@Cypher As I said the original idea was to include the name of people I already exchanged opinions with, but sukkal's piece of advice was very reasonable not to take on account :-)

@Cypher — If it is your desire to equate longevity with superiority and formalize that into a caste system here then go right ahead, but in so doing you will only hasten the end of this place. My [i]per diem[/i] posting ratio puts yours to shame. By what metrics shall superiority be judged? And who shall judge? And for what purpose?

I never said anything like that sukkal. At all. I don't find it very cool of you saying that. I've never dis-respected anyone here to the best of my knowledge, at least on a personal level, in fact I think I've always been quite fair to everyone that's posted here. I know you had a problem with something I posted a few days ago and I quickly fixed that as soon as I became aware of it. I didn't mention anyone by name, all I was sorta trying to say was that with a community of over 6,000 people and not everyone making regular posts, there are going to be some people that aren't going to make someone's list. I don't think that qualifies as having an attitude of being superior over someone. BugHunter didn't make the list at first........ :-P

It would be interesting to compile snippets from the reviews and/or opinions from the people on this list, and to create a score Metacritic style plus a percentage of positive/negative reviews rottentomatoes style. We can even photoshop a Prometheus poster, adding extracts of the postive reviews to it :-)

@Cypher — I have absolutely nothing against you personally and I have only admiration for you in your handling of the sexual-orientation-based slur to which you refer from the other day. I'm simply responding to your (apparent) support here for [u]anyone[/u] being (more) worthy of an arbitrary list while others are not. That is by definition alienating to anyone who is not worthy of the list. Lists of individuals’ names are historically used to bestow exclusive rights to a privileged few or alternately to send "underclasses" out of sight. I am incredibly dubious of ANY list that includes the names of individuals who did not voluntarily put themselves there. The very fact that BugHunter's name was not originally included on this one points to the fact that it was arbitrary. I apologize to you that my choice of words offended you. That was not my intent. My intent is for EVERYONE (who is civil) who wishes to engage in this community to be 100% equally welcome (everywhere, in all discussions, by everyone), and for the site to [u]not[/u] sanction or adopt any norms that endanger that principle.

@ncc1701 — Thanks for the icebreaker. Seriously. I'm 100% in support of your liking Cypher more (as long as you don't post that fact to a public conversation to which I'm not invited). ;•)
