Would you like Prometheus 2 to be more about the Xenomorph origins, or just stay it's own story?

Have some answers to LV 223, mainly just what was its purpose, was it always a Weapons Facility or did it have some other purpose.
Maybe we will not find out where the Xenos came from? Prometheus tried to show that in that universe, Mankind came from them.... Maybe we will not be shown how the Xenos came to be... Just how the Engineers came to find them and use them.
The Star Beast Script seemed to imply the Engineers did not create them but they was something they found.

I'd prefer it to not rweally be baout the xenos. More the story of the engineers past and their culture and also the tension bewtween Shaw and David. I woulnd't be opposed to learning or seeing more the xeno or deacon or whatever they do with creatures in the sequel(s?), but I definitely think that the story should stick to the enigneers and thier story
Not a map, an invitation
Ooooh. Yes please.
I love Prometheus, but could do for more Xeno-ness next time around.
For me obviously the Engineers and their origin and civilization I like the xenos but like Ridley said their old and worn out like a thin piece of cloth. They ever scared me at all even when I was little they're just angry animals with a survival complex. Space Jockey Engineers are my favorite aliens along side with Predator and the new Deacon! :)
The Anunnaki were on the earth in those days--and also afterward--when the sons of God went to the daughters of humans and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, mighty men of high reno
HeLL yes! Deacon for ever. All day, over and over.
I can only assume (and hope) that we will be seeing the fully matured version. Given that what we saw was merely the 'larval' or infant stage, I expect it may be quite a huge and terrifying creature!
I dont think the movie is going to show us we come from Xenos, the movie shows we come from Engineers but i dont think it shows that the Xeno Origins come from Engineers.
Only as far as how Xenos come from Humans in Aliens, i.e as a Host.
I would think the Engineers came across the Xeno, just as Mankind did in Alien, and just like how Weyland Yutani was then interested in the capture, use and experments with the Xeno Life Form, for Military and Genetic Research, i think the Engineers or Elders did like wise.
Only they had more sucsess to some degree of obtaining and experimenting with the lifeform but ultimately paid the price for trying to manipulate and use the Xeno for their Own Agenda and they got burnt for playing with fire. Not only once but many times inc latest attempt to Re-Weaponize the Organism. on LV 223.
I would think they harvested some of the Xenos Genetics to use for Bio-Tech and Construction, just as Mankind is now trying to Harvest Silk from Spiders in order to make construction materials that are light, flexible and strong. And Science has made massive leaps in this field.
I Feel our Engineers conduct similar experiments with the Xeno to produce their Bio-Tech.
This answers and fits a lot into the franchise such as why the Elder Engineers scene their ship did not look Bio-Tech like later ones. This is what i think is going on and what i hope to see. But we just dont know yet what route they will take with the connection, orgins of the Xeno to the Engineers.
Maybe true Orgins will remain a mystrey...

I want to know straight up what the xenomorphs are and who made them (or where they come from if they're not engineered). But I really don't want another Alien movie where they spend 2 hours fighting xenos. I guess in a nutshell, I want the xeno origins explained, but I want the bulk of the story to be about the Engineer's civilization, finding out more about our past history with them, and the mystery of what happened to them, etc.
Certainly should show everything in general and follow the directions of the unfinished story mainly explain about the contents of the pitchers on LV-223. it could make it also implicitly understand the Xeno Origin (excuse me for my bad english)
@Bruno
Interesting question! I wonder if the Prometheus mission is able to bend space-time, and if can go back or forward, would be nice to connect with Alien in the best way. Towards to Nostromo mission or (?) PARADISE or LV-426, but with Cameron Xenos in Aliens I've had enough, and I just do not want another Cameron film.
I would hope we dont see any time travel... no thanks as that would leave the franchise to be manipulated in future...
I also hope they dont try and show us that the Xeno evolved from something on LV 223 at the time of Prometheus.... rather what went down there was a Evolution of the Xeno.
There are a lot of lose ends at the end of Prometheus and before Alien, these have to be answered and cleared up....
1) Surely the Company would want to find out what happened to Prometheus, and at the time of Alien they had some idea of what they was dealing with. They had detected the Derelict Signal, yet we have to assume if LV 223 is not far from LV 426 then why did the Nostramo or other missions not be sent to LV 223?
After all LV 426 is Baron, LV 223 has much more riches and if they managed to recieve transmisions from David during the Prometheus mission and indeed surely would have got Shaws SOS if they got the Space Jockeys...
Then why does it seem no one goes back to LV223? i say this because the company in Alien and Aliens are after the Xeno, why if they visited LV 223 there would be much more riches to be had..
And Deacon and Hammepedes lol
2) The Last Engineer was aware his race orginated from Paradise, surely the Engineers, Elders and their creators on Paradise would have known about LV 223?
How much did they know about what was going down on LV 223? did they know about the Xeno and experiments on LV 223? Did they order the command to create a Bio Weapon to use on Earth?
If so then why has no Engineers gone back to LV 223? Surely they would want a update on their status and surely after not hearing nothing for a long while they would also want to investigate. Especially if they wanted and gave the command to send the Juggernaughts down to Earth.
would they not want to find out what happened? And then carry on to finish the job that was started 2000 years ago.
I think these are two main lose ends that Paradise has to answer and it has to most likely end that after Part 3, there is no threat from Paradise as far as Engineers left (maybe David unleashes Hell) and there must be nothing left on LV 223 that can get into the wrong hands.. (surely Shaw would order David to go back to LV 223 to destroy the place).

I think it should be a bit of both. We already had Aien DNA in this movie, so it would feel too werid to drop all references to the Alien entirely. Although, IMO this series will be all about the Engineers and the Androids by the end.
Ridley did say that the Alien was "dead" before Prometheus, "it isn't scary anymore". However, maybe he was being ambiguous and vague, and simply thought the Alien as we know it is dead and not very scary anymore. Its genetics might have been what was really "dead" in the film.
What if the Engineers have secretly given the the Alien DNA a rebirth? (themes of Immortality, destruction and re-creation). Ridley might really be hinting at that the Alien is truly immortal, a god-like scecies (through the Engineers worship/religious themes in the temple/artwork). Whereas other species aren't as adaptable. Ash noted the Alien organism is perfect. Maybe Androids and Engineers both praise/worship Aliens because of their unique genetics.
IMO the Engineers broke the Alien DNA down, and hybridized/re-weaponized the Alien genetics through the black goo. These were new forms of the Alien we haven't seen before. The creatures in Prometheus were re-born Aliens. Accelerating through stages that resembled their evolutioin and their ancestral forms -- but they were following a genetic blueprint that had been altered. The eggs in the original Delerelict are a little older than the Alien DNA in Prometheus. Ridley said the Derelict is from around the time period but happens before, so this DNA isn't what becomes the Alien we know. Where is this parallel DNA going? Could this parallel story be all about Immortality, King genetics, Kings and King David by the end?
Fifield was "dead" and turned into a zombie mind slave by the organisms' influence. The organism was dead, its genetics were dormant within the goo, but we've seen how the goo has to "first destroy to create". It's my belief that Ridley is purposely misleading us and gave the Alien organism a re-birth, because it was dead, and wasn't very scary anymore. A new form of the Alien has been created from the original blueprints.
The Deacon/Ultramorph would turn into something we haven't seen yet: a King Alien, which can come out of the hermaphrditic genetics/DNA under certain circumstances.
Ridley said he was setting out to the scare the sh*t out of us. If the Alien we know isn't scary anymore from his perspective, it might need a re-birth/new additions to the lifecycle ;) Maybe he was only "setting out" to scare us and big things have small beginnings. The "adventure's" only just begun.
Ridley once claimed the original alien was dying, that it was aging rapidly. "A king has its reign and then it dies, its inevitable". David was the perfect son, Weyland didn't want his natural daughter. The med bay was programmed only for males, only for "King" Weyland. Vickers isn't going to be "Queen" of Weyland corp in this series. This series is all about Kings and immortality... A King Alien would be new and different, an oppurtunity for Ridley to continue his original vision with the morphing cycle, while allowing there to be both Queens and Kings. The reason we haven't met a King yet is because usually male leaning Aliens die quickly, or are repressed by the females of the species.
I'm not sure ANY SCREENWRITER can successfully wedge Alien's ancient biomechanical Giger-beasts, egg-hands and Elephantine Gods back into this re-formatted Corporate Army narrative. ... .. . .. .. . .. . ... . .. . . .. .
Dot dot dash.
The Prometheus Franchise how has to (try to) hold its own, without any hardcore Giger influence, imho.
Giger's artworks seems to still be an influence on things. I think things just need to change form a little bit. Sometimes the payoff to things comes in unexpected ways. Sometimes Paradise isn't what we expect, that's what Ridley has hinted at. And sometimes we can get far more than we bargained for. Ridley and Lindelof both talked about how they had long conversations about the possible ways the series could go.
King Aliens might just be one of them ;)
In Prometheus expectations were slightly let down in terms of the Alien presence...The trailers gave us many cues that led some of us to believe certain things..Not only about there being more Aliens, but also about it being the same planet. The mind is a "tricky" thing. Now our expectations of seeing the classic alien creatures, and LV426 are lowered. If our expectations are lowered, it will be that much more sudden, shocking and unexpected when things suddenly start to accelerate, and we see the classic creature, then its final form as a protector to the King/egg morpher (the creature grabbing the egg), and come face to face with the Alien King.
If they hadn't planned for two movies since the very beginning, then I'd be worried. Personally, I'm glad we never got Spaights' version of the script. It would have tied things up too nicely regarding the Alien DNA and the planetoid actually being the same. It would have been too much like a prequel,
When they flipped things around from the Spaights script and made this first movie more about the Engineers and ancient aliens perhaps it strayed from what the original plan for untitled alien prequel 2 was...Then Paradise sorta became prometheus, some ideas changed around, some other stuff changed order, and Ridley had to make this only a small beginning to keep track of some of possible ways it could go that were thrown into the mix and boiled down by the Lindelof version.
Maybe it's not quite like an ink blot test, and Prometheus can be viewed in many ways, with an underlying program that's hidden. Ridley once said his intent was to encourage debate in forums. Hiring Lindelof makes sense to generate mysteries if Ridley does intend to follow up on them but needed somewhere to get from point a to point b in what Ridley wants to do. He definitely has some of his own ideas and say over this, so it's not just the screenwriter planning things. Prometheus is so ambiguous that it can be read in many different ways. You could run with that and build on things in many different ways... A talented screenwriter could do anything they want with it... "Perhaps" David actually can't read the pictograms, because they're pictures and it involves symbolic interpretation and unknowns.
He could only work out the "broad strokes" in some of the data.
Ridley could be thinking many scenes ahead. Many scenes into the past. It could be more about finding a writer that will be able to bring out the full picture and the story Ridley thinks is best to tell. Eggs are still somehow a part of it, but now so is the Deacon. Ridley is only filling pieces of the puzzle so far. The alien organism could cover those walls entirely. Leaving certain blanks on purpose. Giger still has a huge influence that can be seen in this movie. The bio part hasn't merged completely with the mechanical yet.
Well, i don't wanna see anymore lame creature designs like the Trillobyte and deacon! And i don't think that the Giger Alien, Bio-mechanoids will be making an appearance. So, just keep it about the engineers i say.
The poster was good though!
HiveMinded,
wow, I'm really surprised you DIDN'T want to see the 'totally alien world' of the original enormous Elephantine Space Trucker and the vast hand-egg cargo, the why it was there, the 'did it crashland or was it parked' and why was the imagery so bipedal or Humanoid when it could have been/should have been more Cthulhu than all of this?
I have stated this before but I WELCOME/ENCOURAGE a total reboot of the Planned Alien Prequel, call it XENO and have it done with. I want answers in a sex-and-gore-filled Giger-stylee, not some episodes of Stargate or Chariots of the f***ing Gods I've already watched on TV. It has to be human-oiled because all Giger's Biomechanoid has a Human Root. So, let's see it. Alternate universe it, don't alternate history it.
My continued prediction: Prometheus pulls its finger out, and gets on with its own story i.e. REBOOT OF ALIEN FRANCHISE, as it was always planned.
Custodian; I usually agree with your comments, but, the word "REBOOT" does something, not very nice to my spirit! It basically fills me with dread when it is attached to films that i love! So, PLEASE NO REBOOT!!! ALIEN is perfect as it is!!!
The poster was good though!
I have to agree . I am against a franchise reboot.
HOWEVER
If ridley/fox intends to only include a1 (and perhaps a2) in the engineer universe then if this is considered a reboot where only a1 (a1 directors cut) would tie in with the engineer story then that would be ok as a reboot of sorts to tell the story of the sj his people and his cargo (cargo = xeno purpose and origins) .
If this could be done then I don't care if we see another xeno. I omly need to know exactly how p1 ties in with a1. Because sj were never explored and where the xenos came from never . If they tell us subtly where the xeno engineers met I would be happy. And also the engineer origins - why are they staying the same after molloons of years - what binds them to stay the same ??
@oduodu
Yes good points, i think one thing people are looking into is the Alien Connection... i think Ridley has done it, well as much as he wants and we may see some more Alien connection latter in a final part but the idea is to steer away from Alien and by that i think he means the Egg Cargo and the Xeno.
You see lets take a look at Alien like this..... Alien and Prometheus are joined in the Middle, they are connected... Alien then branches off to explore the Xeno and the Eggs and its Life Cycle and continues from Aliens onwards...
After Alien the Space Jockey is a Mystrey and it never touched upon again...
Prometheus Franchise i think will do the opposite, what we have in Prometheus is more exploring the Space Jockey Race, and leaving the xeno as Mystrey.
We will be left with this...
Part 3<-- Paradise<-- Prometheus + Alien -->Aliens -->Alien 3 -->Alien R
Alien and Prometheus connected...
Alien mainly about the Organism that comes from the Egg the Xeno, and each movie after more about the Xeno and no longer about the Derelict or Space Jockey.. The Space Jockey and Derelict in Alien was covered vaguely there was enough clues to make some connection to Xeno and Pilot and Ship but kept minimal and a Mystrey.
Therefore as Prometheus shows us more about the Ship and Pilot, well explains what Race is behind that and the purpose of the ships, it goes on to show us more detail that these Space Jockeys and Engineers are related and had a hand in our creation. The movie goes on to give us some detail about them, but not massive detail. Just as Alien gave us some detail of the Xeno but kept some mystrey about it.
Prometheus had vague connection with the Xeno, the movie was not meant to show us Xenos just some clues and connection...
I therefore think as Alien Franchise explored the Xeno more with each movie and left behind who the Pilot and Derelict was. I think Prometheus will leave behind the Xeno and explore the Pilots race and Derelict/Juggernaughts more.
Yes we could get some explanation of the Xeno Orgins down the line, and maybe in a Alien 5 movie that would show us the Xeno homeworld and where it came from, maybe Alien Alpha would be a good name?
I am not sure we would get the answers we want from Prometheus franchise and those who want to see on screen the Space Jockey and see the Derelict loaded with its Cargo or what ever those Eggs came from. Then see the Space Jockey enter the ship and take to his Pilot Chair... And show us at some point he gets infected with the Cargo then Chest Busts and Crash Lands...
Well i dont think we will ever see that scene NEVER!
But do we need to?
