MemberOvomorphNov-19-2019 4:31 AMHello, this is the original Spinosaurus Rex from 5+ years ago (I really can’t believe it’s been that long). I’ve made a couple of visits here from time to time to see how things may have changed or if anybody from my time may still here. I miss our shinanigans and conversations, though they did tend to get out of hand from time to time lol. Nevertheless, I’m just curious to see how many new members there have been (here on the JP forums) since I’ve been away and of course, anybody who was here at the time I was. I’m free to talk about anything Jurassic Park/ Dinosaur related as I’ve got a couple years of college in geology under my belt, that and feel the need to express my disdain for where JW is headed lol. Anyways, I’d much enjoy to see some replies!

If people weren't lazy, we wouldn't try to be efficient. If we weren't efficient, we'd never get anything done.

MemberOvomorphNov-19-2019 8:35 AMI did make quite a name for myself back then, I imagine that’s how you already know me lol. I’ve recently went through the archives and read some of the discussions I had made/ commented on and I must say, in many cases I am utterly mortified lmao
TheLazyFish
MemberNeomorphNov-19-2019 9:05 AMYeah, I imagine its like cringing at a past memory at night except you have an entire archive of it? XD
Yeah, I spent a couple months reading through the archives trying to find some certain events, but I never was able to find them.
Anyways, glad to have you back!

MemberOvomorphNov-19-2019 9:12 AMThe best way to do it is to go directly to the last page on the 67 or so page directory tabs.
To get to all that jazz, you need to go to that tab at the top of the screen that has the 3x3 squares next to the home tab, then tap on forums. After that, scroll down till you find the Jurassic Park/World forums and tap dinosaur discussions and you’re there.
Thank you for the welcome back and I’m pleased to meet you!
TheLazyFish
MemberNeomorphNov-19-2019 9:16 AMI know how to read through that, I kinda spent two months reading through it to find the event with no such luck. A search function would be really helpful.
Pleased to meet you as well!

MemberOvomorphNov-19-2019 9:21 AMI just found the event about a couple hours ago lol. Unfortunately, I forget the name and page, BUT I know it’s between page 35-38.
You’ll know it when you see it, it’s the one with over 200 replies. Also, if you see the reply count above like 30 on any discussion before 2015, you’ll know shit went down lol.
TheLazyFish
MemberNeomorphNov-19-2019 9:22 AMAre you talking about the Carcharodontosaurus V.S. Tyrannosaurus one? Was that the event I was looking for and I didn't realize it?

MemberOvomorphNov-19-2019 9:25 AMI honestly can’t tell you, it sounds like it could be but I’m not certain. Give me a couple minutes and I’ll tell you exactly which one.

MemberOvomorphNov-19-2019 9:42 AMThe thread is called “Top 10 Largest Theropods - Update” by Gigadino with 237 replies and it’s on page 23.

MemberOvomorphNov-19-2019 10:12 AMHahahaha, that last url you listed was my very first post on Scified. Like DAAAAAAMN I was a loose cannon lolololol. It’s hard to even fathom that at that time, there wasn’t any talk of a new installment for JP and it was still referred to as Jurassic Park 4.

MemberChestbursterNov-19-2019 11:10 AMHello, S-Rex. Nice to meet you. I can't recall if we've met before, though.
S-Rex
MemberOvomorphNov-19-2019 11:13 AMI don’t believe we have before either, like I said, I haven’t been around much at all for 5 years or so lol. However, I’m pleased to meet you as well!

MemberNeomorphNov-19-2019 11:13 AMThanks for the help, Spinosaurus Rex!

MemberOvomorphNov-19-2019 11:21 AMYou’re welcome, Broski! Btw, are you guys also experiencing a problem when trying to go from page to page on topics with more than one page of replies?
I also have the same problem with the multiple pages of topics and I have to always work my way backwards from the last page. Topics with more than 4 pages of replies I can’t even go through all the replies.

MemberPraetorianNov-19-2019 11:28 AMI remember you, your that guy that hated Tyrannosaurus rex and wanted to give its name to Spinosaurus aegyptiacus.
S-Rex
MemberOvomorphNov-19-2019 11:46 AMI didn’t per say HATE it, I’ve just always had the opinion that it’s overly portrayed and that it’s unfair to continually shed light over it on account of new information found everyday on new and less understood dinosaurs. However, yes, I did have a bias against it in that respect XD.
TheLazyFish
MemberNeomorphNov-19-2019 12:17 PMYeah, I think it's a bit over-loved too, and not the most interesting Tyrannosaur in my opinion. Still a cool creature, as any creature is, and is still pretty awesome.
If people weren't lazy, we wouldn't try to be efficient. If we weren't efficient, we'd never get anything done.
S-Rex
MemberOvomorphNov-19-2019 12:23 PMVery much agreed, I’d nonetheless tremble in excitement if I saw one in real life. My favorite tyrannosaur has always been Daspletosaurus, even since I was a kid.
TheLazyFish
MemberNeomorphNov-19-2019 12:45 PMAs far as Tyrannosaurids, its probably Tarbosaurus or Albertosaurus, after them Lythronax, Nanuqtyrannus, Zhuchengtyrannus, Daspletosaurus, and Teratophoneus (no particular order). As far as TyrannosaurOIDS, it gets a bit tough lol

MemberPraetorianNov-19-2019 12:50 PMWell I love all Tyrannosauroids and I love all dinosaurs
S-Rex
MemberOvomorphNov-19-2019 12:53 PMTbh, I like almost all of the Chinese Tyrannosaurs, Tarbosaurus and Zhuchengtyrannus most notably. I never was too big on Yutyrannus or Lythronax, however. Yutyrannus is considerable on account of its proof of feathers.
TheLazyFish
MemberNeomorphNov-19-2019 12:56 PMXenotaris
So do I, but I do have some favorites among them lol
S-Rex
Yeah, the Chinese Tyrannosaurs are really cool! But Dryptosaurus is probably my favorite non-Tyrannosaurid Tyrannosauroid and I don't think there was anything like it in China at the time, because it's such a primitive form.
If people weren't lazy, we wouldn't try to be efficient. If we weren't efficient, we'd never get anything done.
S-Rex
MemberOvomorphNov-19-2019 1:17 PMThe respect I have for Dryptosaurus coincides with the respect I have for dinosaurs such as Megalosaurus. Dryptosaurus was one of the first carnivorous dinosaurs ever discovered, in fact among the first theropods.
That’s why I love Megalosaurus so much, it’s what opened a new frontier of science and discovery due to being the first dinosaur ever unearthed.
Xenotaris
MemberPraetorianNov-19-2019 1:36 PMwell my favorite dinosaur is the dilophosaurus
S-Rex
MemberOvomorphNov-19-2019 1:40 PMGiven you’re signature photo, I can definitely see that lol. I’ve always liked Dilophosaurus too and I’m disappointed with the JP series for not portraying them as their true size like in the book.
MinecraftDinoKaiju
MemberChestbursterNov-19-2019 1:50 PMYeah, and I bet the fact that they cancelled the only project where that was going to be the case doesn't help either, does it?
It's so frustrating and disappointing.
S-Rex
MemberOvomorphNov-19-2019 1:55 PMI mean they still have a chance to shoehorn it in there (if they’d actually listen to the fanbase). Technically, the first JP did kind of hint at it with Nedry when he came across the one Dilo and said “I thought you were one of your big brothers, you’re not so bad.”
Naturally, he could have been referring to the other larger species of the park. However, it’s a perfect set up for bringing in a full sized Dilo.
MinecraftDinoKaiju
MemberChestbursterNov-19-2019 1:57 PMI meant with the whole "showing Dilophosaurus was bigger than was shown in the first movie" concept. The only project that was going to show the real-life size of the Dilophosaurus got cancelled, and that that really sucks.
See what I mean?
