You're deliberately inventing faults with a movie that has few. There is nothing wrong with the editing in Prometheus, it is typical of any feature length thriller and has about 5000 cuts (average). Stop trying to find things wrong with it because it hasn't been made the way YOU wanted.

people arent "creating faults" just highlighting what they believe are faults in the movie if you dont belive the movie is full of faults thats your opinion surely the people that find faults are entitled to theirs?

@Westy I wish I could share your optimism, I really do. Trust me, you don't have to go looking for flaws in this film, you can't escape them. As for Ridley making a shoddy edit on purpose... I don't buy it. The script was poor and we all know you can't polish a turd.

Prometheus is full of inconsistencies. They are very blatant! Editing towards the end was terrible. The ending seemed out of place and to point towards a sequel, I was like........Meh?!!!!!

i sure hope this movie was edited to heck and back, because if the final cut is what was meant to be, then we all just got rolled by Scott and company. everything about this movie was a bitter travesty... I'm almost heartbroken that this movie turned out so bad. even with all it's plot holes and under developed characters, Alien turned out to be an instant classic... this movie is rubbish.

I don't think he did, he just went with a bad script and everything else falls like a pack of cards. A director cut won't help this mess.

I agree such a shame only possibly if the sequel is made by Cameron can include more blue engineers from avatar might save it

[b]"Or even Prometheus and the crystal skull"[/b] If you think about it Prometheus is actually more Kingdom of the crystal skull than it was Alien. A terrible film with all that alien nonsense at the end. Actually Prometheus opening made me think of the end of Kingdom of the crystal skull.

Ridley had said that they cut some gore out, so that would add a few minutes to the movie... As i did feel that some death scenes was very disapointing and made no sence, i commented that they looked like you made cuts to say a Chainsaw Masacre or other Slasher movie to get to to more of a PG-13 but in the end could only get away with 15 for uk.... Now some jumped on me for that, but what i said was true.... Now Ridley has come out and said cuts was made as if they was not the movie would had been 18.... so that explained it to me. Which gives hope for a 18 version at some point, Ridley said that showing the movie to a 15 means it gives them more potential viewers. Does this mean the US release will get full gore count? So yes i worried about some scenes like Fords death it was well not very good.... but in the TV Spots they CGI her head...... After i saw the movie i was like WTF! why do that.... Now it would seem that we was not shown her full death scene in the movie because it would not fit into a 18.... So yes potentially some cuts was made for sakes of getting it to be a 15, but will be shown when on DVD etc, but i would also not put it past some more scenes to be added purely to Milk the Cow!

I think BigDave is probably bang on. Some of the scenes are very choppy and end suddenly. The cuts to make it 15 could easily be added back in to milk the cash cow with 15 and 18 version directors cuts ad nauseum.......
