Now the prequels are heading towards the original movie,it will look dated so will Ridley remake it or somehow update the original?maybe the tech wizards could digitally remaster it and delete and add scenes that date it i.e;old TV monitors, switches, weapons etc;but seamlessly?the original alien creatures still cut it so they're ok.the cast is great (shame we've lost Harry Dean Stanton recently and Bill Paxton-aliens R I P)whatever happens it's all gona be fantastic-thanks Ridley and crew

Well, that will be something. But sadly (or happily to some) Disney owns Alien, and everything Alien. They only do pg-13, which is foreign to the Alien franchise.

They may remake it, but whats Alien without the blood and guts and Ellen standing in the Narcissus, kinda naked, ready to fight the alien?

Personally, I think if Alien is remade by Disney, It will suck.

Just take a look at Star Wars.

Not sure we will see a remake in ohhh the next 3 decades or so. Almost every big hit will probably be remade, but this movie still has enough in it to warrant sequels'reboots over a remake. If it did happen, I would assume Ridley Scott would only be a producer at most.

The Quadrilogy should be left alone. Carry on but leave the originals intact.

I dont think any re-work should be done to them, maybe they could CGI some Xenomorph Scenes to add some polish but to make the Technology that was from stuff we had around the 70's  (VDU displays) would be too much work and could have a negative impact.

I think the same applies to the others too.... any poor effects/CGI could maybe get improved like they did with Star Wars, but in general i think they should be left as they was.

the original film will never look dated. its the best of the lot visually, story and character wise imo. hell, even the guy in a rubber suit monster looked better than anything theyv done since with cgi. nearly 40 years old and still a masterclass and will be in another 40 years. films like alien, predator, blade runner, lost boys etc r films that should never be remade
