MemberOvomorphJul-03-2012 5:18 PMHello my friends! The big question to all this! Will Shaw and David finally meet God/The Engineer's Creator in Paradise? How will he/she/it look like? Ridley has said that Paradise isn't what we expect it to be so will that also include God? I really hope Shaw and David do meet him and that Giger designs him!

MemberOvomorphJul-04-2012 3:06 AMIf I am not wrong, story of shaw and david will not be resumed. New story towards the engineers and the similar other life forms which are intelligent will be explored, with some new symbols and mythology which slightly connects with the prometheus and this goes tangent only not to spoil the previous film's take.
Uncertainty is the only certainty there is, and knowing how to live with insecurity is the only security.

MemberOvomorphAug-01-2012 11:39 PMTBH I think "god" will be some sort of engineer type looking thing, like the elder/older looking engineer.

MemberOvomorphAug-02-2012 1:18 AMBut Giger's already given us a look at a REAL space traveller, the original Space Jockey
WHO WAS CLEARLY AN ELEPHANTINE GIANT looking into a time-scope to navigate the mega-dimensions.
What's with this shaved nappy wearer?

MemberOvomorphAug-13-2012 12:01 AMIf Ridley and team go in the Gnostic/Zoroastric direction for the Gods: (both quotes from wikipedia)
In late antiquity the term archon was used in Gnosticism to refer to several servants of the Demiurge, the "creator god" that stood between the human race and a transcendent God that could only be reached through gnosis.

In the context of the English language gnosis generally refers to the word's meaning within the spheres of Christian mysticism, Mystery religions and Gnosticism where it signifies 'spiritual knowledge' in the sense of mystical enlightenment.[
I'm pretty sure the Engineers are stand-in's for the Archons.
If they go in the Lovecraftian direction, pretty much anything goes. But there are similarities between the Elder Ones and the Star-Spawn of Cthulu in ALIEN and PROMETHEUS.
For in At the Mountains of Madness we find the history of a conflict between two interstellar races (among others): the Elder Ones and the Cthulhu-spawn.
I'm expecting a combination of both Gnostism and Lovecraft.
