Do androids dream of Elizabeth Shaw?

Maybe this is an avenue Scott is exploring to some small degree in Prometheus? Its not inter-species attraction as such its inter-idon'tknowwhat!

I think David would go for either gender, but Shaw has his attention for now. As for sex, I'm pretty sure Weyland would make him whole, and probably install some programing - if anything, to experiment and see how far he could push human interaction with an android. There are "love" models in this universe. They would have to be realistic.
I'm playing around with something like that in my story - the gathering data part anyway of sexual interaction.

Well.....
David; although in cahoots with Vickers, probably thought of her as a meddling bitch. Throughout the film, she was always lurking around and keeping an eye on David and everybody else. She was perhaps a thorn in the side of David's mission (working for Weyland). She didn't believe one thing about this mission.
Even though Weyland was very superficial in his co-operation with Shaw's faith, David could be said to have felt more strongly toward her- as she was looking for the same thing (however, different application) as his boss Weyland.
He viewed her dreams.
He might have done this to interrogate her mind for clues to what was motivating her. Might have done this to spy for Weyland too.
But I don't think so.
As an android, he is without emotion. But chemical/physiological responses- Life in the form of a heartbeat, elaborate emotions and reflexes are something that a machine can see and perhaps appreciate in another "machine".
She is a version of what he was created to impersonate. She is the same species as his creator.
Human.
Without emotion (namely Passion) he could in fact appreciate her specific individuality. Rather than Vickers, or the other shallow characters. I think Shaw has what it takes to "Turn him on"...

I believe that David relates to Shaw and is fascinated by her dreams because she believes in a personal God with a capital G. She believes that she was intentionally created by a "caring father." David was also created by a "caring father."
Shaw's biblical God is one of both horrific wrath and boundless love. A complex personality to say the least. David has no access to a relationship with Shaw's God because the type of soul that allows one access to such a relationship was denied him. If not in reality, in dogma, because that's what his "caring father" told him. So, he has some access to an understanding of God through Shaw's psyche. She is interesting to him for that reason if not others... like...
She also believes that the Engineers (as angels?) had a role in human creation. The kind of *E*ngineering that they apparently did to make us is likely in a more closely parallel paradigm to what Weyland ('s angels (= engineers)) did to create David.
Ultimately, I believe that David feels Shaw has more to TEACH him than anyone else on board the ship for the mission. Of course, that will happen via his *studying* her... as a test subject (if necessary)... He is not designed to be hampered by everyday human ethics and very likely unaware when he comes across as creepy. He apparently did not have a copy of We Need to Talk about Kevin to watch during the trip.
