I know. I was on a high for about a week after. Still am really. I just spotted him lining up with everyone else. Couldn't believe it. Drove my wife nuts when I got home. She couldn't understand what the fuss was all about. She not much of a movie fan though.

I met him at the airport on his return from somewhere or other. This was in early Jan this year. He was very chatty and pleasant but would say too much. I kicked myself later cause I should have asked about the new Blade Runner movie. Oh well, maybe next time :-)

This should be quite an opening. It is the second post I've read when Ridley comments on the first few minutes of Prometheus. According to various posts, the first few minutes of the opening montage will actually be the climax, and then we're walked through the events that lead up to that moment.

I heard that as soon as I saw that abortion in the cinema. So about 3 years ago. Full of fan service it is though, it still sucked. I haven't seen it since then. And that last line "commanding" us, kinda does remind me of someone else.... Starts with an Ush and the end rhymes with "fuck" and I really hope you aren't one and the same person. (oh and hey since you guys are down with Alien youve probly seen Aliens right? well if you remember when the marines go down to the reactor level of the station to see what everyone is doing down there they get ambushed (as we all know and love cause a group of 20 marines gets dropped to 6) anyway if you remember the yelling over the coms when the camra cuts back to the tank Ripley is in you can hear Hudson yelling over the coms along with a few other marines. I need, ABSOLUTELY NEED, you guys to rewatch that scene. NEXT you need to watch AVP2 (Requiem [meaning celebration for the dead if i remember correctly... anyway]) *spoiler* when the national guard comes in on mainstreet the main group is talking to them over the radio/toolbox they got from in the store. listen closely, not to the characters but to the radio. if youve listened "properly" youll know you have. its good, its really good, so far im one of the only few people that actually "figured" it out. anyway good night, have fun, and most importantly.... yeah im not trying to troll, trust me youd be able to tell cause instead of acting all nice and.... timid i guess, id be all confident and cocky and actually probly get kicked from the site (>,>) [not good at trolling but i am good at makin people hate me] and i cant spell, im just using spell check while im on this site so i seem edjumacated. anyway i used to know a whoooole lotta stuff about predators (was a huge fan freak for a long time) but i think ive forgotten most of what i knew.... except that i read this comic once (AVP one i think) dude (meaning a predator) was missing an arm an still rippin an tearin up all sorts of aliens... was pretty cool... what was my point again? >,>... oh yeah, i just saw the 11 min gameplay sneak peak at Aliens Colonial Marines (the game that was suppose to come out in 2008 then 2010 then 2011 then next month now September) and ive gotta say, it looks good. picks up 2 weeks after Aliens the movie and the new marines go back to LV-426 to figure out what happened. anyway they put in some new mutations of the aliens due to radiation i guess (i think they said something like that) any way they can come up with GREAT new ideas for "new" aliens so if there are going to be xenos in this one (which by what everyone was yelling at me about earlier) i cant wait to see what they look like and what they can do. itd be pretty sick to see one of the facehuger throwers in this movie from the AVP PS2 game but i doubt that theyll ever put those guys in a movie lol

Yes IZ42 you are right it is the other prong of the crashing derelict, most of the long-term members of these forums sussed that out when the trailer was released. It seems quite a few of the noobs to these forums have some crazy outlandish ideas that have no basis in logic or reason (no offence noobs), and usually see things that are not there or come up with theories with no concrete evidence to support them. This is why a lot of threads seem to be split, long-termers posting alongside long-termers and noobs posting alongside noobs. Of course this brings its own problems because 99% of the time the noobs discuss things us long-termers discussed/discovered months beforehand.

I'm sure I've said this in another thread but IMO the strange rock formations you are on about could be part of a terraforming process initiated by the Space Jockeys that super-accelerates the nature of the planet from a dead dust bowl to a primordial landscape, much in the same way as project genesis did in Star Trek II/III.

Well, I just watched some of the pictures found under the media link on top of this page. Look at what is in the corridor behind N. Rapace, 2 SJ suits, standing on some kind of small platform. That would definitely put the question aside wether SJ´s look elephant-like or if someone maybe crawls into one of the suits infected by a Xeno during prometheus, ending up in the chair in the control room. Maybe trying to start up the ship, dying giving birth to the Xeno and the ship crashes down as seen in the trailer. Just drawing conclusions from reading on several posts. Maybe this is already adressed in another post ?

Yes, I can see something there....looks like...a mooray eel eating a small fish. For real Just look below the top light in the helmet, the light is right on top of the mooray eels head. Maybe, mooray eels are the genetic origins of the Aliens when created by God.

Stating that Prometheus is like a Blade Runner/Alien movie could be just a description of the over-all feel/look of the movie and not something that will be mixed together. If the universes really are the same, then a Sequel to Alien-Resurrection would be much more interesting with Ripley coming to earth gone Blade Runner style, than what S. Weaver had as suggestion for a 5th alien movie when she turned it down. Just can´t wait until Prometheus is out....feels like a child again waiting for that special, butterflies in the stomach (don´t know if that´s a saying in english but in swedish it is)

There is an intentional birth/procreation/sexual undertone in ALIEN, that's for sure. But from the dodginess of the filmmakers ("There is no Xenomorph in the new movie", "It's a prequel" "It's NOT a prequel"), you could sense maybe the new movie shies away from the whole sexual imagery and focus straight into a bigger story from different angles: Earth as a backwater planet for breeding slaves (!), inter-planetary conflict, corporatism, human greed etc. along the lines of James Cameron's ALIENS & AVATAR.

@Frantz The movie can be enjoyed on many different levels. You can enjoy it as a genre story, as a "monster on the loose" movie, as a thought-provoking scifi, or as the AVP poster articulated, see it as a metaphor for Ripley's fear of sexual relationship. We all know that some women do like men but they see our organ as a disgusting, repulsive ...uhm, appendage.

Obviously it is the other prong of the Derelict ship and obviously it is not the same as the one on LV-426. There was nothing wrong with the original model used in Alien, it was of such an unusual design that it did not need 'updating' like the Enterprise when it went from TV to Movies. We only see the Derelict from a distance in Alien but it is quite clear that it is a different ship to the one in Prometheus. If it was the same ship then it would be [i]exactly[/i] the same, not very similar. People just need to use their eyes.

dont worry cricket fans the ashes series is in 2013 not this year we are only playing them in some one dayers this year so only the olympics and diamond jubilee to worry about.

I think is not a problem of being stupid ( be a bit more polite .... ) ...the problem is that one can see whatever he want ... and if one start sayng "ohh great idea" to every point of view , about every speculation , about every critic opinion ...well at the end he have NO point of view . This idea kindly posted by Engr101 is nice but ...meh ... can be ...can be not ... can be a bit everything ..everyone of us can sort out his personal idea about alien ... I think they just wanted to do a great sci-fi horror flick , they hired an original artist , Scott mixed everything togheter ..and it worked perfectly ... why we have always think there is some hidden meaning ??
