I agree with you Ravager. As well as the rest of the comments here.
The comics lead more into logical answers of how things work. Though even the ants you refer to have evolution on their side. not all ants (Hymenoptera) are the same. I live in Hawai`i where we have a solitary wingless "wasp" being I don't believe it's a true "ant" though by all appearances it is. On top of that ants and wasps are synonomous of the same large family group. What I'm trying to say is life does different things in different environments. Life is controlled by different "elements"; food, water, etc. When food sources are low life is forced to do things it doesn't normally enjoy doing. Though when food is high life's doors are swung wide open and a feast is at hand. So saying this I'd believe the creature is more than capable of adapting to both sides equally. How is much left to us (In imagination, for creation).

@Ravager, The Alien Queen; No one knows for sure. The Deacon is just a baby atm, no one knows if it is a baby Queen or a new or older type of Alien. We will get more answers when the next 2 movies come out. :)

Deacon- female, completely first gen. It took the DNA of Halloway, Shaw, and the goo to produce the proto-hugger to then mix again with the Engineer. So technically it's of completely new origins which for a prequel doesn't help much on showing what fans and enthusiasts what they've A been wanting B what is to become. Cool idea for showing the DNA of xenomorph, in evolutionary action, but very open ended with little to tie things together with well.
