Not sure how much to believe but they do sound pretty real...
If so I've just ruined the movie for myself!!!

If youre reffering to the press screening reviews no spoilers there just extreamly vague reviews.

checked that link and the only thing saw was "human engineer" not sure if that qualifies as spoiler.

No seriously, the cat is out of the bag. It's up on a couple of the other big forums as well and they all say the same thing [could all the same guy].
SPOILER:
The viewer ended up liking Holloway's character even though he really didn't want to.

What cat and what bag, please explain. You should verry easilly be able to this without linking to anything.
May 28, 2012
It shouldn't be that hard. The I searched a little and found a certain member of another forum spilling all the beans as everyone was asking every question they could think to ask. Staff has already posted that they DO NOT want links to it posted here on this forum so that's not going to happpen.
Like I said before though, I read everything. I pretty much know what heppens. But knowing has not ruined the film for me. Quite the contrary. I'm so much more excited about seeing it now I can't even explain it. It seems to be everything I wanted it to be and the few things that I wanted to see the most are gowing to be shown.
I can't really say if I'd want to go back and not read what I read. I kind of regret it but not really.
Zanyway, if you want to find it, it's not that hard. I will tell you what I read was not on the AVP forum. It's on a Prometheus forum.

It's really not that hard to find. I just googled for it and had no idea what site and found the forum and dudes name literally took a minute. I read some not all spoilers. Not ruined for me plus i have no idea if he is just lying to mess with fans. It's not a huge problem though for me either way it's just like reading a short summary of a book but i'm still stoked to see it on the screen.

Actually AvPGalaxy is fine, there's another site I thought was being alluded to, PrometheusForum.net is the one I was talking about. Seriously bad juju there.

"Is it dead this time?" "I dunno, poke it with this stick and see."

I kind of have mixed feelings about the big spoilers, it makes the movie seem sort of cheesy. On the other hand, it doesn't seem as crazy open-ended as Lost was.
May 29, 2012
What is the use of a spoiler board if you can't spoil.
Some don't want to be spoiled, they can stay out. Some don't care.
May 29, 2012
If you really want it spoiled then just know that we never get any answers about the motivation of the Engineers for what they do.
May 29, 2012
It is just a run-of-the-mill haunted house/ slasher film on an alien planet. It does not sound like a thinking man's film in the least, just a bunch of pseudo-scientific window dressing to get people to think it is more than it really is.
May 29, 2012
Oh yeah, and the Engineer never communicates about why they want to wipe out Earth, why they seeded Earth, or why he wants to kill the crew. He just wakes up, attacks the crew after he scans David (and rips his head off), and then sends the ship to earth with the intent of wiping us out. Basically we get no further to solving the mystery of why things happen than we did with the trailers months ago.
May 29, 2012
@orangecat I think the point of having a spoiler board is so we can freely talk about the plot. What did you think of the big reveals?
May 29, 2012
If all the spoilers turn out to be true and it looks like they are legit then I have to say I am a little bummed. Its sounds like this Lost writer Lindenhof thought he could get away without any reasonable explanations for at least some of the big questions in the movie like SJ origins/motives. You can get away with that kind of writing in TV because you want the people to watch next week so you draw stuff out, give half assed or answer a question with a question solutions, but in a movie things need to progress, questions need at least some resolution. I'm not saying they need to spoon feed everything or resolve everything, but not give us lazy Lost like non resolutions that use the we want the viewer to interpret what happened, which is just code for we couldn't come up with anything good so well let you make some shit up about what you think it is. Oh well, Im sure it will still be worth my money to see it, but Ive tempered my expectations.
Also if it is Shaw and David that survive, I dont see how they can create a viable sequel, whats it gonna be called? Shaw and Davids awesome space adventure to the SJ home planet?

@Artmonk I think most people will be very disappointed that there is no motivation provided for why the Engineers do what they do. The explanation seems to be that the Engineer is just a soldier that is part of a military unit following orders (who gave him those orders and who is in command is never revealed). The Engineer who sacrifices himself in the beginning is also presumably under orders but no explanation is given for why he does what he does either. At the end of the film, Shaw is still wondering why they would seed life on Earth only to want to destroy us later. That does not seem like some profound mystery and, more likely, is just lazy writing. Let us be honest here, writing the motivation for why the Engineers do what they do would take a great deal of thought and research. It would actually involve fleshing out the entire mythology of the alien race and involve a great deal of talent, scientific knowledge, and time. On the other hand, saying that there is a motivation, but never actually providing one, takes almost no effort and conveniently sets up a beginning that seems epic and also gives you room to turn the advanced alien life form into a B movie monster at the drop of a hat. One moment they could be noble and seeding life on Earth and at the next they could be killing everyone on the planet. Why? Because we said so that's why! See how that is lazy writing?

@Drakeequation
While i guess it is on a spoiler board....
Some may feel that your comments have given away a bit too much for them....
Me included lol....
I never read your stuff word for word, but again if i never wanted to be spoilt then i should had avoided any Prometheus fan sites lol...
Some have said they find the reasons, some not so, and its all to do with the ambiguous type of story telling that Lindelof does.
No Direct Answers, but clues that help people to make their own Answers so some would see answers, different to what others see, while others will not see no answers because they would only see things as needing to be shown in hard fact and not things that just fuel speculation.
