MemberOvomorphDec-22-2012 4:41 AMSomeone brought up the potential connection between Prometheus/ Alien universe and Blade Runner universe and I answered that there was some material in the form of a letter from Weyland about a corporation that is very thinly disguised as Tyrell corp and expresses disfavor in Tyrell's genetic androids - replicants, as opposed to the kind produced by Weyland, i.e. synthetics. The letter suggests that Peter Weyland thought playing God with genetics was an abomination compared to his synthetic creations made of wire, plastic and other inorganic materials. This viral promotional material actually contradicts the viral video of the 2023 TED talk directed by Luke Scott where Peter Weyland challenges anyone who considers his synthetic men as unnatural. It strikes me as being a bit hypocritical to pass the same kind of ignorant judgement on Tyrell for doing very much the same kind of thing both of which could be considered as unethical enterprises by religious backward thinking people. MemberOvomorphDec-22-2012 5:36 AMYes, this is where i found out about Weyland knowing of 426. But ive read on one of these forums before, stating that the man who wrote this didnt have any contribution from RS and said of it as being an "Easter egg" to find and not being canon. Dont know if all the other statements are correct.

MemberOvomorphDec-22-2012 6:02 AMYes I would not consider it cannon especially as it does contradict Peter Weyland's TED speech which is much much closer to Canon if not dead on. I only placed it here to show those interested in a Tyrell-Weyland connection. This is about the only piece of data other than possible passing comments by RS in interviews. Sometimes its better to not connect all the dots. Blade runner and Alien work best in my opinion as separate story lines and separate universes.
