1. Was there any indication of the violent sandstorm blowing up so suddenly for any reason other than it helping ensure that Beavis & Butthead were cut off from the ship and/or providing an excuse for effects I presume looked good in 3D (ie the whizzing sand as the crew struggle at the airlock etc)? 2. On repeated viewing, is it more obvious that the Cobralien/Hammerpede is the apparent result of Earth-like worms bathing in spilled goo? 3. Does the mutated Butthead's bad-tempered return to the ship drive the story forward at all, other than in having him eliminate several minor nameless characters we barely even knew were present? thanks R

'..David shouldn't have infected Holloway,.." Did you think that David knew ..or hoped.... that Holloway would sleep with Shaw? From a testing standpoint,,two experiments from the use of one finger..

@Indy John- Since they were a couple, David must have known they would co-operate (wink) in advancing his mortifying experiment. Even so, Fifield's mutation was far more obvious, deadly (to others- in the moment) and accelerated than Holloway and later Shaw. Fifield's mutation doesn't reduce the significance of what also happened to Holloway & Shaw. But in my opinion (as referenced by the post question #3) it is a short cut to what David did. It was necessary and did provide an action packed (yeah, right!) way to get rid of a few of those unimportant extras on the ship.
