My wife saw me checking out the site and wondered it it as a 'Board' about the movie.. She was aware of the various 'Ancient Aliens' programs. I briefly mentioned the various civilizations having the depictions of stars/suns on cave walls/paintings...in a common pattern ..indicating visitors from another world/planet. I don't think she will see the movie,,but I was curious how much of the Prometheus storyline you would tell..to encourage(or discourage) a friend from seeing the movie?
She was aware of the various 'Ancient Aliens' programs.
What does she THINK about Ancient Aliens, that is the question... ?? I find most of the actual Ancient Aliens program so pseudo-scientific as to make it unwatchable, which in turn makes it hilarious and therefore very entertaining—if I'm in the right mood. That said, the Engineers are super-interesting to me—more interesting than anything about Prometheus other than David 8. If she is squeamish at all, telling her about the "body horror" in advance is not going to help at all.

Yeah, leave the little body horror frisson aside; don't show her any Giger art, for example. :) But what to tell i.e. what is this film about? It seems to be about DON'T LOOK, and that's the anti-thesis of Science. It's weird how 'finding our origins could be our end' in the sense that OUR ORIGINATORS were trying to get to us to MUR DER US, no? Or is this another Lindelof-maze dead end? Someone should tally the number of dead ends Lindelof wrote per episode of Lost and extrapolate that out to the number of narrative dead ends in Prometheus - correlation?

I have told some of my friends who are not SO into their scifi Its a rollercoaster ride with some heavy scenes ..be aware! 8) but its one of those brilliant movies that you go away with as much as you put in at one level its a thrilling fast paced spectacle on another level its full of references and hidden meanings and for the old school Alien fans its a magical return to the universe :) I know... Im just so appreciative of Ridleys return after seeing Aliens opening night 1979 as a very young girl...... who has never forgotten ;)

THe first time I watched 'Alien' I fell asleep in a hotel room in San Francisco.. It still took a couple of later viewings to appreciate the story... Seeing Prometheus in a theater was a real treat as the large screen added to the message of the movie.. I especially enjoyed the sound,,,but wish I had access to closed caption for better understanding of the dialog. Yes the theme is interesting,,but being presented in a Sci-Fi movie,,that immediately turns people off, It is just if you find an interesting movie,,you want to bring to someone's attention..as I hope they would do to me
