MemberOvomorphJun-14-2012 2:40 AMAs you all are sifi fans, i wondered.
What is your favourite series (and why?)
Me: I loved Stargate Universe (though i hated all the other SG spin-off)
and the new Battle Star Galactica.
I liked the psychology and how the characters developed towards/against eachother in hard out of space situations.

AdminPraetorianJun-14-2012 2:44 AMI will link a lesser known one that I like. (So far I only know of one person here that likes it too; Abordoli.) It's called "Lexx", it was unique, dorky and fun. :)
OH! And Rutger Hauer (Yes, THE Rutger Hauer of Blade Runner) was in the series so I will link one of the episodes he was in. :)

MemberOvomorphJun-14-2012 2:54 AM@ Shardy, i remember i saw some old V when i was very very small kid
but don't really remember (only the reptile under skin heads i remember, and the curly brown hair woman in red suit)
the new ones, i watched the first 4 episodes or so, and it didn't get me hooked :(

Did you like SG-1 and SG-A??
Did you like the movie?
i loved the movie, and really couldn't appreciate those series.
what did you like in them?

MJD
MemberOvomorphJun-14-2012 3:17 AMwell i loved the movie of course, that was the ground starter to even watch the series, but i have to give it to you. ever since mc gyver i like richard dean anderson and watched it partly cause of him. but to get more detailed answers and there are loads in the sg-1 series. more advanced in atlantis and universe , although i didn´t like sg-a and sg-u that much cause of new characters, baddys etcetera.
i liked the science part the most, since they went into wormholes, timeshifts and many other themes.
most don´t like the series cause its too cliche

MemberOvomorphJun-14-2012 10:12 PMStar Trek
Star Wars - It counts! haha and NOT for the midichlorians
Stargate - Movie, loathed the TV shows
Battlestar Gallactica - Old and New
The Twilight Zone - Serling FTW!
ALIEN
The X-Files was probably one of the best shows ever made for TV period lol at least the first 6 seasons of course. Actually I've been meaning to write a thread for the forum about how many things I understood or saw in PROMETHEUS that came straight outta the X-Files lol

MemberOvomorphJun-27-2012 9:33 AMCan't just pick one...
1.) Space:1999 (Year One, mostly)
2.) Original Star Trek
3.) The Original Outer Limits
4.) Star Trek Deep Space Nine
5.) Star Trek: The Next Generations (Seasons 1-3)
6.) UFO
7.) Voyage to the Bottom of The Sea
8.) X-Files
But, if I was forced to pick just one it would have to be Space: 1999 (Year one). I liked the tone of the series, the premise of man being thrust out into the universe with no control over where he goes and virtually no defense against what's out there. The characters had to use their minds to get out of the situations they found themselves in to survive. It's an excellent series and Brian Johnson (SFX supervisor on ALIEN) supervised the SFX. The production design was excellent too and it was the most expensive TV series ever made at the time.

MemberOvomorphJun-27-2012 8:33 PMI know they weren't great shows but anyone remember Seaquest or Sliders?

Rubirosa
MemberOvomorphJun-27-2012 8:53 PMIt's a tie between The twilight zone , and the revamped Battlestar Galactica. Those shows we're just too good.

NCC 1701
Veteran MemberMemberOvomorphJun-27-2012 8:58 PMgood call on the twilight zone ,,,,Forgot that one for a bit

PrivateHudson
MemberOvomorphJun-27-2012 9:24 PMHey Russ!!
I recall both of those. I found Seaquest to be frustrating because I thought it had a lot of potential...it just didn't get there.
I never really got into Sliders. I had friends who were into it, I just never started watching it.
I liked Babylon 5, but I suspect that one wouldn't hold up under repeat viewings...

MemberOvomorphJun-27-2012 10:28 PMI liked Sliders because I lived just south of San Francisco, so it was cool watching different versions of my local city!
