MemberOvomorphMay-19-2017 7:15 PMOK so David had to cut his hair to be more like his "twin."
They show him cutting his hair in broad hacks.
Before you know it, his hair is neatly cut just like Walter's.
How'd he do that? Oh OK, more suspension of disbelief required ;)

Dr. Curt Connors
MemberChestbursterMay-19-2017 7:19 PMHahahaha, somebody has made mention of this can't remember who. Why is his hair growing in the first place? He's an android, was he cutting his hair all that time on the Prometheus, haha.

Dr. Curt Connors
MemberChestbursterMay-19-2017 7:21 PMThere's so much wrong with this movie, it's like Batman vs. Superman but the sci-fi/horror version. And some people will defend it until the end of time and some will come to their senses eventually.

splatterpunk
MemberFacehuggerMay-19-2017 7:22 PMIt's a movie dude. Seriously... Do you ever enjoy anything or do you pick at nonsense that no one actually cares about? He's an android that can do just about anything. Remember in Prometheus he spent all that time styling his hair? I can't believe you actually posted this. I firmly believe you hate the movie so much for some reason that you will pick at absolutely anything. Do you think in the grand scheme of things we really want to see a scene that is explaining this?
werent you happy with what the five minutes we endured in Prometheus when he meticulously styled his hair? But yet again in covenant we got another hair scene... Sigh. Perhaps they should of spent another ten minutes on his hair to explain everything while throwing out other more important things... smh.

MemberOvomorphMay-19-2017 7:23 PMAnd here's the guy who says he doesn't care about anyone in films and just likes seeing the death count rise. Thanks for your input lol

MemberFacehuggerMay-19-2017 7:23 PM@dr. You bring up some points but this one is a little much. Honestly...

splatterpunk
MemberFacehuggerMay-19-2017 7:25 PMOcean did you answer that question I asked you about the air lock? Probably not. Here we go folks if it was up to ocean we would have a half n hour haircut scene that no one cares about. I don't know it was fun for awhile but now it's getting into troll territory.

MemberFacehuggerMay-19-2017 7:26 PMI think there would have been a bigger problem if Walter had turned up with a head full of flowing locks like Repunzel. Last time I looked, the local fashion scene was’nt noted for its extensive range in hair extensions. :)

MemberOvomorphMay-19-2017 7:26 PMBe glad to answer if I had seen the question.
Meanwhile what do you think of all the reviews which mention the same thing I did...zero compassion for the crew which no one got a chance to know? Seen at least five reviews mention this.

splatterpunk
MemberFacehuggerMay-19-2017 7:27 PMDon't care honestly. Prometheus was worse. Covenant was what a 2 hr movie or so? You can only do so much or maybe we can have days of our lives in space. Or better yet a five hour movie...

Dr. Curt Connors
MemberChestbursterMay-19-2017 7:29 PM@splatterpunk Sorry man. it's just too easy. Stuff is about as bad as the Martha scene in POS, I mean BvS, haha. There is some good things it's just most of the movie to me after a certain point becomes comical. I wasn't laughing in the theater cause I was pissed. But if I ever watch it again, and that's a big if, I will laugh my ass off. It took me about 5 years to watch Prometheus again, I watched it a couple months or so before Covenant and it's still as bad as the first time.

MemberOvomorphMay-19-2017 7:31 PM@splatterpunk ....You care so much you are like the resident ALIEN guard dog up here, barking at any criticism of the film...give it a rest, some people enjoy their films with a bit more thought behind all the action.
Now what's that air lock question again?

splatterpunk
MemberFacehuggerMay-19-2017 7:35 PM@dr. I had my issues with Prometheus as well. I do get what you guys are saying about the meatbags crew. When I write my horror work I tend to focus it around a smaller core group of characters. I am able to develope them and give them personality quirks. I have expandendable characters from time to time to serve a purpose but mainly I keep my works with smaller groups. The film had 15 members. You really are going to have a hard time under time constraints to make them all likable. You can give them ticks or small personality traits to help. Print is different than film though.

MemberOvomorphMay-19-2017 7:38 PMALIENS characters were so well done it was a drag when even Ferro got killed, and she had like 5 lines maybe in the film. That's how well cast, acted and written it was.
Yes too many on the crew to do that in this case, you're correct, but certainly more could have stood out. There is no reason to even cast Franco the way this film was released, probably he had a bigger role but it was cut.

splatterpunk
MemberFacehuggerMay-19-2017 7:39 PMOkay ocean. You said got to think of something besides airlock disposal of the alien. So how would you do it. Remember you are in space and guns could damage your ship. So how would you do it. Remember you can't just add something out of the blue. That final scene was setup early in the film. Go ahead?
oh by the way the same could be said about you and your negativity by the way...

Dr. Curt Connors
MemberChestbursterMay-19-2017 7:39 PM@splatterpunk Yeah that is true. I was hoping Covenant was gonna be at least 2 and a half hours long. I could tell by the trailers there was gonna be a lot to get across and they just rushed it. Believe me man I wish I liked this movie, I was pumped going in I was just so disappointed and let down.

splatterpunk
MemberFacehuggerMay-19-2017 7:41 PMThat's fine dr. You don't have to apologize. I liked it you didn't no big deal. I didn't like Prometheus and other people did. It's no big deal.

I'm not the writer and don't get paid for being brilliant, they do.
I'm certain with the kind of imagination shown elsewhere in ALL of Scott's films, they could have come up with something.

MemberChestbursterMay-19-2017 7:42 PMCome on, guys. Don't get in each others hair over an androids hair. .... uhm... Nevermind... XD

MemberFacehuggerMay-19-2017 7:47 PMAs far as Franco goes, cameo who cares. He was in the movie with a small role. In gotg Stallone was in a cameo. It happens no one cares. Then ask why cast Stallone. It's fun. Why cast this guy why do that? As a matter of fact gotg had a ton of cameos. Alien covenant had a cameo
stop the presses.

MemberOvomorphMay-19-2017 7:47 PMI will say one thing.
It's been about 24 hours now since I saw the film, and it is not leaving my conscious, to the point where I think I may have to see it again. There were enough great moments that it is a bit hard to get out of the system, mine anyway.
I'll feel a LOT better if the next film is somehow called "The Awakening" and at least partially refers to Daniels and McBride waking again...

splatterpunk
MemberFacehuggerMay-19-2017 7:49 PMI did hear that awakening was the prequel to covenant. It's the web so who knows what is true about that right now except the people working on it.

oceantracks
MemberOvomorphMay-19-2017 7:49 PMIt was clarified later that Scott simply spoke out of turn when listing the films. It will be a sequel, not prequel, to Covenant.

Tom
MemberFacehuggerMay-19-2017 7:50 PMThere were lots of plot holes or whatever in A:C, but I'm pretty sure their hair just actually grows, and so it needs to be cut.
He can speak every known language and sink 3 pointers while riding a bicycle, so I'd assume he could probably manage a pretty nice self haircut hah.

Tiwaz
MemberChestbursterMay-19-2017 7:52 PMAwakening is the sequel to A:C. Alan Dean Foster's novel Origin will be the prequel.

MemberFacehuggerMay-19-2017 7:57 PM@ Tom that's what I was saying but didn't say it. We went through all that in Prometheus.
