As you all are sifi fans, i wondered. What is your favourite series (and why?) Me: I loved Stargate Universe (though i hated all the other SG spin-off) and the new Battle Star Galactica. I liked the psychology and how the characters developed towards/against eachother in hard out of space situations.

Can't just pick one... 1.) Space:1999 (Year One, mostly) 2.) Original Star Trek 3.) The Original Outer Limits 4.) Star Trek Deep Space Nine 5.) Star Trek: The Next Generations (Seasons 1-3) 6.) UFO 7.) Voyage to the Bottom of The Sea 8.) X-Files But, if I was forced to pick just one it would have to be Space: 1999 (Year one). I liked the tone of the series, the premise of man being thrust out into the universe with no control over where he goes and virtually no defense against what's out there. The characters had to use their minds to get out of the situations they found themselves in to survive. It's an excellent series and Brian Johnson (SFX supervisor on ALIEN) supervised the SFX. The production design was excellent too and it was the most expensive TV series ever made at the time.

It's a tie between The twilight zone , and the revamped Battlestar Galactica. Those shows we're just too good.

Hey Russ!! I recall both of those. I found Seaquest to be frustrating because I thought it had a lot of potential...it just didn't get there. I never really got into Sliders. I had friends who were into it, I just never started watching it. I liked Babylon 5, but I suspect that one wouldn't hold up under repeat viewings...

I liked Sliders because I lived just south of San Francisco, so it was cool watching different versions of my local city!

Stargate and Stargate Atlantis. I liked the goa'uld and the wraith. Babylon 5. The story was amazing. Star Trek series. No explanation needed. :P Lexx. Hilarious for me the first two seasons. Red Dwarf. Also hilarious in the beginning. X-files, mainly the early seasons.

No Contest here...In fact...I have a Hungarian friend my whole life whom lives in FLA now with his wife and son and he and I have been Best Friends since we were around 14...and since then we have been watching the tapes we have of all of the original Star Trek Episodes and what we do is call each other out of the blue and ask a Question which must begin... "In Which Episode" ? I have since, needless to say become the Ultimate expert If I may so so myself on all things pertaining to Gene's original series... In fact if anyone asked me now..."In Which Episode...bla bla bla..."? I can most certainly name that episode the moment I see the question, or a few short ones right after. I never miss! My favorite all time top 2 Hour TV science Fiction Premier was the Premier of the Revamped "Outer Limits" series entitled "The SandKings" !!! I just loved how them Sandkings created castles based on the can of peaches Beau Bridges left out one night next to their tank!!! & that all 3 generations of Bridgs's were used in the cast of that film. ...and of course, that it was fantastically amazing to watch and still is, has a shelf life second to none... By The Way, not too long ago...George sent me one of these... That's a wonderful thing to consider: The X-Files - my all time favorite tv show....hands down! The Twilight Zone (of the 60's of course) Battlestar Galactica (reboot) Firefly Stargate Doctor Who

Star Trek, Stargate, Babylon 5, V (original), The Twilight Zone, Twin Peaks, The X Files, Lost, Dr Who, battlestar galactica, caprica and fringe. and Why? Because I love science fiction...you know...the hypothetical scenarios of a future for the human race, Contact with alien life forms, new political and social models, technological breakthroughs and the most important of all: The exploration of the universe. And also I love the adventure in the space ala Star Trek (in the same way that a fan loves the epic adventures of the Tolkien Universe) and at the same time, I love the cryptids mysteries ala Twilight Zone, X files, Twin Peaks or Lost...
