flammer torching someone, then put top bed that it was not Fifield, but someone else who we assumed would be part of a latter scene. The trailers just dont tell the full story..... i got a hint of what it is, and its connected to something else in the movie, and if you know what i mean then you would know about its likeness to something and its defence mechanism that explains Face Melt guy..... and i dont know the details of him... but i can assume its not who or how we expect...

The trailers are definitely put together to make you think something other than what actually happens.

hi dave, after putting "SPOILER SPOILER" i mistakenly assumed there'd be a spoiler of some sorts, all I can see is a cryptic reference.

OK Here again is a anology....... ok SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER....... - - - - - Prequel, no Prequel well Ridley is playing games with some stuff he says.... we see Alien DNA, and he hints at it just shared DNA, then he also says Mommy meets Daddy! Right while there was questions from Alien they was what.... 1) Who is the big guy in chair Space Jockey........ (kinda Answered) 2) What was the purpose of the ship....... (kinda Answered). 3) What was the Cargo and why was it on the ship.... (Not directly Answered, no Egg think Chicken). 4) What was the purpose of the Xeno........ (maybe or maybe not Answered but only maybe as vague as the Derelict, Jockey and Eggs in Alien thus not answered). Only leaves us to assume... maybe. 5) Why did the Ship land on LV 426 and When (Not Answered). You see a Alien Prequel would kind of show how, why, when the Eggs on that ship got onto LV 426 and why..... the person says this is not answered, maybe it could be just very very vague... this is if i assume that Hologram scene is them creating the Xeno.... from years ago but its aparently maybe not.. The Person never told me about that scene.... They just hinted that no direct link to Alien as in what the crew found as it was.... Link to Alien in its DNA as in Space Jockey, Derelict model craft..... and what seems to be the Proto Xeno/its Progenitor.... the Chicken before the Egg. This would assume that Prometheus 2 would be the Prequel to Alien.... This movie is thus going to be.... 1) A complete Reboot..... 2) Prequel to Prequel and thus cover who Space Jockeys was, and who/what the Xenos mother or Grand mother was. 3) Or it could be going for kind of a Reboot but not.... think Batman 1989-1997 = Alien to Alien Resurection and Batman Dark Night series as Prometheus and follow ups... Its going to be one of those 3, its just so open as to not grasp..... but then again when we look at a Face Hugger it looks nothing like a Xeno, some having something/things that dont look very Xeno like does not mean they wont lead to the Egg that makes the Chicken thats Xeno.... - - - - - - END SPOILER

So I seanb1888 did stephenmac233 tell yo if the movie was an epic like we hope for or are we in for a Phantom Menace of a let down? That's what I want to know.

I think this movie is a prequel only in the sense that it takes place in the same universe at an earlier in time than "Alien", without being a direct bridge. I'm betting that it explains what Space Jockeys essentially are (my guess - a bio-weapon delivery system to wipe out / terraform a planet, based on a host organism encased within a biomechanical suit), without specifically addressing the one seen in Alien. I think we're left to speculate how that ship landed on LV-426, what alien race was involved, and what went wrong. Prometheus would allow us to see the derelict in Alien and realize what it meant, while preserving the mystery itself (still one of my favorite aspects of Alien). This allows Prometheus to explore different threats - including the Engineers, the true force behind all of this, but as yet unseen - and different alien life forms. I don't think there's going to be any need for a Prometheus 2. I want this movie to raise as many thought-provoking questions as Alien did, while shedding some light on those older mysteries.

@ BigDave, cheers for clarifying, i think i get what you meant now in the previous post too. the way i've understood the 'not-really but almost a prequel' (mis)direction is that Alien exists in a universe, with some features defined,i.e. Weyland being a big company, there's a planet LV426 with some naughty little eggs on it, and a crashed ship. so, a scene and world is set.... prometheus exists within that scene, universe, but at an earlier time. Everything in Alien will happen just the way it did, but the prometheus thread of films doesn't have to link to it at all. prometheus could be the grand big story, Alien would fit within it, but more as a short story. It's a much more interesting story with lots of potential for a deeper set of films, films that already are inspiring debate (look at the threads locked for evidence). So, i'm hoping there is no further attemot to link prometheus with Alien. We've ben there, seen that, i'd like them to tell a new story now, hopefully without old badguys from the 70s.

Okay. This sounds reasonably plausible, [u]but I still don't believe it[/u]. There have been too many yo-yo's out running around on the web saying they've "seen" the movie, but they never seem to want to release any "real" details about the plot. With every other movie that I've ever encountered, whether it be a Star Wars prequel, or something else, people who have seen these films in advanced have never hesitated to leak major spoilers. So why now, with Prometheus, are all these pre-screeners suddenly tight-lipped? I have a young nephew who likes to make up a lot of fantastic fiction like, "I was chased by a hog, and he almost got me." However, when you press him for details, he says, "I"m not going to say." In the same way, it's funny how these "pre-screeners" never want to give away anything that we truly haven't heard already. This is in no way meant as slam against seanb1888, but I am getting a little exhausted with all these "I've seen it" plot threads.

I have to disagree. Prometheus 2 should be there because we are into sci-fi universe so unexplained questions doesn't make sense. Sometimes answers even if they don't satisfy or low down our curiosity are good. In any case, I agree with the comment that said, we are going to see something unexpected.

@ Predatordreads from what he has said it dose sound epic and there is alot that we haven't seen so hopefully hes the real deal and some one thats not making up story's as bigdave has posted theres a scene that he explained that is not in the trailers it makes scene. bar that he has no gave much away!! But do we really want to know the story before we even see it? kinda glad hes not splashed it all over here like other trolls. so maybe itis true

Can't win with fanboys. if someone posted every single detail there'd be someone who said it didn't fit the trailers, as if the trailers were already giving everything away. there'd be cries of bullshit echoing for a long time. If someone has seen it and is more low key, not wanting to ruin peoples experience, he is still derided. I'm glad he's keeping it low key

@ Windood - I think we'll just have to wait to see the film for ourselves to truly know. However, you make a good point.

Whether true or not NONE of the secret reviewers will be able to tell you the last 8-11mins because Fox didn't let that go out with the trailers ... makes sense really ... so they won't know the ending ... But ... I don't think they know the movie either ... if I saw it, I would (on request) spill the f*ckin lot ... I'm so tired of these so called wannabees who hold back info to make themselves feel supreme ... just answer the sodding questions FFS ... simples ... aint rocket science ... is it? ... They're ALL now starting to give me the needle ... :) ... @Windood ... Yeah that would happen ... but then I'd rather they ALL just shut theirs mouths to be honest ... and say NOTHING because sayin' something still gives them false Cred for no reason ... Sorry ...
