When David gets Vickers her robe we have the following conversation...
Vickers
"ROBE...HOW LONG"
David
"2 years, 4 months, 18 days, 36 hours, 15 minutes"
...excuse me 36 hours???
And another thing...
They come out of hyper-sleep on December 25th 2093...
...And Shaw and David leave in another Juggernaut on January 1st 2094...
...Thats a week, but we only see one night pass

Okay I get what your saying ACF but we still have the issues of
- David's 18 days, 36 hours, 15 minutes. On earth we have 24 hours per day not 36+
- At most it seems they spend 2 nights/3 days on LV-223, which being a moon would assumingly have shorter days than Earth, so the reverse would be true - a week on LV-223 would probably equal a day on Earth.
Now taking into account all this and the fact that they were they one Earth week (7 LV-223 weeks maybe) even though we only see at most two nights, it just doesn't make any sense, at all

Eureka!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I didn't make any attempt to address the 36 hour issue. But I will now say that IMHO it was just a blooper in the script- Maybe...
My whole point was that I agree that the time shown between 25 December and ! January didn't make any sense at all, and I was agreeing with allinamberclad's post. But I didn't come off as humorously intended- to make silly statements that would explain nonsense.

You would have though someone would have noticed the 36 hour thing?? even Fassbender himself?? unless it's deliberate for some reason?
The delay in take off (maybe Shaw put David back together with his body?), you would have thought in that time the 'Deacon' would have found them..

More silliness, as indeed it would be ridiculous to take Shaw a week to put Davis's head back on.
Perhaps the "36 hours..." bit is a nod to the 2000 Ridley Scott film Gladiator. In it there is a line from Maximus to Marcus Aurelius stating that he has been away from his wife and home "Two years, 264 days and THIS morning".
What say you?

Eh, but it just doesn't pan out that such an obvious error was overlooked. Yet another mystery, or other thing put into the film to make some of us crazy...

Okay people seem to be getting their knickers in a twist about dates. The Prometheus arrived at LV223 December 21st 2093. It's in big bloody letters at the beginning. Shaw and David leave LV223 on January 1st 2094. The dialogue suggests Prometheus lands later that same day. As for a chronology Snorky, why don't you PM me and we'll talk about dates. Christ knows I have a comprehensive timeline covering events of Alien etc. Yes the diting of the film doesn't seem to make events spread over some 10 days but we aren't sure how long Shaw was learning the ships systems before they left.

Actually b5historyman the crew of the Prometheus are awoken on December 25th, not 21st (thats showing David alone for four days), as supported by Janek putting up the Christmas tree and Holloway statement "It's christmas and I wanna open my presents".
Also I am currently writing an extensive chronology on all 10 movies.

Said December 21st 2093 on the print I saw as Prometheus. approached LV223. Since I've only seen the film twice, I kept mental notes. As you can appreciate you can't scribble notes in the dark. Just because Janek put up a christmas tree doesn't make it December 25th either. Since most people tend to put trees up before then at the very earliest the crew were awoken would be the morning of 22nd December. You got no real sense of the time you saw David going about his routine although it would appear to be a day by all accounts.

I will study the film closer when I get a dvd of it. If you want the dates of the Alien films I worked them out years ago. The shortened version of my timeline material first appeared in Facehugger magazine that was produced by the Aliens Fan Club back in the 90's.

Again, it only infers, not says its December 25th, If it was they would be saying its Christmas Day wouldn't they? Janek putting up a tree and saying he wants to open his presents, well who wouldn't before Christmas day. The truth of the matter is the timeline is a bit wonky anyway. When I compiled the timeline for the original Alien movies it took some working out especially for Aliens and Alien 3 determining what took place between these movies. yes I also did a bit on AvP too but you will already know that as well from one of my other posts. Anyway am siging off as my job requires I have to get up at 5.30 am GMT. You only have to ask, I am not precious about sharing I just expect a credit where its due and that's all...
