yeah read your link great boots and he seems pretty adamant their will be no xeno's . Almost to the point that he feels they have become so bastardised by the subsequent films that they belong in disney lol and to some degree i feel he's right.

@The Snark: wow! great chance meeting! i think i would have lost it a bit. i ran into William Friedkin as he was exiting a McDonald's of all places so yeah, chance meetings like that can happen. glad to hear Ridley didn't blow you off, and was personable lucky one there The Snark! Thanks for sharing your story

This film is def a prequel for one simple reason, the ship from the first Len film is in it therefore a prequel.simple as that IMO.

Personally i have always been in awe of the film makers rather then the actors /stars. I would rather meet the artists and model makers /cinema photographers, and directors then any film star . with the exception of michael bay who is a hack lol and charlize theron who is a goddess.

You've done your homework GreatBoosUp. Yes, that is an SJ. I don't think we'll know if the whole suit was brought back. As you said, what caused this SJ to die? The head is some distance from the rest of the body / suit, so unless it rolled downhill with decay, I think the SJ had a 'bad encounter' with the creatures we haven't seen yet...IMO... Here's a closeup (Just scroll down a bit).

i do not agree ... or almost i cant be sure ...the mohawk guy is clearly seen in 4 shoots a) climbing a vehicle b) jumping from a vehicle c) in the red lasers scene ( background ) d ) with ridley scott ...raising into air ... the guy on the weelchair is more similar to me to the bald giant guy in the raising chair scene and can be the "sick" guy in the mercenary shooting scene . To me are two different characters but of course i cant say that you are wrong cypher .

The last model i built was a star trek enterprise back in the early 1990s my other hobbies and work tend to keep me to busy these days but great to see someone else still has the passion ncc1701.

"good try ...we need to ambush him ...show him some ushbucks posts and make him talk" Maybe ushbuck is going to be the main villain of prometheus... he was on the space jockey's planet for a long time and he was trolling their forums, and every time they banned him, he returned under another name, so they sent the warning signal and killed themselves to end their suffering (that's why we see that space jockey dead in "Alien")

i loved listening to veronica cartwright on the beast within documentary where shes saying their were all these penises and vaginas everywhere and she looks so bewilded by gigers designs she cracks me up every time i watch it. She was considered originally for the ripley role that would of been interesting but i think they made the right choice in the end.

@Snorkelbottom hey people dont have the time to come on every day like others, and dont expect them to go back 10 pages of topics looking to see if something they discovered is old news.

Now believe it or not i met ridley when my uncle was working on the original alien, it was very brief but me and my sister were taken to the model shop at bray studio where my uncle was working as an assistant dp for the nostromo model shots we had little passes and had a look around the set at bray. I was 12 years old. my sister was 14.

@Frantz...the nature of the artistic world is entirely subjective that's kind of the point of any art form.......The value of such creation comes from the place where multiple perspectives meet on a particular concpet as touched upon in a created work of art...the artist's or creator's perspective on his or her work's meaning and the juxtapositon of that point of view with that of his or her audience..... Whether we agree with @Engr101and the original poster on AVP Galaxy or not isn't the point....that they saw anything in this film others may or may have not seen and brought it to our attention is everything....That expression of opinion is what makes art valid, woth our time and interest, otherwise there's no point in creating it whatsoever. You can agree or disagree with them all you want....it will never invalidate the opinion, because it doesn't work that way; wheter they're right or wrong, the discussion they create from it is what's important. About this..... "... and if one start sayng "ohh great idea" to every point of view , about every speculation , about every critic opinion ...well at the end he have NO point of view."...........It's impossible for any artist not to have a point of view, the very nature of creation implies a point of view by default....that act of creating is a decision to build upon one's ideas and present them to others in a particular way, which implies meaning in the presentation, in this case storytelling.....There's a point there for everyone to see, like it or not......... The only artists closest to ever creating without a point were the Dada artists of the early 20th century and even they, by the act of creating, by saying we're creating for the sake of creating with no meaning intended, forced a point of view upon themselves. So, I'm not saying I agree or disagree with @Engr101......but I'm intrigued by his point of view and that has validity in itself.....that's why we're here isn't it?...because we see things worth seeing, worth the time and expense of expression and passion.....

liked the hugger on face similar to hand on childs head at birth. will have to look at the scene where ripley grabs at toy when she's being choked by ash. yeah, plenty of sexual themes and representations visually and subconsciously i enjoyed your observations.
