IIRC Ridley (or remarks attributed to him) hinted in the pre-production phase that an important element of the threat/dilemma of the characters concerned the time-dilatory effects of faster-then-light travel, something which pops up mildly in the (spurious?) 'Harvest' script but is absent from the finished film. Any thoughts? Is my memory playing tricks?
