According to your opinions, what happened to him?

AdminPraetorianJul-14-2018 7:08 AMI think he meant he was molested as a child, that's what I understood anyways.

AdminEngineerJul-14-2018 7:52 AMTrue, could be! I wasn't sure what he meant by that either.

MemberDeaconJul-14-2018 2:12 PMIt can possibly mean that he had been subjected to another Encounter Before by a Wicked Person or inflicted with a Wicket/Cruel Deed/Action.
And so being Molested could fit, but so could other kinds of abuse/torture perhaps... Its a Interesting Quote, one that maybe Symbolizes that ORAM had been through such a Ordeal before that was on par or close to being attacked by a Alien Organism and he SURVIVED. That all changed once the Chest Bursting Commenced.
It could also be that maybe he KNEW he would be dying and that through his Religion he has a Understanding of the Devil and his Works/Deeds and that this underhanded Tactic/Trick that the Devilish David had performed on him... Holds NO Fear for Oram as his Faith would save him. (Afterlife)

MemberNeomorphJul-15-2018 3:19 AMOram was an interesting character, they should have had more of him. I liked the religious angle but that he was trying to go a practical route even though things got messed up. Unfortunately once he died the movie got worse.
To me it could be that he was a member of a church. Maybe his parents were religious too so he got a religious upbringing but was abused by a priest or another religious leader. It could also be that he was bullied by someone or more persons either in school or in some other place.
It seems that there are many possible answers but it can be interesting to speculate.

MemberPraetorianJul-16-2018 3:58 PMThere's an extended scene where Oram, appearing forlorn & wrapped in a blanket, is looking at a photograph of an elderly man, with what looks like a church in the background. I looked like a man of the cloth, possibly a relative/grandfather who had abused him as a child?
That's how I read it anyway.

MemberDeaconJul-17-2018 9:40 AMI certainly feel Oram was a interesting Character and i had said before that it would have been ideal IF Oram was recovered by WALTER after the Fight with DAVID and brought back to the Ship.
Have a Scene where Oram is talking to Walter and Daniels in Protest at being placed into Cryo-Sleep, and have Walter suggest that Oram gets rest and he will check on him after and Perform a Medical Examination.
I think there was more room for more Dialog and Scenes with Oram, where then he gets CHEST BUSTED on the Covenant and we devote more time to the Xenomorph on the Covenant.
But such a Change MAY potentially and depend on Dialog thats added between Walter and Oram, but it could lead the Audience to Realize that Walter was IN FACT David but i dont think by the time David tucked Daniels in, that most people was SHOCKED that it was David. I think the scenes of him looking on the Monitor watching the Xenomorph would have gave it away prior....
so its a Shame we never had a Extra 40 Minutes to play with, where Oram could have more Dialog with David and Daniels, and Bring the Xenomorph Event to the Covenant as only ONE Xenomorph... the whole Chase Scene to the Lander could have been replaced with a Neomorph.
