For those of you who consider Prometheus a classic...

I think Merc7 is aiming this at users like Spartacus who have been pretty active on the dislike reviews board and posted things about how Prometheus is a flawless masterpiece and the greatest film of all time.

meh... I'm not a Prometheus Fan at all, but I believe we have to respect opinions [even if they make little sense or goes against owr own]. That said, I'll move along now.

Regarding the rolling juggernaut; [i]This scene looked great and it was an awesome special effect. But logic would suggest that if a huge wheel is rolling a particular direction, it will keep rolling in that direction until it looses momentum and topple over. So, just like everything else in this film, no one does the logical thing of running sideways away from the rolling ship but instead they run in front of it.[/i] Thoughts on this one?

Furthermore, I read opinions which are from the people themselves. Don't really care for the opinion of someone who can't come up with their own reasons to dislike the film and just quote everyone elses. I'm out this beyatch!

And finally... [i]The ending of Prometheus is definitely the worst part of the film, it’s so muddled. Somehow David knows that the pissed off Engineer is coming to find Shaw. We don’t know how he knows this but he decides to be nice and warn her. You think that this is going to lead into a long cat and mouse sequence between the Engineer and Shaw, but as soon as the Engineer smashes his way into the room, Shaw presses a button and the engineer is attacked by the ”facehugger.” There is no tension, no build up and no logic. Shaw decides that instead of going back to Earth, she is going to take David’s head and one of the alien ships to go find more of these Engineers that tried to kill her and get ”answers.” What will she be eating on this trip? Do they have a toilet on the ship? Maybe she will enter hyper sleep but is there a pod she can use on the ship? Is it configured for a human being? And can she trust David because hes been so trustworthy so far![/i]

@Merc7 I've seen you didn't like the movie, but why are provoking people that liked it? We must respect opinions. Even if you liked the movie and you just wanted to share this article with us, you wouldn't have the rights of being constantly posting provocative replies like "Read prometheus lovers, it hurts..." Merc my boy....the movie is about some rich guy whimming out...It is not a scientific or military operation...You are missing the whole point...its the subject matter that captures us...a space ship on a mission to explore and then they find something....Now that is a great story...if military, this film would hit the heights. If scientific, it would rule because methods and procedures would go along way...Its a trillionaire having a pedicure by a robot...get it?

I do not hate this movie but think that Prometheus is a masterpiece is an exaggeration (even ridiculous IMO).

I really don't give a shit of what anyone else thinks about the film. I found it visually stunning and completely engrossing, with many issues I have pondered. I found it more reminiscent of Blade Runner than Alien. To me the objections to the film are trivial. I should point out that I have seen many highly trained intelligent people do incredibly stupid things, usually when confronted by something unexpected or outside their area of expertise, which is why I think the issue of Fifeld's behavior is trivial. Also, the impression I got was that the trip was rushed because Weyland was dying, and they just grabbed some technical resources, offered them a boatload of money, and packed them into hypersleep. I fail to understand why so many people feel the need to force everyone else to agree with their viewpoint that the movie sucked. Seems kind of infantile to me.

wow I take a break from this site and the arguments still keep on coming. It doesn't bother me either way I'd just like to say I'm surprised so many that don't like the film are still here. I'm not one of those who thinks you don't have a right to say you don't like the film, really, but I like the film and don't even feel the need to come here much but I see even the people who don't like it are still posting and I'm actually curious about that. Merc, what do you hope to accomplish by staying here and posting negative reviews and links to people who point out plot holes? I'm just curious and I'm seriously not judging, you have every right to do whatever you'd like so don't think I"'m saying you shouldn't be doing what you do. I'm fascinated how much people hate Prometheus. It's more entertaining that the film to read how much it has disappointed people (at times). I'll take my answer off the air. LOL

I think this article is pointless. All those 20 flaws have a logical explanation.

and why people think that this is like Odyssey 2001? references and tributes to this classic does not mean that Prometheus reaches the same level...is even a lack of respect to Stanley Kubrick because his film is a true masterpiece. I believe that we must accept that Prometheus has many flaws, and can not be classified as a masterpiece.
