Alien: Covenant
Jem587 Trolling is good. Trolling is fun lol
@ Joylitt. Not cannon fodder. In ancient military history it was about duty and honour. It is not about denying homosexuality either. Greek military looked at a way of making homosexuality a force to be reckoned with. It looked at the positive aspects rather than deny it through bigoted eyes as a negative in society.
Jem587 All the more reason for Chris to do a troll review- and to really troll everyone, shut down the forum until 20 May. THAT would be a memorable troll!
@dk No I need answers about Alien: Covenant ASAP!! I can't wait any longer!!!! WE WERE WRONG! SO WRONG!
Batchpool I know, and when you weigh on the fact that the Engineers look like living greek sculptures and that apparently even their ladies look like dudes :-)
I have read and heard many negative and upsetting comments made at this point in the film. Here is one comment made by a right wing person online,
That movie already drove me away with it's pc leftard bullshit, by having a gay couple additionally to the straight couples in the crew. Because... well... just because. They chose couples to colonise that new planet. So what is that gay couple going to do? Yeah, that's gonna help! Why not having a transgender man or woman in there where we're at it? Or a 67th wave muslim feminist (hey, it's the future!) that hates men? I mean that movie (like most movies) will have its fair share of bullshit that doesn't make sense on the second look. But this nonsense is done on purpose, right in your face, just because of some idiotic agenda and therefore completely avoidable!
As an atheist, left wing, LGBT person myself I do not agree with such hate filled views. I think discussions about life as a whole can lead us to a more open mind regarding sexuality. I am not sure if the debate falls into religion vs science, homosexuality exists and therefore is part of nature, and the religious rhetoric intertwined in all social fabric that condemns it...These films actually make us think about our beliefs and about existence on the planet and in the universe and I appreciate Ridley for that. The franchise has seen many similar points touched, like those of a female hero, female empowerment etc, as opposed to childbearing, cleaning, and wanting someone to rescue them, look at Daniels, Ripley..and even David seems sexually ambiguous too, I also like seeing black characters have a presence like we saw on the Nostromo, Prometheus, Aliens 2 and three.
Don't worry- Chris is too nice. Believe me I have tried to talk him into some April Fool Day stunts and he wouldn't do it!
AaronStar That's a big reason why I like Star Trek so much- especially TOS. They tackled issues like that without being preachy back in a pretty turbulent time (at least in the States). And those shows still hold up today imo. Back then it was more about race/politics than sexuality per se.
AaronStar Whats the use of even considering an opinion like that. It is so sad that something inherently good like religion can be perverted by crazy people. Last night I was watching this documentary and some lady from the 60's is heard saying “God forgives murder and he forgives adultery. But he is actually very angry and curses all those who integrate.” It bogged my mind
joylitt lol
@AaronStar We welcome you LGBT fellow Alien: Covenant fan!!! I was wondering if there were others on this forum.
Jem587 Dude, are you doing some type of profiling here? Let me tell you, if you are from The Company and want to have people subject to some crazy genetic experiment like creating a new breed of Neo-Homo or Lesbo-Xeno or something, don't count with me
Hmmm. TH OP welcomed a specific demographic and may be interpreted as exclusive. Tough to say.
I just hope Chris has a truly wonderful time!!
I am looking fwd to his reviews, but mainly I care more about his experience being good as it's a pretty Major thing for a Forum Admin to be Invited to such a Premiere. :)
IN SPACE THERE IS NO WARNING
Jem587 haha I'm just pulling your leg
