Do you wish the Engineer was a good guy?

When it turned out the alien could talk, and it just wanted to be evil, I was like, what, why? Same goes for Mars Attacks....but then that's a far stretch away from Prometheus I guess. Those aliens had a sense of humour, unlike mister five across the eyes there in his fancy sleeping of tomorrow.
But seriously most of us must have thought for just a moment that the Engineer coming out of hyper sleep was not evil but benign. I still can't really figure out why he would fain being of good intention...then again we are supposed to come from them and humans manipulate and lie all the time so the apple might not fall far from the tree. Part of me was pretty bummed out that he acted like yet another monster, you know, kill kill. But I can't figure out a good ending to the movie if he had just buddied up to the crew, ya know, bio-mechanic par-tay in Vicker's quarters. Maybe his trust would have been betrayed by somebody along the way, perhaps even Shaw, to get back at them for killing Holloway. There were some possibilities there I guess. What do you guys think?
