I like Alien 3...BUT

I think she's a good actress and somehow connected with the alien species due to her lead role. So it's hard to see Alien series without her. I mean people hated AVP because she wasn't there.

The idea, the theme, the principal behind Alien Resurrection (as is the case with AVP and AVPR) is sound, the problem is the approach taken by the directors hired... - Alien Resurrection - A self parody monster movie - AVP - WWE monster movie - AVPR - Teen slasher monster movie that is why these films are hated, because they are bad films. Had the writers and directors stayed true to the source material and the ideas they were trying to convey there would have been much less hate for the above films. The problem is that despite its majorly troubled production and the sub-par on screens results, Alien 3 made money - which made David Giler realise that as long as the movies had Aliens in them the films would generate cash because we the fans would watch them.

@Snorks. I get what you're saying. I think. But you could say the same for Ridley with Alien and Cameron with Aliens. The way you judge whether or not it is PURELY a money making product is by the lack of imagination and giving in to popular demand, like with Alien Reserrection and the AvP monstrosities. I really don't think that Alien 3 was purely a Money making product. I can see the artistic expression in it.

i cant find anything i like about that movie at all, i absolutely hate it and pretend it never happened. although, i did like the shaved head on ripley, many people don't have the right head shape to pull that off. ive shaved my head before so nice to see another fellow woman take the plunge ^_^

i didnt like the setting, the plot, the characters, the alien and its effects. i also felt that they ruined the ending to aliens. i read that hicks was supposed to survive and the story was supposed to follow him instead of ripley, that would have been interesting. even sigourney said they should "let the poor woman die already" in so many words. @belladonna. If you're suggesting that i was argueing with you about it, i'm sorry, but i wasn't, i was just asking a question! I think the Characters are not very likable, we don't have any Empathy with them because they are Murderers and rapists. But it adds to the Tension and Nightmare that Ripley is going through! The Acting is very good btw. There are some very respected British actors in it, who did a fantastic job, with what they had to work with! I agree about the Alien though.

i don't make suggestions, if i thought you were arguing with me i would have said so, goofball. :) true. i just foudn it odd i didnt like anyone! especially since i love freddy kreugar, pinhead, and other such murderus "bad guy" characters. speaking of freddy.....i didn't care for the set, i thought it looked like an old nightmare on elm street set that was left over. glad we agree on the alien! it was too early for CGI i think, looked pretty shabby. but i am a huge fan of puppets and costumes so i am pretty biased about that. i didnt care for alien res either :/ but i did see that they tried and tested people in suits in the water and they couldn't swim right so they had to use digital. i hate digital but its better then someone in a costume drowning! safer is better obviously. i could go off on res too. one of the only things i liked was the "father" ship. i always thought it was extremely sexist for men to always call an object female. like a gun or a boat, so on. we never hear an object called "he", i loved that and wish it was done more to make ur genders more equal. personally i call objects "it" no matter what it is. a ship is a ship damn it, it isnt a lady! lol n i HATED the newborn alien. the nose bugged me and its weird droopy boobs.. then it has that freaky vagina looking thing starting from its crotch up to its belly. i would have loved to help design a newborn for them, but i was a kid in school then so i don't think they would have asked for my help lol.

@belladonna. Us men name our Cars and Boats after women in an affectionate way, because we love that Car or boat. Not because we are being sexist. Well, i'm obviously commenting on behalf of most Blokes anyway Lol.

well you are commenting on you and guys that actually have respect for us ladies!! you guys are much too few around here! in history and present (had the unfortunate luck to meet such a person, and the mistake of dating one) there are men that call these things female because they think of us as belongings and objects also. such people have the tendency to call everything they own "she" and treat their partner as if they owned them like a pet. luckily i have known people on both sides of the spectrum so i dont have ill will towards the entire male gender :) especially since i have met plenty of female jerks also. but i still do like "father ship", never heard that before and found it very futuristic. also many computerized/ AI voices for such things are commonly female. it is nice to see a change. sometimes i prefer male voices, like "kit" or "hal". they fit their vehicles very well and have a nice calm voice easy on the ears. even when they are scary as hell... like hal!

Yeah, you know there is good and bad in every gender and race. My Wife had a really bad time with Blokes, until she met me. I thought i had restored her faith in Men, until last night in bed when i Trumped and pulled the blanket over her head. Childish, i know.

if that if childish then i am a child, i "dutch oven" my boyfriend all of the time lol. especially after i eat a lot of cabbage or eggs haha. true, i have had many friends of many races and ive moved to a new place and the particular majority race there didnt like me and made racist comments, i didnt get it. i was raised in a military family so i was used to a lot of races and genders being equal. i was pretty culture shocked when my dad retired. its odd, the majority of my friends have always been guys, nice guys, and i always ended up with some prick go figure. at least i have a very low BS level and know when to hightail it out of there. im glad your wife found someone nice, even with the farts lol.

Yeah, I prefer that. Hopefully we will get to see somethin like that in the Sequel.

i hope so, seems like all of the concept art that gets rejected in these movies, i prefer over their final choice.

Alien 3 has also left the door open for another Sequel. In Alien, we see Dallas and Brett mutating into eggs. So it would be reasonable to assume that a few of the convicts were also being mutated? At the end, they only close the facility down. They don't destroy it. But maybe that wouldn't be such a great idea. We would probably end up with somethin like Alien Reserrection.

How did the egg get on the sulocko? If you noticed when the showed the flash shot of the egg, it was up high on the corner almost upside down. my theory is that the queen laid an egg in the undercarriage (landing gear) of the drop ship. the extended verison of alien 3 is way way better than the theatrical verison....a must see if you are an alien fan. I thought that vincent ward wrote alien3.....all they did was change the setting of the movie.
