June 28, 2012@ spartacus...engineering wasnt knocking the props out of your entire hypothesis, he was, like he later said, just taking issue with your use of the word "terra form" (and i agree w him...wrong word, but accurate gist). Sorry if that had already been cleared up, but the miscommunication was bugging me (ie you guys actually agree more than you disagree...just a definition/word choice issue). sorry; moving on.
I think the xeno mural (the one behind the green mineral(ish) looking thing) really adds something to the timeline of events and any future narrative that may come to fruition. Depicted in said mural: 1) an E.B.E. that more closely resembles the traditional xeno than the deacon (clearly some type of "xenomorph" anyways). 2) traditional facehuggers (with very slight physiological deviations from the ones we know and love). 3) Humans (could be engineers, but they look much more like humans than engineers) being used as hosts for the abovementioned facehuggers. SO! what does it all mean? clearly the deacon is not a proto xeno (it post-dates the images on the mural etc.). As someone else stated, perhaps the deacon is a new variation on the original bio weapon? Perhaps the deacon was just a genetic bastard that was never meant to exist? One thing seems obvious... As evidenced by what is depicted on the mural, humans have had exposure to the traditional xenomorphs in the past. Also, the engineers likely had a hand in facilitating that human/xeno encounter. Im very interested to see how this part of the story plays out. I know ridley has stated that any sequel would deviate even further from the "alien" story. Frankly, I hope thats true! i would like to see the human/engineer dynamic take center stage. HOWEVER, the biology and chronology of the traditional xenomorphs, the deacon, and the black goo NEED to be explained. Any thoughts? I think this fits into "what went wrong". I hope... ;)
