Mouthburster grusome death! Spoiler Alert!
AaronStar
MemberFacehuggerMay-03-2017 7:24 PMAfter seeing Ferris burning as she crawls out, one hears a howling, a cringe worthy howling of pain from a crew. It seems the mouth bursters induce even more pain than the backbursters, as this crew member is heard screaming in pain like an injured wolf...

MemberFacehuggerMay-03-2017 7:35 PMI guess there are people here who have not seen this yet, not me, but since you are not new to these kind of boards on various accounts, at least give a spoiler warning.

MemberTrilobiteMay-03-2017 7:41 PMI.F. is correct. We can talk about this but some are trying to avoid spoilerish content and still want to be on the forum.

MemberFacehuggerMay-03-2017 7:57 PMi bet the only reason for this thread was to deliver this pun :D
on the other hand, how would a virgin in his mid 40s know of such things oO

MemberPraetorianMay-03-2017 8:06 PMFifield, you'll never change. :D
It's time to give you a ecapS.Monkey...

MemberFacehuggerMay-03-2017 8:09 PMwhy are you assisting the obvious troll and spoiler spreader now, Ati? one of your mates on these multi accounts?maybe even yours?
Ati
MemberPraetorianMay-03-2017 8:13 PMYou are not so original. It seems you like copying S.M's comments:
'People who dont agree with every far-fetched and nonsense theory others come up with repeatedly (and write them down like probable facts with a questionmark at the end of the sentence, because thats just what they personally hope to get in the movie) are considered trolls around here by the absolutely not naive enablers of these habits.' - by Fifi
Where did you leave your grammar mistakes? Or are you S.M?
The troll is shouting: troll!

others might not be able to follow your 'special' way of thinking in your own world.

MemberPraetorianMay-03-2017 8:34 PMJust another day in Paradise. :)
Kidding aside, I'm curious if this guy manages to survive...it is possible (though really unlikely).

MemberPraetorianMay-03-2017 8:36 PM'Remember what the therapist once told you;' --- Armina Fifi, there are some members here who mentioned that this sentence had been told you at the Institute.
A new space monkey just for you:
dk
MemberTrilobiteMay-03-2017 8:37 PMHe could be heard gurgling after the fact but the oesophagus and trachea aren't wide or soft enough to accommodate that burster. Even then, there would be massive aspiration back into the lungs and general game overness.
Inquisitor Fifield
MemberFacehuggerMay-03-2017 8:40 PMi cant even argue with that anymore out of mere conscience reasons.
=)
have any more monkeys up the sleeve, since posting those seems to be able to bring a little joy into your life?

MemberPraetorianMay-03-2017 8:44 PMFifield, try to hide the 'mental' expressions which serve as items of proof that my statements are true. :)
I know you like space monkeys, so yes, I have:

MemberFacehuggerMay-03-2017 9:40 PMThe backburster was able to break glass with its head just minutes after being born and clawed away at Oram's wife's face badly...these things are angry, tough critters, I would imagine it broke bones, stretched muscles apart and sliced through vital tissue and arteries, clearly visible is his broken expanded jaw...he may have had a ruptured aorta which is fatal. I wonder if he ate something from the habitat, did he taste the wheat or was it just inhaled spores...the issue is that the pathogen goes on another level when mixed with reproctîve cells like those in plants, even worse if that mix of pathogen and creative cell mix with a living host, end result the alien, David has just found out that mural mystery, that creature the Engineers feared and revered....

MemberPraetorianMay-03-2017 11:40 PMWell, just because I wanted a professional's take on such, my Dr. is also a long time friend, anda fan of the franchise so I sent her the pics and asked her what she thought...
Well, you guys all together with your respective posts pretty much called it dead-on. Her take is that it IS possible he could survive such, and she cited some truly astounding examples of people surviving catastrophic situations and injuries, but his odds are at best 3%, and then ONLY if an ER or equivalent was immediately available as well as IMMEDIATE traume suppurt, which he didn't get, and as the lander got blown up, there goes any chance of an ER.
She also stated that given even a rough idea of the internal damage, he would not WANT to survive.
So, you guys, I applaud your intelligence and insightfulness in calling his prognosis so very accurately!!
Are any of you health professionals??

MemberTrilobiteMay-04-2017 12:07 AMBWW- Compare the size of the trachea and oesophagus to that mouth burster and the general trauma. It is true that some amazing cases are well documented of overcoming odds, but the mouth burster- no way- the airway is wrecked. No airway, no life- gotta have oxygenated blood to the brain at a minimum. I am in that line of work.

MemberPraetorianMay-04-2017 1:32 AMI'm not arguing, looked up anatomy and well...yeah...there's no way to save him. Are you an EMT? Physician?
Man, being in the Health Sciences field would give one a real depth in seeing these scenes...I envy you!! In the good way! :)

MemberFacehuggerMay-04-2017 2:55 AMYeah...Even if for some reason he had the muscle elasticity in his esophagus to vomit or swallow an equivalent to a 40, it would pretty much destroy the cartilage surrounding his trachea and the upper and lower esophageal sphincters.
Even then, he would immediately need to be intubated to keep Oxygen flowing. Of course, you also have the blood filling up the lungs and what ever physical trauma the limb stubs created on their way out.
To put it in terms of the "deep throat" comment above -
It would be like reverse deep throating a champaign bottle, bottom first with a towel tied around it.

OUCH...yeah, that gives a pretty solid idea to work from regarding what happened to that guy!!
