I found the following here......contactmusic.com.....and it contains information that makes the sequel look interesting in a way that only reading Ridley's qoutes will relate.... Damon Lindelof - Prometheus Sequel Slated For 2014/2015 Release 02 August 2012 06:02:29 AM The 'Prometheus' sequel is set for a 2014 or 2015 release. The eagerly anticipated follow-up to the blockbuster is being actively pursued by studio Fox but co-writer Damon Lindelof may not be available to work on it due to scheduling conflicts. Fox told The Hollywood Reporter: ''[Sir Ridley Scott and Fox] are actively pushing ahead with a follow-up,'' and looking to a 2014 or 2015 release. Ridley has previously hinted at the name for the sequel which is expected to again feature Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace. When discussing what he envisages in the second movie, he referenced the film's original working title, 'Paradise', suggesting it will be used next time. He said: ''From the very beginning, I was working from a premise that lent itself to a sequel. ''I really don't want to meet God in the first one. I want to leave it open to Shaw saying, 'I don't want to go back to where I came from. I want to go where they came from.' ''I'd love to explore where [Dr. Shaw] goes next and what does she do when she gets there because if it is paradise, paradise can't be what you think it is.'' The director views paradise in his movie as ''sinister and ominous''. He added: ''Because [the Engineers] are such aggressive f*****s. I always had it in there that the God-like creature that you will see actually is not so nice, and is certainly not God.''

I look forward to the continuation of the continuation of Prometheus. The figure of ENGINEERS proposed by Ridley Scott, in his film resembles with the protagonist called "Overlords," by Arthur C Clarke in his book "The end of childhood." Perhaps the ending is as surprising as the end of the book, where it is revealed that humans were created with the purpose of developing psychic and intuitive elements required to interact with a "UNIVERSAL MIND", devoid of body and ruler of universe, while the "Overlords", limited by biological conditions are mere workers conspiring against their masters. In conclusion, with the eternal conflict between "body" and "soul", proposed in the "CHILD star," 2001, Space Odity of Kubrick. Estou usando o google tradutor - portugues - ingles.

I have always been of the frame of mind that Lovecraft's universe will come to life in the big screen. But it must be done by people who have a huge knowledge of the Chtutlu universe penned by H.P Lovecraft. It is so sad to think that lovecraft died poor in Providence at the age of 47. I hope that his universe is displayed correctly on screen. H.R Giger had stated that Lovecraft has been a huge influence on his work. Which is something that can be seen in all of his creations. That is why Giger must work on the sequel and let loose. That is why the creators of the Engineers (clones), must look macbre and imposing. I for one am not satisfied by the look of the Engineer in Prometheous. The orginal Space Jockey should be the blue print for the sequel. I just cannot get it out of my head that the original Space Jockey is what it is. It was an amazing site to see him sitting in his chair. He looked regal and imposing. Maybe that quote that is used in the film of a king rising and falling pertains to the original Space Jockey, and the Elephantine race he comes from. Maybe the Emgineers are a by-product of experiments done by the Elephrace. I must add that the human race must all be a by-product of Space Jockey technology. So maybe the reason the Engineer attacked Shaw and her friends was because the Engineer and his comrades are jealous of how the Space Jockeys treated the human race. They gave us a place to live in a natural environment and the Engineers were treated like slaves. Maybe all of this hostility is really because of jealosy.

i'll have to go with Rubirosa, i also read in the "Alien vault" book that the space jokcey was an exoskeleton rather than a suit .although i would like to think that the space jockeys were a lone mysterious race that didnt have a hand in human creation or didnt have a creator .The idea of it being a bald humanoid in a suit removes the mysteriousness and creepiness the original jokcye should hav had The jockey from alien had a more Lovecraftian feel to it, like something out of the Cthulu mythos. And the Jokey being an a creature that we never saw before and dont understand . it had a creepy unrecognisable elephantine look to it. the jokey in alien reminds me of the great old ones that came from space. like Cthulu who was trapped in a deep dark place underwater the space jockey was laying dead in a dark ship in a dark abandoned planet. the original space jockey had a weird grotesque appearance that we dont recognize and understand kind of like the appearance of Cthulu although in Giger's way ofcourse.

You are correct in everyway King. I agree with you 100% percent on everything you just wrote. Not only the appearance of the Space Jockey was great. But also the music that was used in the scene. The music was titanic in volume. It really made you feel that you were looking at a true extraterrestial.

exactly, like look at the last pic of the diver with his lights flashed on Cthulu, the jokey basically looks similar to him minus all the tentacles on its face but one. thats my point, nothing about a bald humanoid scared me in prometheus. which is why they should have kept the jockey the way it is an giant elephantine creature you wouldn't dare look at while its still alive. not to mention the distress signals sound it sent (the one from the directors cut 2003) perfectly suits its eerie appearance in ALIEN.

@whatisthematrix the Lovecraft influences may be in the plot and mythology of Prometheus 2. This has nothing to do with the visual and aesthetic, and indeed Giger himself has influenced some of his work on Lovecraft. I postie that because I think that the creator God of the Engineers is more frightening and powerful in the same way that Cthulu opaque to the Elder Thing. regards

"i'll have to go with Rubirosa, i also read in the "Alien vault" book that the space jokcey was an exoskeleton rather than a suit " Well as i explained in other posts, their suits are actually living and bond to them, so that instead of a Fur Coat we wear, imagine the coat when worn actually bonds to us just as it did with the animal it was taken from. Now look at the Space suits the Engineers wear as being more leathery like Snake skin and indeed also like a Spiders Exo Skeleton that it can shred. This look, hints that the Engineers suit was intend a Exo Skeleton that the Engineers worn. As of now we do not know what the Space Jockey 100% was, but it does seem that Ridley is going for it to be the same as what we saw in Prometheus and that is a Humanoid inside a Bio Mechanical Exo Skeleton Suit. Yes some of us would have wanted the Space Jockey to had remained as the skeleton of some Alien looking creature as opposed to a Space Suit. I guess we will find out our answers in Prometheus 2 we should find out then who the Elders are and there connection with the Engineers and hopefully the Space Jockey in Alien. While speculation that the Engineers had stolen the Tech from a Elephantine race is interesting, maybe its also clutching at straws for those who wanted to maintain that the Space Jockey in Alien was not no Human looking Race in a Space Suit. We dont know what way Ridley will go with this, but i think he will stick with the Space Jockey being simply a Space suit. The comments by Ridley do seem to point to that those who want to see a Elephantine Race will be left disappointed. But on the plus side, he has also hinted that the Muscular Engineers could be servants created by the Elders and also hinted that the Elders are not God or the supreme creator so something must of created them. Question is who/what and if we will ever find out or see what created the Elders/Engineers.

I was actually just going to point out the fact that their suits might have melded into heir skin over time just like the pressure suit the last engineer was wearing. Scott also mentioned in a n interview somewhere about the space jockey that died in alien that he might have been one of the few to escape LV-223 but had to land becuase he was infected by the cargo he was carrying.

If the exo-suit of the Engineers are primarily designed to be a cryo-stasis suit for their technology and spaceships...who knows what else they might be able to hook up to: Like old Cthuhul. I find it interesting that the Mural in the temple room shows an engineer laying down with a biomorphic beast in ice caves on Lv-399

A sinister, ominous, and violent Paradise. This is gonna be the best movie ever... lol I've been watching the Prometheus gross numbers like a hawk, and am thrilled that the next installment has gotten the green light.
