STOP PUTTING ALIEN 3 DOWN

I liked Alien 3. I read that the original story idea got changed because of a falling out with a writer.The original Alien3 story later became this comic book according to rumor,myth and legend :) [IMG]http://i192.photobucket.com/albums/z292/djrees_2007/47_6710_0_AliensSacrifice1.jpg[/IMG] I've got a copy of this.This particular story doesn't use Ellen Ripley's character but it easily could be her.The story is really,really good.One of the better Alien comic stories out there along with Aliens:Tribes which is probably the best Alien read I've ever had :))

I hated Alien 3 because of the theatrical cut where their so many plot holes and characters disappearing such as Paul Mcgann as Golic appeared and disappeared. Until I saw the Assembly Cut which it restored everything and I'm close to loving it as the other 2 alien films. The only thing is stopping me is the bad puppet alien when its running but I can forgive it since the production was a mess. Alien 3 is a good sequel and a good movie many people hate it because it wasn't a action movie like Aliens. Alien was not a action movie it was a scary horror movie plus these 3 sequels are different so it really depends on oppion ALIEN is a slow paced scifi horror movie ALIENS is a fast paced scifi action movie ALIEN 3 is a slow but fast paced scifi thriller movie I might make a blog of why Alien 3 is good sequel but takes time anyway But Alien 3 is a good movie in my oppion and it is better than Alien Resurrection. :)

Good comments... Yes i think Alien 3 is not as bad as many make out, and the theatrical release was flawed yes, but so was Prometheus. Many of the extras in Prometheus would have added to the flow problems that Prometheus suffered from. And yes the Xeno in Alien 3 would have faired better against poorly armed Prison as opposed to the mutated Fifield did, and look at how easy Fifield disposed of the crew of Prometheus. I dont think Fifield would have put up a better fight than a Xeno. Alien Resurrection however is a movie that well, i dont like, in fact only AVP2 is a bigger disappointment lol.

Killing hicks and newt was just a massive slap in the face to Aliens fans, which didnt help the film. Also, going back to a single alien after the hive/marines carnage of its predecessor was a little silly in my opinion. Its almost like it tried to be like the original, and failed. There was just no tension, and it was blatantly obvious that we were gonna see the prisoners get picked off one by one, and that ripley would have a confrontation with the creature near the end. Still watchable though, and better than ressurrection....

^ Agreed. The main reason Alien 3 leaves a bad taste in my mouth, is the fact that they decided to kill of Hicks and Newt. Shitty idea. Also the fact that there is an egg aboard the escape pod with no possible way of it getting there. But hey, it's a movie, so you gotta take things for what they are. At least they attempted to end the franchise once and for all with Ripley committing suicide. Unfortunately not even this prevented Resurrection from forming...

Sorry but Alien 3 is bad it pretty much down there with Resurrection. It even makes Prometheus look great :O ...

Alien 3 is one of the worst movies ever made. It is beyond "disappointing" because of how they kill Hicks and Newt and they are tasteless enough to show an autopsy of the little girl. The writing was just so bad, etc. Seriously, it was almost like they tried to make a movie on purpose to traumatize the fans and ruin the franchise. Alien 4 was like it was because all you had left were some sick jokes after that. With Prometheus, though, you have a grand buffet of "new things alien" from Ridley Scott. For people who have come to the first two movies over and over to get more of it, it delivers so much conceptually even though the action and horror elements are so different. It's just you have all this to talk about now, and Prometheus 2 to look forward to. The aliens' universe is cast wide open, and if they ever do an Alien 5 it needs to just over-write 3+4, and re-cast Weaver and Biehn, etc.

I fart on Alien 3 and spit on Alien 4! That is all.

i would say the special edition of alien 3 is just as good if not maybe even better then the first to movies, please don't burn me at the steak for saying that lol its my brothers favorite alien movie (still talking about the special edition) he thinks alien is good, but really scary, and also finds aliens to be extremely boring. i disagree, but anyway my point is that version of alien 3 is really awesome so go watch it lol also, i was wondering why they didn't fix the alien effects for the Blu ray? like why not just replace it with a CGI alien? the one in the film is actually a rod puppet, but the green screening is so bad i would actually take CGI over it. not the close ups of course only the bad parts where its running around.
