Lone:
“Ridley really needs to finish the story, whether it be good, bad or indifferent.”
Even if that means that we get another Alien Covenant or even worse Alien R? I would not mind another if they improve the quality but if it will be the same or worse then I am not very pro that. Having another movie just for the sake of it is nothing that I support, I prefer quality over quantity.
In general I got to say that Fox never understood what the criticism of Prometheus was about. Not having the Xeno in it was far from what the criticism of Prometheus was about so I don’t know whee they got that from.
The bull-alien looks sort of strange but I like the other one. Maybe it is that a bull looks less alien (no pun intended) and that is is more clumsy while a Xenos is more agile or maybe it is because of how the horns look but anyways it is cool that they try. I like how the teeth look at the bull-alien, it reminds me a bit of a more evil version of the joker, maybe because they are a bit more red. (That is dark-red. No?)
A world where they collect toilet paper that they paint in different colors and where perverted reptiles dance to disco music dressed as unicorns with ears on their butt-cheeks. ;)
To me it seems boring so I kind of make fun of it.
What if he erects statues of himself if he sees himself as a king or something similar? What ever it might be we will probably see a planet that has gotten rid of humans the way they are in their present state. Artificially made humans? It is nothing that I would like to see in a movie if it will be about David, yuck.
Personally I think that the dislike is very justified, he is an asshole, and he gets most of the screen-time. Combine this with human characters that are poorly written and you get a movie that is made for a dislike of the android and a dislike for the movie in general even though some parts are OK.
I don’t want a movie about David, that is not why I watch these. Go back and see what made let’s say 85, Clemens, Vasques, Ripley, and so on work and try to develop it from there without copying it. Right now there is no one to support, not a single character. Maybe they want us to care about David but he is like a Goebbels so forget that. Alien Covenant made him worse compared to Prometheus. Not a single damn given from me about what kind of world that he wants to make.
Sure it would have been nice to see more Giger stuff in Covenant but that was far from my biggest complaint about it. I got to say that I was not very impressed with the Engineer planet.
“So its possible David could take the Planets Life, and try to Create his OWN from it, or Evolve it..... so we could see him PLAY that Dr. Moreau all over again... “
Maybe, but I don’t want a movie about that. Not interested, don’t care. Some people might like it, I am just stating my opinion. Having more Giger monsters would be interesting however that would not be enough for me to enjoy it but I understand that we all appreciate different things and have different priorities.
“I would love to see either David play the Dr. Moreau again...” - BD
I understand that we all have our interests when it comes to the franchise but I would say a ten times No at least. Having it about David made the whole situation worse.
“… or if not David then i would like to see him Create some things and then see the Engineers take these and play the HR Giger Dr. Moreau on LV-223.” - BD
That would be better, the Engineers are interesting but David is just crazy. If it would be like that then cut down on the screen-time of David, more Engineers please but they must make sense and be well done.
4 movies? In the prequel series? They will be lucky if they will get to do one more with the mess that they have created this far. If I would be a boss at let’s say Disney and have a franchise that is on shaky ground I would really wonder if I would allow one more. A maximum of one other prequel is what I would allow if we look at the profits and how people have responded to them.
As Leto said it could be a small part of the movie but not what it is about if it would be included at all.
Um yeah, I would prefer more short-movies instead of having it about androids.
So when would we say is his birthday- a specific date and time for our records or a moment for his? Ambiguous, yes, but it invites discussion for the fun of it.
It seems he realized that pretty soon, among the masterpieces displayed in the white room, he was a masterpiece himself.
BigDave There are many good points here, but I would think almost no proper theatrical movies would be made.
It seems the story would have to be done by other means considering all of those plot points listed.
If we are 3 movies away from Alien, we would be about 15 years away from that considering the time between Prometheus and AC. Will RS be around to direct?
I don't think the Alienverse will end anytime soon. Considering current viewing habits and trends, I would think the series will not continue in theaters and actually flourish with books, comics, streaming etc...
Nice tribute to Michael.
The OP begs the question- was David's birthday when his on switch was flipped, or when he realized he would outlive Weyland?
@Chris
I would be very thankful. By the way, at the moment there is one for download.
@BigDave
It seems like. Hopefully another Art Book.
I like this neomorph- it is black but still has the translucent look- somewhat like the Deacon as BigDave mentioned. I never really liked the white neomorph with the disjointed looking carapace.
That was better than last year, really.
You got me, Chris!
Of course they will open, it's a horror.
If it was a safety film we'd see on the door a sign like this:

Unfortunately in this post the Ridley Scott's letter is so compressed that it became unreadable.
You can find it in the forum section, if you follow the links with more coverage of the story that made it to the national tv news, unlike the 6 fan made shorts that won the Alien 40th Anniversary Tongal / Fox competition.
Its hard to say, it depends on If Awakening is the Actual Title and if this has any bearing on the Plot... Saying that the Covenant Title never had much of a connection to the Movie... apart from their Badges had the Cherubium from the Ark of the Covenant.
But then if we are looking at a Tag Line regardless of the Title, it depends what we can Gauge from the Plot/Set-up.
"A Decade has passed since the USCSS Covenant had departed off to Discover their New Eden, the incoming USCSS Exodus is on route to Origae-6 to expand the Colony and arrive at what they believe would be Earth 2.0 but what Fresh Start to Humanity awaits"
The year is 2115 and the Covenant Ship had arrived about 2.5 years prior, the incoming USCSS Exodus is on its away and expect to arrive at a Colony Setting up a New World/Start, they discover some a Colony, Infrastructure, Wooden Buildings, but a No Sign of the Covenant Ship, despite being in Radio Contact.
As they arrive they are greeted by at First Glance appear to be a Colony of Humans, dressed in a Pagan Way, it only on close inspection they discover their is something DIFFERENT with these Humans.
It is when they discover Mankind 2.0 and that this Civilization do-not take too kindly to Humanity 1.0 arriving at this New Paradise and NOT deemed worthy.
Well he certainly thought he could make another 6 Alien Movies.
As far as the Prequels he said we are about 3 away from Alien, some reports had him say 2-3 more movies, others 3-4 more movies.
Unless some of these will be set before ALIEN but go off on a bit a different Tangent, i cant see WHY/HOW we need another 2-3 Movies after Alien Covenant before we arrive at the Back Door of ALIEN.
Lets look at the Situation....
If David is off to Origae-6 this will mean he arrives 10 years before Alien... do we have enough time in 10 years to tell 2-3 more Stories before we get to the Period when the Nostromo is on its way to LV-426?
Otherwise if David goes to LV-223/426 Instead or we have a movie set on the Journey to Origae-6 then we have about 17 years to fit in 2-3 Movies.
I think TWO movies to connect to ALIEN is all thats needed. But i think RS would be looking at other avenues to expand and give us 4-6 Movies.
So that would likely be if only 2-3 would cover what happens to the Covenant, its Crew/Colonist and David, between the year 2105 (End of Alien Covenant) and 2122 (ALIEN) i feel any other plans would maybe cover different things.
This is a Nice Poster.....
I wonder what he means by his comment regarding Titan Publishing? Can we expect some Novel/Book by Titan on Alien Day?
Time will tell ;)
Of course the first thing they will do is open the door!
I enjoy it for what it is and appreciate the effort. Disney and FOX don't seem to be doing much so fans will be creative.
I will find out...
NTFS I say "I space no one can hear you yawn".
What is the first thing you do, when you find a door in a spaceship on which "Do not open!" is written with blood?

What a shame. I cannot download this poster anymore...
Is there still a possibility to get this??
Thanks, but at this point, I want to see Scott Free back Alien- The Play. It couldn't be done in time, but I would hold out for that. Posters are cool enough I suppose but......
That said, what should we expect for a 50th Anniversary?
I missed this one.
And I would want the Advent expanded, even with flashback scenes, to understand what the hell were the Enginners doing
Not sure i am a Fan of those Arms!
Would not mind if this Beast had 4 Arms and One Pair was like that...
However the Neomorph is a Good remake of the Deacon/Xenomorph intended for earlier Prometheus, the Concepts by Carlos Huante of which he had a number of Variants and this Fan-Art seems like a Amalgamation of some of those.
I would so LOVED to had seen this beast in a Prometheus Sequel, especially the Torso/Head as Davids very own Xenomorph.... They made a MASSIVE Mistake giving into what they felt Fans wanted and going the Alien Covenant route.
David could have Created something like this, and then in Dialog he could have given us more clues to the Original Xenomorph, suggesting that the Engineers Discovered that the Human Female Biology is what allowed them to Create their Wolf... But alas it was not PERFECT... but what i have done here is surpassed their accomplishments.
To think a Species like Humans can unlock the Key to such Perfection, i now have my Wolf and thanks to you (incoming Humans) i now have my Lambs too.
This with more clues to HOW David created this Beast, would have given clues to HOW the Xenomorph was created, and also then place the Xenomorph as Ancient!
I think this was similar to the Original Plans... to have David create something Different, but in doing so would show us HOW the Engineers had created the Xenomorph Long Ago!
But ALAS... the decided on a Literal Prequel to make the Xenomorph a Creation after the Prometheus Mission with a Curve-Ball that in Hindsight was maybe the Biggest Mistake they could have made.
BigDave I am equally interested in the origin of the black goo as I am in that of the Space Jockey and the derelict full of eggs (even if until recently I wanted the SJ to remain a mistery).
I think Sir Ridley Scott might have had some plans to explain things since he had in mind 3-4 films after Prometheus.
But unless he started writing his memoirs we might never have a chance to find out what was in his mind.
"I think David knew the Enginners from LV223 were like him,"
I am not 100% sure about that at the Time of Prometheus, but maybe its likely he discovered more after...
I did however notice the Engineer had pity towards David, and a interest but Ultimately had to Destroy him... to me that scene did come across as though maybe the Engineers saw himself in David (so they were similar) or the Engineers had created similar to David with great Consequences.
In Feb 2015 the Source i had, did claim that the Engineers (i assume LV-223) had more in common with David than Humans, which was a odd and interesting statement.
When looking at RS and his comments about the Planet 4 Engineers being the Originals and then when talking in context to the Sequel and AI, and saying Roy Baty and Rachael were AI then i am very much drawn to the LV-223 Engineers being a Genetically Engineered/Enhanced Group Created to Serve those Planet 4 Engineers.
And Certainly.... there was a connection between the Black Goo/LV-223 and the Deacon which had led to the Xenomorph too... Regardless if you look at the Prometheus Route (Ancient) or Alien Covenant Route (Created by David) they both suggest the Xenomorph was a Off-Shoot of the Experiments conducted on LV-223.
BigDave there was talk about de-aging Siggy, why not de-aging Fassy.
Problem comes with de-aging Sir Ridley Scott.
I think regarding the Future of any Movie, a lot depends on not only how much Disney Gauge the Fans Interest but also on if they see it as Financially Viable
Reaction to the Amanda Ripley Animated Shorts was mixed, because they consisted of re-using Cut Scenes and adding a few more that were not quite as smooth as the Cut Scenes from Alien Isolation and i think Fans were expecting something else other than a Video Game Cut Scene series of Shorts.
Reaction to the Live Action Shorts will be interesting...
The options for Disney would be...
*Live Action TV/Streaming which could cost $3-5M per Episode (spending less than $3M could be very limiting). Spending more than $5M would allow for more Special Effects and Well Known Cast.
*Animated CGI TV/Streaming Series which would cost maybe $250k-1M per Episode (depending on the Quality and who they Cast for Voice Overs).
*A Live Action Movie would surely cost $50-100M (even doing it on a Budget would depend on level/amount of Special Effects and who they Cast).
I think Miss Weaver is beating the Drums of War for a ALIEN movie, Cameron also appears to be Championing a return to the Franchise, its likely their interest revolved around getting a ALIENS sequel done rather than carry on with any continuation to the Prequels though.
The Prequels are in a LOT of trouble despite Emma Watts being behind Ridley Scott as far as making a continuation with his ideas, ONCE they get the Right Story.... The Problem is a lot of Fans are just NOT interested in a Movie where David will be one of the Main Focus of...
The longer a Prequel is taking before the Green Light then the less likely it will be about David, well because surely a Android does-not Age?
But there are ways around this... from having a After-Math where David would be just as like Bishop was in Alien 3, and even open up the Possibility that David could Transfer his Soul into a NEW Body. Or Evolve his Current one.
One should have the option to delete a post.
I find it hard to imagine Ridley Scott will be given the chance to carry on with the prequels.
Hollywood is business before it is art.
I can't think of a tagline as Ridley Scott left all the possibilities open. Even for a queen.
Great intro credit idea HYPERNOVA.
I love the Prometheus menu graphics. The video below has the David 8 section of the floating items on the Prometheus DVD menu incorporated into the opening.

"There are other things than androids, Xenos, and that so why not. Maybe a bit about WY could work as long as they do not reveal everything because there should be some mystery left but they need good writers and keep Scott away from the story."
The Cold Forge could certainly deliver this scenario in excellent fashion Thoughts_Dreams if made into film.
Excellent news, will watch it soon.
I love the Covenant mission hoodies.
Good screen captures dk. Thank you.
"Alien: Specimen — It’s the night shift in a colony greenhouse"
Bring it on!
Thank you for the share daliens. I'm still holding out hope on Alien Day news. I'll most likely get kicked in the pecans but I would be so nice to have big news.
"Even the Deacon was not biomechanical like the Big Chap, so no idea were from the biomechanical traits."
Great examples daliens. I believe Walter plays a part in the transition to biomechanical because he seemed to show traits of both synthetic and organic.
"But as we are heading for the route that David Kick-Startsthe Xenomorph Origins (lets assume at least) then having David Transfer his AI Soul into a Walter Model, and if the Walter Models are a Synthetic Construct like Elden from Fire and Stone... then thats a Convenient Route to obtain a Bio-Mechanical Xenomorph from a Bio-Mechanical Synthetic Host."
That route does have many ties to what we've seen in the comics BigDave. There is magnificent scope with this topic's question.
Now, after seeing concepts in the Prometheus: Fire and Stone (below) show up in Alien: Covenant, I believe we will see more of the concepts seen in comics manifest in films and/or a TV series.

"Probably will be like an open air museum of horrors, with many failed experiments, an extension of his lab from planet 4."
I would love to see that again daliens...see example below on LV-223 many years after the Prometheus mission.

The comics may give a glimpse of what kind of world may be created but it would be really nice to be surprised as to what "kind" of world is unveiled later on.
Which world are we talking about?
There could be many worlds with the David Model Population in 2073 being over 8 million, below. (unofficial, source material from weylandindustries.com, Steve Burg Concept Art)
