Because both Enginners and the Prometheus crew are Hypersleeping at some point [untill the SJ wakes up after those puny humans mess around his stuff].

I kinda see your point. Now that im reading into it its probably just coincidental.

It is an effective way to link several ideas in a rather subconscient level [using the same sound to connect happenings or characters]. You see that in movies many times, and in Pink Floyds' Conceptual Albums [a certain chord progression et al]

okay, yeh fair enough. The only reason i've brought up this scenario with confusion is the soundtrack seems to establish three main themes - The Enigneer theme, The Prometheus theme and The Planet theme. It just made me wonder why the engineer theme just subtely slipped into what I would consider a Prometheus theme track. Maybe im just trying to establish too much of some irrelevant linkage to a perfectly great soundtrack.

Well think it like this, if you were to have a specific sound/song to a specific part of the movie this is what it could happen:
PROMETHEUS OST
The part where Shaw is running from the Sjs ship:
Gloria Gaynor - "I Will Survive"
The part where Cuddles is grabbing Shaw and the SJ:
Rick Astley - "Never Gonna Give You Up"
... bad isn't it?

...I just ran through that whole scenario you have created with those songs in my head and nearly cried laughing. Particularly the Rick Astley one with Cuddles that just made me howl.

Well i notice many tracks have simular sounding music to the Engineers track...
Could this imply scenes that the Engineers take part in?
We do not know yet how many scenes the Engineers play a part in, from the trailers it may not show every scene connected to them. Likewise with many other parts.
So yes Hypersleep could be connected to the Space Jockeys.

Now that would be weird, an engineer already on board the Prometheus. Dont think that could work though.

That OST is so good. I love all the subtle references to Alien layed throughout and sadly have listened 15 times. Can't wait to see it play out in the film.
